House of Shadows (Ghosts and Shadows Book 1)
House of Shadows (Ghosts and Shadows Book 1)

Review:I loved this book. It's equal parts horror, gothic and mystery. If you close your eyes, you can picture the house and characters. It's hard for an author to paint a picture so vivid that your imagination can see it. Ms. Coates has become one of my favorite writers and I will be anxiously awaiting more of her work. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. Read more

Baby Teeth: A Novel
Baby Teeth: A Novel

Review:First thing that comes to my mind after reading this book is WOW! This was a page turner, for sure. I'm glad I was able to read all night due to recovering from surgery. It was a hard book to put down.

This was a thriller so creepy it brought out hints of horror. And I loved it every bit of it! It is hard to believe that this is the authors debut novel. I look forward to many more books from her.

It was well written and oh, what a scary little 7 year old girl, Hanna. It was a truly... Read more

Phantoms: A Thriller
Phantoms: A Thriller

Review:There are many Koontz books that I love, including this one now. It's incredibly entertaining and well written; as much as any and more than most of his books I've read to date. I finished it very quickly. Not a boring moment. The heavy supernatural element to this book is great, something I wish the Author would always embrace. Within the last month I've also read Ashley Bell (One of Koontz's newest) and Lightning (another of his classics). Both of which are great, but Phantoms is better! This ... Read more

A Novel (Dean Koontz's Frankenstein - Book 3) - Dead and Alive
A Novel (Dean Koontz's Frankenstein - Book 3) - Dead and Alive

Review:Overall, I enjoyed the first 3 books of this series. Dead and Alive has a satisfactory ending on its own, but leaves room for the sequels. I liked the characters and the relationships between Erika 5 and Jocko and between the 2 detectives. As I look around my office, I wonder how many of my co-workers are from the New Race. Read more

The Crooked Staircase (Jane Hawk Thriller, Book 3)
The Crooked Staircase (Jane Hawk Thriller, Book 3)

Review:The first two Jane Hawk but were very good, quick paced and exciting. The Crooked Staircase started differently with altogether new characters and once they died they were never mentioned again. I’m trying say it was choppy and disconnected in the first 4 or 5 chapters then it slowly got better. Not nearly as good as the other two books. Read more

The Taking
The Taking

Review:Dean Koontz has been one of my favorite authors since I read NIGHT CHILLS in 1976. Since then, I've loved many of his novels, including WHISPERS, PHANTOMS, WATCHERS, and LIGHTNING. He always seemed to me to be a more spiritual Stephen King - Koontz's stories were as harrowing and exciting as King's, but I felt a greater element of resolution and redemption in Koontz's novels.

That said, I must admit that THE TAKING is a disappointing novel. Somehow I missed it when it was first release... Read more

Crave (Fallen Angels, Book 2)
Crave (Fallen Angels, Book 2)

Review:I absolutely love J.R. Ward. My favorite series by her is "The Blackdagger Brotherhood". That series was how I was first introduced to her writing and I have been hooked ever since. I love her style and this new series "Fallen Angels" is just as good. I am on the second book "Crave" and can't put it down. I definetely reccomend this book or any book by her if your looking for a great read!! Read more

The Ashes of Pompeii (Purge of Babylon, Book 5)
The Ashes of Pompeii (Purge of Babylon, Book 5)

Review:I haven't been so entertained in years. This series makes everything else I'm reading seem tame. I actually paused reading another book to read this one. And now it's hard to go back. Can't wait to see where he takes us. I really feel like I have been in "the fight" with the main characters. Read more

Blood Redemption (Blood Curse Series book 5)

Review:Tessa brings one of the Villians to the light side in such a way you shudder at his vileness, but at the same time cry out that he is redeemable. I love Tessa's books and can never get enough when Im done reading one Read more
