Review:Fine, psihologic, very well documented. And it's not easy to justify a vampire in a sci-fi first contact. I also liked the way the author lists at the end all sources used and gives more background to it's characters. Read more
Review:I received this novel in the time expected and am looking forward to reading it along with the other Jodi Picoult novels I have purchased. I am intrigued by Jodi's voice and the way she presents her characters. Every one of them becomes a friend or acquaintance. Her scenes and storylines are delicious. I savor every word and nuance long after I've read the book. To say I am a fan is putting it mildly.
I'm so glad my sister introduced me to Jodi and I now recommend her work to everyone... Read more
Review:This is the second book in the Experiment in Terror series. As with the other books in the series, it was fast-paced, tense, and a very good read. I would recommend it, but I would not recommend moving to the desert southwest anytime soon.... Read more
Review:After reading the positive reviews and the book description, I felt that this work had an interesting premise. I believe some of the reviews compared the author to Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams; unfortunately, these comparisons fall far from the mark. I know that writing a book such as this one is certainly a difficult task to undertake and I hate to be overly critical, but I did spend about $12 of my hard-earned cash (and my predilection towards leaving no dollar wasted is probably the on... Review:Book Two of The Taker Trilogy(The Reckoning)offered much more excitement and thrilling suspense than I expected. Instead of trying to match book one's horrors, the author seems to have added onto it in a very different yet surprising way.
I would call The Reckoning a very enjoyable read not only for Book One readers, but also for those new to Alma Katsu. This book can stand on its own because it reviews and clarifies much of what took place in book one. But I can't imagine anyone reading ... Read more
Review:I found myself utterly disappointed with Gregory Maguire's LOST. The writing is pedantic and downright boring. Maguire seems to profit from making intelligent readers feel smug because they pick up on some semi-obscure literary reference. I had a difficult time getting through the book out of sheer boredom, but kept plodding through knowing it had to get better. It didn't.
The reader is unceremoniously dumped into the midst of the life of a character (Winnifred Rudge) who is unlikable... Read more
Review:This book has backbone that many lack nowadays, it's not afraid to go another direction at a moment's notice and the characters are wonderful, each has their own views and beliefs that make for a wonderful story. Read more
Review:Time travel has always held my interest and excited me into thinking, What if..... These collection of stories will hold your interest and you will remember them for years afterwards. Some of the stories I somehow missed out on as a teenager and it was like reading them for the first time. Read more
Review:This collection I have been reading non-stop, you get lost in the multiple story's going on, and your mind is blown by the end of queen of the damned. Worth staying up late to read, and getting places early to have 15 minutes of reading time. Read more
