Review:Arrived on time as posted date arrival by Amazon as I bought this brand new. The book though thick and bit big but is not heavy.. most of all the prints are big that you don't need an eyeglass to find words. The main word you look are bolder in print that makes it easy to find its synonyms under it. I recommend this thesaurus and Amazon. Thank you. Read more
Review:I purchased this in audio form. I've listened to it at least 6 or 7 times, all the way though. I've learned so much, not only about writing, but also how to market yourself and get noticed. Jeff Goins, the author, narrates it as well, and his voice is energetic...like he was doing a public speaking event. Jeff begins the book from long before his full-time writing career began. He talks about how he managed to get his name out there, how he networked, and how he became as popular as he is t... Read more
Review:The war/anti-war movie Patton some years ago gave us a storehouse of anecdotes and images about this larger-than-life character. Some of the conventional biographies about Patton get lost in the many contradictions between his various public and private personae. War as I Knew It, though falling in the time-hallowed military genre of "leaving one's own record", presents a fascinating set of contradictions as poignant as any cinematic fantasy about Patton. The work is quite short, and

Review:A well written and onverwhelmingly sad book! The first chapter about pro-wrestling was hilarious and I enjoyed it very much. The rest of the is probably just as true, although it was rehashing some ideas I've heard before Hedges dark vision of our country hit me hard. Twice I felt so sick to my stomach that I threw the book across the room. The biggest kicker was the final chapter were Hedges, instead of grasping at solutions, says there is no hope except maybe for love. LOVE!?!?! God dammit! Read more
Review:Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Having come from an 'airplane family' where my dad and his 6 brothers grew up with a landing strip and barn full of planes out back in the 60s, I especially appreciated hearing the stories in this book. There's not much I can add to the other great reviews, this is simply one I couldn't put down. Read more

I bought dome stickers and Grandson Liam now has a wonderful copy of a marvelous classic. Thanks to an honest and sincere seller Read more
Review:Frustratingly good at times / the webs one weaves for themselves through pride and greed and not communicating! But in the end. The mourning isn't for the characters it's for their lack of foresight in the what could have Been's Read more
Review:This is an interesting read, I'm actually reading through it for one of my uni classes and I'm not disappointed at all about paying for this book. This should be required reading for kids growing up, civility is not a common as you would hope unfortunately. Some of the ideas outlined in this book seem like common knowledge, but I would recommend it none the less. Read more
Review:Great little phrase book -- endless phrases for all sorts of situations. For our 5-day stay in Florence, we didn't need too much Italian, but I still recommend this book if you're going for a visit, no matter how short or long. Read more
Review:In The Soul of a New Machine, Kidder accompanies a team of young
engineers tasked with building a new computer for Data General. The
project is led by a curt manager with a methodology he calls mushroom
management (keep them in a damp, dark place, and feed them shit) that
would be impossible to instate in any sensible company these days. The
project is of highest significance for the company, and everything is
due yesterday, everyone working in a frantic pace to get the compute... Read more
