Fairy Tales, Folk Tales & Myths
Review:My family is reading this series aloud before bed every night. The stories are wonderful and the characters are much more rich and complex than those on screen, which is a shame for the latter. That said, I highly recommend this series to anyone with even a passing interest.

Review:My son loves the stories! The pictures are creative and grab his attention. There are a few grammatical errors which may be due to the translation. I'd love that to be addressed as well as a little more love for female characters. Perhaps Constance could save the Prince! Read more
Review:What's interesting is all these adults putting their 2 cents in determining what a child would think about the book. Maybe you do have to worry maybe you don't, but my childhood memories go back at least this far. This was one of my favorite books even and even though it had problems as a child nothing bothered me. I knew that it it stereotyped and that something was wrong with the person who did that. I knew that they tried to kill a brother, but I always believed that Good Trumps Evil every ti... Read more
Review:Rogue picks up right were Talon leaves off and immediately dives into the action. One thing I love about a series is that book 2 can be so much more actiony and edge of your seat as the world and characters have already been established. And I love how the characters often grow and change as the series progresses. This is certainly the case with Rogue as there is just so much that happens in this book and it will almost leave you breathless from all the action. There are no super big reveals and... Read more
Review:I really like this book because the main characters in it are not all nicey-nice. They are the children of fairy tale's worst villans, and for the most part, mean and evil. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos, don't even know what "love" feels like, and they've been living on an island surrounded by a magical barrier for most of their lives. That is, until a the 16 year-old son of Belle and Beast invites them to attend his school, a school for mostly the children of the royals in fairy-tales to attend. ... Read more
Review:My daughter loves the book. It includes the spells that are in the movie. However, it also includes Mal's and the other characters' notes along the margins. My daughter finds those notes unnecessary. I would have given the book five stars if it had been an exact replica of Maleficent's spell book in the movie (which is what we expected). Read more
Review:For my daughter's monster themed birthday party, I purchased this book for guest sign-ins. Not only will she have a charming momento from her first birthday but also a charming book. The story is quite nice (party monsters making a mess then doing something really nice in the end) and the art is off-beat, attractive and memorable. I also purchased this for my nephew's first birthday. Big hit. Read more

Review:Good read, enjoyed the story. A little predictable but a few nice surprises. I hated the protagonist naming of the Dragon, every time I read it I could not help thinking of "Top Gun" I'll definitely read the next book, look forward to seeing how this story unfolds.
Would have been 3.5 Stars if possible. Read more
Review:You can do much worse than to hand an impressionable young girl a copy of Patricia C. Wrede's Dealing with Dragons. The book's MC is just about the ideal role model. I gave this book to my 6-year-old niece, and we've whiled away many hours, just me reading chapters to her.
It's about 16-year-old Cimorene, perhaps fantasy literature's most unconventional princess. In the fair-sized kingdom of Linderwall, which is just east of the Mountains of Morning, Cimorene is the seventh and youngest d... Read more
