Review:I've impatiently waited for this book for what seems like forever and the wait was well worth it. Brian and Ella are magical together and the rest of the characters make them substantial and believable. I laughed, cried and felt every range of emotion. I can't wait to read it again.
Now how about a book for Vivian and the dad's? Read more
Review:I know I typically post stuff like this all the time, but I always mean it when I say I really loved this book. It wasn't the typical "in-between" novel while you wait for the next book to come out. In a way, it felt like it's own series. I can always tell that a book is a good one when I finish it within the day I got my hands on it! Read more
Review:Even as the only girl in training to become a knight, Kel has proven herself. Now, she must learn from the biggest knight in Tortall: Lord Raoul, knight commander of the King's Own. Although practice jousting matches leave her bruised and out of breath, they prepare her for the many tournaments that she competes in. Someone always wants to beat Kel, but few people do. Eventually, she is challenged by her former teacher, Lord Wyldon. Many times, she wins, but she does lose these jousts occasional... Read more
Review:The characters in this book are sincere, deep and very funny to read about. Alanna is coragous and daring, but soft and pokable at the same time.
But, despite the really good characters and their personalities, I didn't like this book. The main character seemed bossy, rude and too eager. If you fought in a army, you woundn't jump at the occasion to fight!
But, most of all, there were some...uh...romance in this novel that scared me a little. Well, a lot. The girl dates and makes out w... Read more
Review:Emporer Mage is a awesome book, I've reread it about two or three times, and I'll probably reread some more! I love Tamora Pierce's books, I recheck them out at the library a lot. I love how, in this book she goes to Carthak and heals the emporer's birds, it is just SO awesome. I love how she gets right into the story and explains things as she goes along, this is one of my favorite books. I think it is neat how she gets all mad over getting told Numair was killed. I love how she ruined... Read more
Review:I am on book four of this series. In my opinion, it deserves to have the hype and attention given to The Hunger Games and the Harry Potter series, which is not an attempt to denigrate those wonderful stories. I've read them and they are deserving of all the attention given them. That said, let me also say that I have gained more from Protector of the Small Quartet than I have from either of the other series. In spite of the elements of magic, Tamora Pierce has created a flesh and blood charact... Read more
Review:The first book of this series is the only one I've truly truly enjoyed ot be honest so far-the second was a bit shocking. But the third-well, lemme start at the beginning.
Alanna spends much of her times fighting a recessive string of battles-they seem to lap over one another and it gets little unending after awhile. In a shortening: It gets BORING folks. I enjoyed the Bazhir-they reminded me of India and the Middle East combined. But I did get a little tired of the continual spew of Alanna ... Read more
Review:Wow, this book is really good. You should read it, really. Alanna really wants to be a knight, but she can't. She and her brother switch places, and she trains to be a knight. Alanna has to keep her secret that she is a girl when she goes into training, and it must be really hard since she makes a lot of friends. Imagine having to lie to the King! Many people forsee great danger for Alanna . . . Can Alanna prove that she's just as good as any guy? Read and find out! Read more
Review:Rebekah "Beka" Cooper is now a Dog, a fully qualified member of Provost's Guard, which is basically the police force in Corus, the capital of Tortall. Beka is a natural at Dog work, she's observant and persistent, but her magical traits set her apart from the rest, she has the ability to gain information from the spirits that attach themselves to pigeons and the dust and dirt that swirl on the ground called dust spinners. These skills along with the help from the company she keeps make Beka a sk... Read more
Review:Tamora Pierce has outdone herself, with a book in this saga that brings more magic and religion from her other works. It is long and thirst quenching. I'm glad to see that she doesn't need to break apart her books into smaller ones. Read more
