Review:Obsidio is the endings of all MFing endings. Wow.
As a reader, I always look for satisfaction in an ending of a book, and definitely for an ending of a series. Endings don't always have to be tied up in a nice and perfectly tied bow, but it would be nice to feel good about what I just read.
But wow. Jay and Amie have created this beautiful masterpiece, that isn't only visually appealing, but engages in such a stimulating way.
Without saying too much to possibly give spoilers... Read more
Review:Where to begin! I just finished Akata Witch and can't stop thinking about it. I can't help but relive and imagine all the prose and captivating vernacular Okorafor writes with, not just with Sunny's story that practically weaves itself around my head and heart like a masquerade, but in all the books she writes. As an aspiring author, I find that the magical realms that Okorafor creates are the most inspiring, motivating, and uplifting stories one can read in order to improve your craft and bette... Review:The world of Orleans and its obsessive grasping toward achieving Beauty at any cost is both terrifying and magnificent. I love the play between creepy, mysterious horror and opulent, romantic beauty in this book. The world building is what propelled me through the book, which I could barely put down, and I’m very curious to see what Book Two has in store for us readers. I love that, even though the book is a fantasy, there are plenty of technology additions that really help build a well-rounded ... Read more
Review:I brought this for my grand child who is graduating from grammar school. I read it, great subject matter, wonderfully laid out, encompassing the entire spectrum of the sorely afflicted land. Wonder it it is a bit much for a young girl? Read more
Review:Fun read, enjoyed the stories of the portraits and the ghosts who inhabit Hogwarts. Wish there was more about the friendship between the founders - especially about the tricks and adventures they had. Read more
Review:So, continuing from The Thousand Orcs, Drizzt thinks his friends are dead and is behind enemy lines. Ostensibly, this book is about a lone "drow" so therefore, Drizzt is the main character. This isn't actually the case and the setup is totally misleading. Drizzt is in this book for a blink of an eye, and instead the majority of this book is instead about a bunch of dwarves with goofy names fighting generic battles with generic orc enemies. Yes, that's right. A book called "the lone drow" barely ... Read more
Review:For those who are familiar with Drizzt and company, this book doesn't disappoint. There are major changes to the characters, and even the world, but the descriptive action sequences we've come to expect are there in abundance. A must read for fans of the Forgotten Realms. Read more
