Review:Interesting book, nice supplement for Masters athletes. If you are new to training or "Friel-speak" you should pick up one of Joe's Training Bibles in your discipline, as many of topics he discusses assume you are familiar with his system. Read more
Review:Julia writes a good many books about self-invention and respecting the creativity we are all born with. this one is particularly topical as it addresses the senior audience and issues of retirement and rebirth, or, if you prefer, simple adjustment. i prefer rebirth. inspiring and practical. one thought: do your morning pages! Review:I just received it yesterday. I really like it...but there are a couple of pages that look a little blurry, almost like it's a print out of a picture of the page and then enlarged. Other than that, I'm happy with it. Read more
Review:Excellent book! At first I thought it might not be a good fit, but I was soon proven wrong. It is very eye opening, encouraging, validating and self empowering. Giving your love and life away to ones with no appreciation or regard or recipricocity or even RECOGNITION of what you've done/shared is a waste of the valuable gift if time and the joys USUALLY associated with serving others. This book helps you recognize it isn't you with the problem after all, which is the first place empaths go, lol.... Read more
Review:Dr Andrew Wakefield, who is the center of this controversy (and is not the author of this book)was recently struck from the UKs Medical Register in May 2010. His research provided most of the so called evidence for vaccines as a cause for autism Why was his research retracted and he punished by the British medical system?: Performing research without IRB approval, performing unnecessary procedures, and four counts of dishonesty and 12 involving the abuse of developmentally-challenged children. ... Review:An interesting combination of essays or texts, this edition has a relatively brief essay marked by the effect of its date of composition -- 1956 -- with a longer, more complex argument as to the nature of symbols and their revelatory role in uncovering the "collective unconscious," a concept perhaps inherited by Jung from some earlier figures in he history of psychoanalysis, but fully developed in his later thinking.
THe 1956 book is underlined by the collapse of true Soviet empire in Hu... Read more
Review:Very well written. Convincing and helpful. I do realize the "wisdom" part of utilizing the Word of Wisdom, since we are all very unique, is to know the needs of our own bodies. Some of us can do well with a complete whole food plant based diet, and some of us require some meat in our diet. Certainly not in excess, however, and Birch's book is very good to bring that out. Review:I think my husband's parents will love this book. They like to travel by car, and explore the country. This book is really thick and a little big for taking in the car. It seems to be more of a trip planning book, maybe for the coffee table, than one you would take with you. Read more
Review:I have read some really harsh reviews of this book but I say "it is not our job to judge". No one knows whatbthey would do unless they have actually been in the situation themselves. I think the author is being brutally honest in this book. He could have left out the unflattering parts but he did not. I was captivated by the overwhelming challenges this family is faced with every single day. I think this book gives a good look into this child's illness and daily life. Read more
Review:I lost my only child, my son, to schizoaffective disorder after years of trying to find the help he so desperately needed. He died from over-sedation in a state run mental health crisis unit. Maybe there is hope for others. This book should be required reading for every US citizen. Read more
