A Travel Guide to More Than 1000 Scenic and Interesting Places Still Uncrowded and Inviting

I think my husband's parents will love this book. They like to travel by car, and explore the country. This book is really thick and a little big for taking in the car. It seems to be more of a trip planning book, maybe for the coffee table, than one you would take with you.

We enjoyed looking through it and deciding where to go next. We took off for a day trip after I gave it to my wife for mother's day. This is a recommend for those that like to travel, and not stay on the usual tourist routes.

This exceeded my expectations! It is beautiful and huge. It really is huge, not a book to take with you in the car on a road trip, but it is so beautiful and full of information and great maps that is well worth getting to plan your next road trip.

This was an update from a previous edition. Through the years we have found many interesting and worthwhile things to see and do. When we're on a road trip we don't have a set itinerary. When we see something interesting we stop. this book has been a great help to us.

Arrived in perfect untouched condition! I thought I was buying a slightly used book, but no....this this ws in perfect NEW condition...looks to never have been opened. Even the cover is perfect! I have been thumbing through and am finding places I never knew existed even if they are all state parks. I will be buying another book of non state parks to help with my journey as well. I have already mapped out my route to the Western side of USA and even Alaska. Very nicely done, but could give a little more info on exactly how to get to some the places and approximately how much admission is.

A large variety of suggestive sites, adventures and trips. It gives the traveler ideas of the places to visit before reaching them. This helps the traveler determine whether the value is really of interest.
