Hard Truths from a Life in Intelligence - Facts and Fears
Hard Truths from a Life in Intelligence - Facts and Fears

Review:I especially appreciated the detailed explanation of how the IC had determined how foreign actors (Russians, et al) had influenced the election, and the srtategies they employed. One can argue who benefitted, but having a better understanding of what happened to our sacred processes is an alarm we all must answer to save the country we love and dedicate ourselves to. The Eyre Affair: A Thursday Next Novel
The Eyre Affair: A Thursday Next Novel

Review:What a wonderful, fantasy-fiction parody of "Jane Eyre!" Loved the concept of a Britain obsessed with literature rather than football and celebrities. The science involved is totally implausible, but that is hardly the point. The whole story is a romp through 19th-century British lit with satiric jabs at bureaucracy and politicians. A great read! Review:Appalling that quack science is allowed to shape the economies of nations! The lack of integrity in top "peer-reviewed" journals is sobering.
Great that he could find 110 "real scientists" who "on the record" said what they really think about THE HOCKEY STICK. Read more

The End of Diplomacy and the Decline of American Influence
The End of Diplomacy and the Decline of American Influence

Review:Well articulated, excellently reasons, nuanced, clear, non-partisan. It is the best book I’ve read on Foreign Policy in a very long time. It is as much a book as a very long very well researched article. Hard to put down. Read more

The End of American Exceptionalism (American Empire Project)

Review:Maybe once or twice in a generation, along comes a book of stunningly clear vision and earth-shaking gravity. This is such a book. YES, MUST READ. I am buying copies for anyone who is vaguely interested in how we got to the mess we're in. Read more

Review:Really an excellent book. Holland brings to life the last days of the Republic in a way that for me certainly created a page turner of a story. It has all the excitement and intrigue of a well written novel. Read more

Lies (and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them)
Lies (and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them)

Review:Al Franken does not waste time. He starts by lambasting conservative authors and politicians, and he delivers a pretty brutal crush at the end. This is not a book conservatives will like in any sense.
Franken's best chapters detail America's involvement in Aghganistan, starting in the 1980's with the Aghgan resistance to the Soviet invasion. He tells the story of Aghganistan's collapse, albeit breifly, and how that collapse was neglected (Project Neglect). He then tells the story of how Clint... Read more

Inside the Populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics
Inside the Populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics

Review:Great read with both antecdotal and empirical evidence backing up what the election results had shown. Very interesting to hear the stories from citizens whom were BHO voters once, and usually twice, then punch their card for Trump. I would say that another book could be written just like this, in the south where people voted for Obama once and then Trump next, but for completely different reasons than what are outlined in this book. And that would be my only criticism, that the authors stuck to... Read more

If Nuns Ruled the World: Ten Sisters on a Mission
If Nuns Ruled the World: Ten Sisters on a Mission

Review:I was saddened by the distorted viewpoint this book gives about women religious. There ARE ways to do good in the world without breaking with the Magisterium of the Church.

Where were the stories about Saint Teresa of Calcutta, Saint Benedicta, (Edith Stein), and SO many others?

This was centered only on the most radical, the most removed from the Church, other than the story of Sister Dianna, Sister Joanna...the tortured nun, and the nun who helps women of human trafficking.
