Review:After reading some of the one and two star reviews of this book, I ordered it anyway. At first it seemed very exciting and interesting but as I continued to read the individual accounts, they seemed to sound very similar. I feels like the author took his father's notes and embellished the accounts to add interest. I may be all wrong with my observations but I couldn't finish the book as it started to read like fiction. I really had wished for better, but I cannot recommend this book. JIM Read more
Review:Excellent first person account of the Battle of Britain but not the best I've read. If you're looking for something with a little more of the overall picture, try Fly For Your Life by Robert Stanford Tuck. Tuck's book is definitely the best memoir on the Battle of Britain I've come across and one of the best WW II books I've ever read. Read more
Review:fantastic and captivating book. I'm sorry that it's finished. I often could not put it down. I have been to Alaska (though not in winter) and was intrigued about the places she mentioned that were familiar to me. What a treat this book was. Looking forward to another of her books. Bonnie Ward is a good writer and leads the reader right along with her in her adventures. Read more
Review:Although this book is sexually explicit it is a most important and historic book. Despite the fact that author Sinclair has had, to put it mildly, a checkered past, I found this book to be totally credible, truthful and believable. The American people have seen since the publication of Sinclair's book that Obama is a corrupt and lying individual. He uses tax payer money for campaigning across America, all the while denying it, he uses dead people's Social Security numbers, forged documents to "p... Read more
Review:Fascinating story of the excessive culture of Wall Street.
Turney Duff was a hugely successful trader until it all came crashing down as he sunk further and further into his addiction.
His redemption and his great writing ability make this a great read. Read more
Review:This is an extraordinary book in terms of the research involved and the excellent writing. McCullough makes excellent use of primary source material to set Theodore Roosevelt in the context of his family. One of my interests is in how leaders emerge from families, and this is the best book in terms of that I've ever read. I listened to it two in audio format, and then bought the book. My latest purchases of it were as gifts for others. Read more
Review:Inspired by Gifted Hands, I wanted to learn more of Dr. Carson's insights.
Think Big, a book that can be read by novice readers, offers very practical advice and insights that can help anyone be their best. The title is an acrostic for the things that Ben Carson considers essential for success. He defines success as, essentially, knowing you have done your best.
I gave the book four stars because I felt Gifted Hands was much more engaging in giving the same advice - I find Gifted H... Read more
Review:The term soulmate has been thrown around so loosely that it has lost most of it's meaning now a days. This book shows by example what a loveing careing and nurtureing realtionship is and what you sometimes go through to get there. If you think your in love now, read this book and look at yourself. Look at the person your in a relationship with. Look at the people around you. On the subway, in line at the movie theather. After a while and if you do find your soulmate (and nobody promises you ... Read more
Review:Savannah's mystery man, Jim Williams comes to life on these pages. I welcomed the chance to delve into his life and learn about Jim as the brilliant business man that he was. The story explores Jim's friends and his life style. It also seems like a firm base to keep retrying Jim for murder time after time. Why was Jim so fascinated with Danny Hansford? That question was never truly answered. One secret Jim took with him to his grave. Interesting, well written story. Read more
