Growing Up & Facts of Life
Review:Updated Review: When we first received this book, we weren't impressed. But over time, this book has become one of our daughter's favorites. For whatever reason, it captures her imagination. Margaret Wise Brown had a very interesting background in children's education and philosophy, so she was ahead of her time.
Original Review: This book is called a companion to Goodnight Moon, but it really isn't.
It's boring, disjointed, and doesn't have the iambic pentameter of Goodnight Moon.

Review:Beautifully written, I love you to the Moon and Back is the perfect gift for any mom. It's beautiful use of blues draws in the reader and provides an engaging picture for the young child.
Pros: The pages are thick cardboard, meaning that a baby can handle this book. You don't have to worry about damaging the book.
Cons: After a few uses, wear starts to show on the corner(but you should expect this when a baby handles the book)

Review:I have bought a number of coloring books that has to do with animals. I do enjoy animals and coloring them relaxed me. My grandchildren like to watch and wants me to hang the pictures on their walls. Anyone that likes animals I would say buy the books and let you kids or grandkids post them in areas that could decorate and not destory their walls. You could share the fun. Read more
Review:I do not recommend this novel for children under the age of 18. The main character is a ten year old girl, psychologically and physically abused by her mother and possibly sexually exploited. For 10 years, she knows nothing beyond the four walls of the family apartment. She and her brother are then moved to the country before London is bombed. While morbid curiosity kept me reading to the half way point, this novel raises so many flags. Read more
Review:I enjoyed this book immensely; however, I am a huge fan of discworld. Like others, I was also a tad disappointed that the illustrations of characters varied greatly from that of Paul Kidby. Many authors aren't given the option of picking their illustrator(s) and I wonder if this was the case with this particular book?
I believe this book is geared more for parents who, like me, are discworld fans and plan to prep their children for reading the discworld series. The book functions primaril... Read more

Review:I bought this for Valentines day for my 1st grader and 1 day later she said "mama on already on the 9th chapter."I bought this book because my daughter is on a 5 th grade reading level so I'm really skeptical about the books I buy her because of maturity. This title spoke for it self so I purchased it especailly since the price was right. I usually try to read the books I buy her before I give them to her,so I can give her a test when she is done and so I know what is in the book to have a convo ... Read more
Review:Don't expect a lot from this book - It's great if you want a quick read about Ashoka or you're a teen reader. If you are serious fan of Star Wars books, it's best to skip this book and wait for something more substantial. This book lacks character depth, a serious plot and graphic details. Read more
Review:I’m not into the whole graphic novel thing, but I got this for FREE from Goodreads, and I have a deep and abiding love for my spirit animal, Shannon Hale. I still wanna be her when I grow up. This book makes me even more convinced because it seems like every girls’ story from elementary school. And I look at my daughters and think that it is their story as well. Who hasn’t felt bullied or lonely as a child? Who can’t remember deciding that the friends we’ve got aren’t working for us any more? Read more
Review:Astrid isn’t your ordinary twelve-year-old, interested in dance classes like her best friend, Nicole -- or even in boys, much. She wears a lot of black, reads astronomy books, and suffers through her mother’s “cultural enlightenment evenings.” This time, though, the ECE means tickets to Portland’s local female roller derby, and Astrid is instantly mesmerized. Tough girls with crazy “derby names,” controlled violence and speed -- it’s exactly the role model she didn’t know she was looking for. Sh... Read more
