The Forgotten Soldier
The Forgotten Soldier

Review:A harrowing, unforgettable trip into hell and back. A must-read for anyone mildly interested in the Eastern Front or seeing the war through German eyes. While not a completely historically accurate account, it was never intended to be a scholarly, historical reference. It is certainly authentic, however, and deeply personal and insightful. I cannot recommend this book enough. You will not get to the final pages unscathed and sharing in some tiny way Guy's grief, misery, disillusion, and trauma. Read more

and How Far She'll Go to Become President - When She Knew It
and How Far She'll Go to Become President - When She Knew It

Review:Excellent and well-written non-fiction book. I learned enough facts, (that I already suspected) to not EVER vote for this person. She only cares for the people to get the vote to be President. Once voted in office, then it's all about her. She has the love for power that is unprecedented in American history. The author backs up everything he writes with interviews and publications, so the reader can be certain they are reading a factual account. I have just read his latest book; "The Amateur: O... The Six Wives of Henry VIII
The Six Wives of Henry VIII

Review:The book has so much less than meaningful detail that it is difficult to see the story and its salient facts. I doubt very much if the preponderance of the detail was based on recorded events. Whether it was or was not, its inclusion was beyond unnecessary It was superfluous and distracting. Read more

The Long Road Home (TV Tie-In) - A Story of War and Family
The Long Road Home (TV Tie-In) - A Story of War and Family

Review:Wow! - I started reading this book yesterday. Finished it this evening. I only put it down for very important appointments; I read it on the john, over breakfast, while on the exercise bike, in bed last night and this morning. I was amazed when I read the Acknowledgments and found she wasn't in the second Humvee on April 4, 2004. The book read like a diary of someone who was right there. This book does not glorify war; but it does lead you to love and sympathize with the participants in it. All ... Read more

Daughters Of Arabia: Princess 2
Daughters Of Arabia: Princess 2

Review:I loved to read both the books and have recommended these to many of my friends. The Princess Sultana's daughters was very equally interesting. The analogy of the impact on the next generation who have seen nothing but luxury and are still the victims of this strict Islamic culture. Read more

It Seemed Important at the Time: A Romance Memoir
It Seemed Important at the Time: A Romance Memoir

Review:I had heard lots good things about Anderson Cooper's new book about his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, and when I ran across this book I decided to start with it since I know nothing about her, other than for the fact that she is a wealthy woman. I was sorely disappointed in this book. She comes across as such a shallow person who is totally self-absorbed that it made me dislike her enough not to want to even finish the book. I got tired of all her self-adoration and put the book down for good. This... Read more

Ron Paul: America's Most Dangerous Nazi
Ron Paul: America's Most Dangerous Nazi

Review:This guy is a self proclaimed "garboligist" That means he studies garbage... Which would explain why he has written such trash. Just as a zoologist would write a book about animals. This clown wrote a book that belongs in the garbage. Serioulsy where the hell do people come up with this s***? Read more

The Unforgettable Story of the Dog Who Went to War and Became a True Hero
The Unforgettable Story of the Dog Who Went to War and Became a True Hero

Review:An interesting and informative story (ex. I never knew that British naval vessels carried mascots or that pre-WWII Chinese port cities were so international). But, as a dog breeder, I do think that the author tended to exaggerated Judy's instinctive actions/reactions by attributing them to more human-level motivation. Read more

Mekong Mud Dogs: Story of: Sgt. Ed Eaton
Mekong Mud Dogs: Story of: Sgt. Ed Eaton

Review:Proudly served - July 1968 to July 1969 in the Mobile Riverene Forces as a 50 Cal. Machine gunner (River Rat).
This book is excellent. It's gripping, it's accurate, and it's real. It is extremely difficult to describe/convey the horrors of combat through the written word. SGT Ed Eaton does that and he does it extremely well in 'Mekong Mud Dogs'.

Glad to add this to my library. A great read - Highly recommend this book.
