Review:An incredible story written by a genuine American hero. Dick Winters was probably on of the best infantry unit commanders of WW II. An acquaintance was chosen to re-activate the 506th in the early 70's so I feel a remote connection with Mr. Winters. An absolute "must read". Read more
Review:Since it was proven later that Mr. Manchester fabricated much of this story as his own experience, I was disappointed. It still would have been a great work if he had not tried to possess it as his own story and had just presented as a tortured look back at the Pacific war through his interpretation of the period and the people when revisited during the contemporary time of the book's release. Review:Graphic writing. It was like you were there. I got a real understanding of the fighting these young men did and the bond that lives with them forever. I can almost understand why they don't talk about what happened, it was just too much for any human to dwell upon. Read more
Review:My approach to reading One Bullet Away came through my battalion's e-mail which arrived one day with the audible ding I'm so used to hearing. "Marine Officer speaking about Iraq and his book at Georgetown" was the subject, and the body continued explaining Fick's tour followed by, "even though this isn't open to the public, you should take advantage of this. Review:I had always wanted to know about McCarthy and the era that he lived in and especially learn about the fall of China to the communists. This book is so different from anything I have ever seen or heard in the past. It tells the whole truth about what happened to McCarthy.
I did not realize there had been so much political in-fighting on the security issues from the various political parties. The cover ups occurred not because people were looking for truth but were protecting their own poli... Read more
Review:Creed was one of my favorite groups to listen to. When they stopped performing and creating music was a sad day. This audio bio was touching. So many times I would shout out loud "Scott what were you thinking!" but at the end I realized that he too like many of us had his ups and his downs. He too was learning about himself, the business, his friends and how to deal with everyday life. I think he finally discovered that without Christ he would fail and his walk became stronger and this is what k... Read more
Review:`The Obamas: A Mission, Marriage.' is a portrait of the first couple during their first few years in the White House. This explores the lead up to his election and the hope that was placed in him. It looks at the settling in period that Michelle toiled with and the struggle she had finding her place in the administration. We see how the Obama girls are looked after and used to enhance Barack's image as a family man. And we see the difficult decisions he had to make and the awkward relationships ... Read more
Review:As someone who followed John Kasich's campaign from the very start and voted for him in The North Carolina GOP Primary, I was anxious to pick up this book. Trust me when I say that it doesn't disappoint. Kasich's optimism and hope for America shine through each page, at a time when America's path looks full of doom and gloom, Kasich provides ample reason for Americans to remain optimistic. Read more
