Review:This was an amazing short journey into the wonderful world of Norse mythology. I've started several books on the subject but became bored with confusing details and bogged down descriptions. Don't let the size of this book fool you. The author covers all aspects that I have found in other anthologies but with a straight, to the point writing style that was informative yet not overbearing. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Norse culture. Also a big plus are the links to extende... Read more
Review:Okay, I have not finished Jonathan’s book as of yet but felt I must react. I have to say Jonathan’s provides insights especially surrounding the overall British political and military aspects that shaped the “Battle of the Atlantic” as well as the impact on the “British Home Front.” However, it seems Jonathan does not provide the same situational context to his blistering comments about US Admiral King as he does for others.
To provide context, one must consider the general situation Adm... Read more
Review:I brought this for my grand child who is graduating from grammar school. I read it, great subject matter, wonderfully laid out, encompassing the entire spectrum of the sorely afflicted land. Wonder it it is a bit much for a young girl? Read more
Review:Excellent first person account of the Battle of Britain but not the best I've read. If you're looking for something with a little more of the overall picture, try Fly For Your Life by Robert Stanford Tuck. Tuck's book is definitely the best memoir on the Battle of Britain I've come across and one of the best WW II books I've ever read. Read more
Review:This book, in my opinion, focuses too much on the politics involved and not about the actual people involved with the actual design and construction of the bridge. I was expecting more technical details and actual experiences of those with their hands on the bridge. Good reading, otherwise. Read more
Review:Chris and Ted Stewart have chosen to chronicle seven major events from world history that, to me, show how blessed we are to enjoy the freedoms we now have. The work [...] is so interesting that, once once opens the cover and begins to learn about these events, it is difficult to put the book down. It makes one grateful to live in these times -- perilous though they are becoming -- and makes one want to protect that which we have. Read more
Review:So. Challenging. To. Read. I was fighting back tears of boredom. I wanted to love this book, since it takes place in Venice, but I couldn't finish the book. Writing style is bland, slowly paced. I would not recommend this book. Read more

Review:just finished reading and I am still reeling.....I live in Jennings and have followed this case for years. so many things I had no idea about that this book shed some light on. I was pulled over for speeding a few years ago by one of the cops mentioned several times in the book and I was scared to death. that this man was still on the police force should be a crime. he has moved to the next town over to terrorize their residents. I don't know if justice will ever be served because there are... Read more
