Review:Review of Philbrick’s "The last stand" by Paul F. Ross
Most of us, asked to recall “Custer’s last stand” based on what we remember from our schooldays’ history, would say that it was an event in which George Armstrong Custer and the US Army soldiers he commanded fought Sitting Bull and his Indians on the Little Bighorn River in Montana and were wiped out … no survivors. Nathaniel Philbrick uses bibliographic sources listed on 28 pages and notes presented on 93 pages that link those sour... Read more
Review:I think MJ-12 is real. I found the ideas presented in this book very logical. Majestic ordered JFK's assassination. What's more, we have the order, on original paper, burned from a fire. Dr. Michael Salla writes a very convincing history of events. He is able to cite sources and provides over 300 sources. I think the Marilyn Monroe chapter was one of the best. The great part about this book is it makes you think. Read more
Review:I received this book as an advanced reader book. I offer an honest review.
One of the nice things about being able to read eBooks is that I can look at a lot of different types. When I was much younger I read a lot of different types of books. As I got older with less time to read, most of what I read was for school or work. I am now coming around to reading a variety of books. Rasputin's Legacy was a book that looked interesting so I picked it up.
Our hero, with the interesti... Read more
Review:After reading the book a while, I encountered sexual content that caused me to quit reading the book.
Also, it seemed to me that the book jumped around from boyhood days to adult days of experiences.
I would not recommend the book Read more
Review:In 1959, when Kate Mayfield was in kindergarten, her family moved to Jubilee, Kentucky so that her parents could open their own funeral home. In this memoir, Kate revisits the first 20 or so years of her life, much of it spent in the three storey house which was both a family home (upstairs) and a funeral home (on the ground floor). She and her three siblings had to remain very quiet and out of sight whenever a service was taking place.

Review:Since its publication in 1920, Storm of Steel, written by Ernst Junger, has been surrounded by controversy. Many have misunderstood Junger and accused him of attempting to glorify war. I saw no evidence of the glorification of war in his book. Junger has obviously been desensitized to violence does not show much emotion to the atrocities of war that he witnesses. However, I did see evidence of compassion and a longing for the life that he had before the war.
I finished this book in less than... Read more
Review:"I have read Life in a Jar" which was great....this went into more depth...but giving you the reality of the horrific time and just what evil some monsters can wield on en entire race of people just because of a different religious beliefs! Then on the positive side to see the sacrifices some will give for strangers endangering themselves and their families. I would like to think I would be like the incredible Irena and her band of brave angels and step up....
Afterwards Irena refused to let ... Read more
Review:Tesla led a difficult life to make ours less difficult. Tesla brought us alternating current, neon lights, hydroelectric energy, radar, remote control, wireless communication and the modern electric motor. Another great hourly history. Read more
Review:This book is full of knowledge and little emotion. I'd hope to gain more insight to the people's plight, but all I recall are dates and politics. Perhaps I'm too far removed and unaware of Africa's troubled past and turbulent future to appreciate this novel. Read more
Review:Svetlana Alexievich's book, "The Unwomanly Face of War," is about Russian women's lives on the front in World War II. Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky were the book's translators. The author was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature for "polyphonic writings, a monument to suffering and courage in our time." This book chronicled historic accounts of various Russian women on the front line against the Nazis during World War II. The author traveled around Russia and the former Soviet Uni... Read more
