Review:He not only did great historical research, he tried to understand the importance of male and female balance in the universe from nomadic perspective. It is not easy task for anyone who is outlander and try to explain it. But he really did! In order to understand a certain culture very well you willing to go really deep into it and "taste" it with your human basic senses; looking, eating, smelling, listening, and touching. He did it all. I really appreciate his effort to complete the missing chap... Read more
Review:When I started reading this book, I thought it was going to be just another theory of who kill JFK. It is so much more than that. It starts near the end of WWII and reveals secret and not so secret meeting, agendas, deals, and decisions that the U.S. was engaged in from then until now and the resulting consequences. I was born during WWII so I am acquainted with many of happenings and you will be too even if you were born much later. The book is a real eye opener and it makes me wonder what's go... Read more
Review:This book should be required reading for everyone who decides questions of war and peace, even as a citizen writing letter to Congress or the President. General Butler gives a whole new view of what is involved in using military force "to protect American interests." Review:Gregory A. Boyd, speaks with refreshing honesty. A well rounded look at how politics can skew our thinking about our position as Christ followers in the kingdom of this world. It was truly thought and conscience provoking. A very brave book! Read more
Review:My son loved dinosaurs, and I loved Dr Seuss books! This was a perfect book for both of us(even if written by Bonnie Worth). The added bonus was that I never got corrected by my 6-year-old for mispronouncing dino names b/c of the phonetic assistance provided by the story. I bought this most recent copy for a friend's dinosaur loving daughter. They also report to loving the book. Read more
Review:Drosnin fails to mention that ALL VOWELS were first deleted and then re-inserted with other vowels to fabricate new words to fit what the authors want to say. THIS IS PREPOSTEROUS!! In Hebrew, vowels are formed by intricate markings below (underneath) the constanants. These markings aren't in their computer program which effectively eliminates them from the actual words. They then put in any vowels they choose and change the entire meaning and context. For example the word, WORD becomes WRD.... Read more
Review:An incisive critique of the enigma that Gandhi was, the gigantuan effort he put into, to shape and wield the political and psychological forces that led to the ousting of the island nation of England, who found India , their 'Jewel in the Crown, too good to leave behind. Great book. Read more
Review:I rarely read these book despite my love of sociology yet minutes into Traister's work and I was addicted. I barely made it through the third chapter before telling all my close friends (married or single) that they had to purchase it.
This book truly addresses the majority of the fears, joys, challenges and rewards of being single from multiple perspectives. Furthermore she manages not to tear down married women or pit them against single women in any way.
This should really be re... Read more
Review:My late paternal great-aunt, 1/4 unknown European and 3/4 Chinese was the only grand-family that my father counted on financially since the sudden death of his father at age of 8 in 1945. She was mean and tended to verbally abuse her own family and even step-family who later supported her at old age. She expected everyone to look up to her and to always say good morning, great-aunt every day from us. I grew up fearing her in my home when she came to visit us from San Francisco to Hong Kong al...
