Review:Roland Huntford's The Last Place on Earth (Scott and Amundsen's Race to the South Pole), re-published as part of the Modern Library Exploration Series after its original publication in the 1970s, is the precursor to the whole spate of recent books on Arctic explorations, both North and South, to the delight of many readers, myself hungrily among them. The author tells an exciting story and was able to effectively destroy the grand heroic myth of Scott and his run for the South Pole while resurr... Read more
Review:John Green is a great author. This is one favorite book he has written so far. I can't wait for the movie. This is a great book for all ages and would make a great gift to anyone that enjoys reading. The item arrived fast and well packaged. I couldn't believe the prices of his books on amazon versus my local bookstore. I will buy more of John Greens books in the future and would even give one as a gift. Very good read and kind of strange. Read more
Review:This is the truth and review ofthe 2nd Amendment. It is time the truth is told and not the lies from the government. This is what the founding fathers really meant! I would recommend this book to anyone who loves America and wants to save their country. Read more

Review:Wonderful first hand account of what must have been done in the Pacific WW II theater. Thank you for both your willingness to serve our great nation and your willingness to document the historical account. Very respectfully yours, Jon of Collierville, TN. Read more
Review:Great, well told story that few know about.... and but disturbing on several levels.
The book was referred to me by a retired Air Force pilot. Once I started reading it, I read it in just a couple days.
Highly recommend it to those with an interest in WW II and the brutality of war... any war. Read more
Review:This book surprised me as I felt Theodore Roosevelt has gone down in history as a great man and president. History proves this to be true, but this author denies the facts. In his opinion Roosevelt led us into World War II single handedly. This does not ring true.
I really hope that people read on after this book and learn the truth about Teddy Roosevelt.] Read more
Review:these stories and this perspective were totally new to me and this book presented them in a totally candid way that really enables the reader to identify with the girls in every step of their journey, from pre-pregnancy romance to seeking out the children they couldn't forget years and even decades later after they had formed other families. Review:There's only one God, sorry guys. :-(
You know what all these Alien pushers forget or just don't know is that when God made man, aka Adam, he used 100% of his brain. So did all the kids he had. We use maybe 5-10% max! These people were ALL geniuses! Don't you think they could build all the cities of old! Read more
Review:The war/anti-war movie Patton some years ago gave us a storehouse of anecdotes and images about this larger-than-life character. Some of the conventional biographies about Patton get lost in the many contradictions between his various public and private personae. War as I Knew It, though falling in the time-hallowed military genre of "leaving one's own record", presents a fascinating set of contradictions as poignant as any cinematic fantasy about Patton. The work is quite short, and
