Review:Being a retired criminal investigator I find Brad's books and TV show both entertaining and satisfying. Although a bit superficial at times, he and his team take the reader (or TV watcher) on a fascinating ride looking behind the scenes. Unlike some historians/authors, I find Brad's science and history to be very accurate with little to no literary license embellish the story. He has a tendency to chase a few wild geese, but those diversions never diminish the story line. Read more
Review:I’ve read several histories of the Korean War along with many accounts of the Pacific Theater of World War II and David McCollough’s magnificent biography of Harry Truman. Each of these works dealt tangentially with the primary subject matter of this nice, narrowly focused book, namely the conflict between President Truman and the most highly decorated and beloved (with the exception of George Washington, and possibly U. S. Grant) military figure in American history, Douglas MacArthur.

Review:This is regarding the Kindle version.
Brownsworth has compiled an enjoyable, efficient history of a few centuries of blood, gore, ambition, and globe trotting on the Vikings. In many ways, this is a "who's who" of Viking lore, bringing alive a series of world-changing adventurers and raiders.
A few notes in the Kindle version. First, too many minor errors. "Rus" becomes "Russ", and "Svein" becomes "Swen", among other small things that show a lack of editing or poor scanning. The bo... Read more
Review:Lots of interesting stuff here, especially the work on the true location of the Garden of Eden. I understand the need for many of these researchers to distance themselves from Ancient Alien theorists. Mr. Collins seems intent on doing this and it's a bit too much for my taste. Read more
Review:People argue whether these theories make sense or not. I see that it is an amazing reading to open one's mind. Graham Hancock puts himself in the frontline to show us soundly that history as we know may have not been so, and he ventures into an interesting and honest journey to satisfy his genuine curiosity, without pretenses. I love it. I feel it utterly honest and that's what I like the most about it. Read more
Review:This book should be taught in colleges. All aspiring for presidential office should be publicly questioned on different US historical events, which so thoroughly discussed in the book. I guess that such quest would find who is qualified to be included to primary competition for presidential candidacy. Read more
Review:I enjoyed the story; the characters were well drawn. I did not realize when I bought it that it was Young Adult fiction, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. But the ending left me cold. So much more could have been done to wrap it up. Read more
Review:Well written. Engrossing. Incredibly detailed history down to who sunk what uboat. He faults the Navy for our total lack of preparedness for the submarine war on our shipping. He faults Navy & Army for personal power struggles that prevented coordination of our war effort. A sobering history. Read more
Review:Good book which lead me to some other good reading. If you want to read the story because you think it sounds good and have no personal interest in the region, I imagine it would be hard to get through. Can be tedious at times. Read more
Review:Poor assesment of the real situation that existed in Britain in May 1940. The author omits important facts how Churchill in his first few weeks of his premiership turned Britain from appeasement into a formidable fighting force. The author by his own admission makes statements that are not supported by documented evidence frequently relying on personal diary entries. Consequently spun an inaccurate picture. Read more
