Business & Money
Review:I have never seen a book pull together so much research and comprehensive management thinking into such a succinct, balanced and life-changing premise. This book explained why some managers are good bosses and some are bad bosses without resorting to the old explanation that a manager isn't a leader or vice-versa. Truly ground-breaking and a must read for anyone who wants to know how to make a difference in their circle of life. Read more
Review:I had the fortunate experience of meeting Mr. Alex Pattakos on a return business trip lately. We struck up a conversation on a very full plane. I have to admit that I was exhausted from a one day out and in trip to the east coast from the midwest. He mentioned his book and his line of expertise. It would have been very easy for me to be a 'Prisoner of my own thoughts' and just try to sleep, but you see, I have been going through some very interesting decision points in my life and lo and beh... Review:The book left me encouraged about the progress outside the western world. I did not do well on the quiz. yet, I have seen the homeless in San Diego. Detroit slums are horrible. The water in Flint is deadly. The crime rate in St. Louis and Chicago is scary. Many small cities in the rural south have more adults on welfare than have jobs. The US is more divided than ever, it seems. There is more to life than global public health. While this book touched on many improvements around the globe, ... Read more

Review:This book helps to dispel the concept of the “overnight success story” or the idea that high performers are pre-ordained from birth. The mental model concept is particularly interesting, this being the idea that all high performers possess ... Read more

Review:This book fell into my hands at just the right moment. As an entrepreneur working hard to build my business I was feeling stuck and Natasha's clear no nonsense sitting in a room talking to your best friend approach was the voice I needed in my head to truly become who I was meant to be! Her voice is real and honest in a way that only someone who has been there can deliver! I could not more highly recommend Unstoppable Influence to anyone looking to become their best self! Read more
Review:I recently had the opportunity to a get a signed copy Bruce Schneier's Liars and Outliers from a Special Offer on his blog.
I have been reading his blog for a while but had never shelled out the cash to buy one of his books. I really enjoy his writing style, everything he says is backed up by references, of the 368 pages in the book 250 are the main content and the other 118 are Notes, References and Index.
This book is a thoroughly entertaining read and has made me rethink the way... Read more
Review:Once again Professor Grant excites the audience by introducing and challenging the familiar and turns them on to provide a different illuminating perspective. I love the part about procrastination and the strategies to avoid group think. Read more
Review:Jonathan lays out a clear road map for those who want to become self employed. The book is somewhat long winded and, from my point of view, could use some editing. On balance, however, it achieved its objectives. Read more
