Review:This truly is a great "little instruction" book that we've all been looking for. It's design is classic and well made. It's tidbits are simple, candid and true. I've been buying it for years as a graduation gift and finally just bought one for my 8 year old son... you can never start too early. Read more
Review:i just couldn't get into this book. The nearly daily activities were overwhelming for the tired first trimester. And after that i found other resources and ways to journal for baby and pray for him. A neat idea, but the devotions were shallow and the growth information is the same as all the emails one can subscribe to. Read more
Review:If you've ever wondered why you see the world and people differently, why you're often misunderstood and discouraged by circumstances and by those closest to you who don't see what you see ... If you've always known you were destined for something special and wondered why it's been such a struggle for so long ... This book is for you! Review:I was expecting a book that uplifted me and taught me to use better the loves I have. What I got was a philosophical/historical look at worship in the church over the ages with a few chapters in the beginning discussing how we tend to follow the society while living with buried loves on the inside of us that don't get expressed. Very disappointing Read more
Review:Every Sunday I looked forward to going to church with my mother. I'd wear nifty clothes and matched them up with my favorite accessories: shoes and handbags. I'd look and feel good, ready to devote an hour and a half to God. Then -- bam! -- something happened, something very small and meaningless, almost imperceptive, that put me in a foul mood. I became cranky to the point that I was inexplicably angry, all kinds of dark thoughts entering my head. Which begged the question: why. Why was I... Read more
Review:I found it to be too long, drawn out. I thought it would be more about The Shacks insite and not dry history. Disappointed as I was I continued to read and did learn from his book. It just was not what I expected when I bought the book, and the many pages in the end I felt was not necessary. His title is misleading. It should be "The Shack Revisited" by reading the pages over and over again until you can connect it with the shack. Then read all the pages of the humans I give credit to for my... Read more
Review:I usually rate things higher; not really a middle of the road kind of person. And giving it a "it's okay" rating is simply because of my personal preferences in a Daily Reflection book. I loved the original book! Read it like 3 times! I was hoping this would go deeper into the spiritual side of what was behind all of this.
The book looks really nice on my coffee table! It's laid out nicely too. Read more
Review:This is possibly the BEST book EVER about raising boys and I have ready soooo many! I will read this every single year. It's amazing. Can't say enough good about it! Review:Not only is this a practical and informative introduction to the relavant dynamics of the Enneagram, but it is done with pastoral care and theological integrity. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to learn how they try to leverage their strengths to secure God's love which cannot be earned; only received. Beware: the self-discovery is painful at first, but when put under the blessing that God already accepts our underbellies, transformation will result. Read more
