Book 1 (The Shadow of Death Serial (Amish Faith Through Fire))

I have always loved reading Amish books and The Shadow of Death- book 1 is by far the best one I have ever read and I have read almost every Amish book out there. I want to read more of this series. Thank you for writing this wonderful book

48 pages REALLY!!! I am sorry I bought the other two . terrible, to end a story like that and then expect you to finish the book in two more books that also have 48 pages. I read the book faster than I have ever read a book. It ended almost as fast as I begin it and it was just the beginning of the book. I had to go back thinking i had checked on the preview but realized it was the actual book i purchased. It might not have been that much but it was mine and it wasted on something like that, dont' put books like that in the orders or you will start loosing customers. The only person who won on this purchases was the writer because the price of the books was .99 and $3.00 but it adds up with enough buyers. terrible who does that? shame on the writer!

Writing style is enjoyable but different from other authors of Amish fiction. I never tire of learning more about the Amish. The subject is one I have never seen in Amish fiction and makes me curious about the ending.

I couldn't finish it. It switches from first to third person. Everything is in the present tense. It reads like an idea for a play or script, not a novel or even a short story. It was free, but it's still not worth my time.

Once again, I get interested in a story and find it has no end but a continuation into the next book. If this is going to be a trend now for authors/publishers, my kindle is going on the shelf !! So absolutely frustrating!!! You can't get a 5 star rating if I don't finish a story!! So mad!

I enjoy reading books; it's part of who I am - I choose books over TV or movies approx 99% of the time. I chose this book because I enjoy anything that focuses on God, Faith, forgiveness, and healing... As harsh as it may sound, and I mean to not offend those reading this, but a lack of forgiveness or failure to forgive is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person/s to die. In this short book, we learn of an Amish man with a wife and children. He is coming home one night when his horse and carriage are by a drunk driver. The pain and loss is overwhelming to his family, especially his widow and older daughter. I must admit such an event would be enough to send me over the edge too. I would also be angry and bitter, but I would forgive, because I don't want to be an angry, bitter person. I know little of the Amish faith other than what I read or see. Their ability to quickly forgive is both amazing and inspirational; that is another reason why I chose this book. My only disappoint with this ("The Shadow of Death - Book 1," ), is
that it was too short. I wanted more. I look forward to reading remaining books in this series, as well as other books authored by Ms Ruth Price. Well done Price!

It’s a sad story, but very interesting I just purchased book 2. I know how hard it is to lose someone. I lost my father and my son , i can understand how Katie felt because I felt the same way. Only God and my family helped me through those most difficult times also can say my Psychiatrist was very helpful.
