Alanna; In the Hand of the Goddess; The Woman Who Rides Like a Man; Lioness Rampant
Alanna; In the Hand of the Goddess; The Woman Who Rides Like a Man; Lioness Rampant

Review:The first book of this series is the only one I've truly truly enjoyed ot be honest so far-the second was a bit shocking. But the third-well, lemme start at the beginning.
Alanna spends much of her times fighting a recessive string of battles-they seem to lap over one another and it gets little unending after awhile. In a shortening: It gets BORING folks. I enjoyed the Bazhir-they reminded me of India and the Middle East combined. But I did get a little tired of the continual spew of Alanna ... Read more

Page: Book 2 of the Protector of the Small Quartet

Review:Be warned: there are spoilers ahead! First of all, I would like to say that I adore the Song of the Lioness and the Immortals quartets. They are original and just...wonderful! Unfortunately, I discovered them in 1998, around the time when Realms of the Gods came into paperback. I have been waiting ever since then for more Tortall books to come out (and was VERY disappointed when I read Sandry's Book, only to discover it had nothing to do with Tortall). So when I saw First Test in a store one day... Read more

Book 4 of the Protector of the Small Quartet - Lady Knight
Book 4 of the Protector of the Small Quartet - Lady Knight

Review:Ms. Pierce tries to cook too many morals into this book. YES, we know Kel is upright and commanding and frank and clean and compassionate and all that, but I think she's TOO virtuous. Alanna was a misanthrope and had much more snap to her. Ms. Pierce's Advice for Writers on her website suggests that when you're bored, you introduce a new character. I am positive that Tobe was born this way, because he's useless to the story, except for being another small creature that Kel protects. She cou... Read more

The Cricket in Times Square (Chester Cricket and His Friends)

Review:I read a book named 'The Cricket in Times Square' and I really liked it.

The reason why I liked it is because it gave us lessons about friend ship

and loyalty. I liked how the author showed the friend ship between Chester,

Tucker, and Harry. They tried to help their friends even though they look different.

I wish I had friends who are friendly and kind.I should try to be a person

who can help my friends as well.I think this author gave me a big lesson.

Little Britches: Father and I Were Ranchers
Little Britches: Father and I Were Ranchers

Review:I had a old cowboy for a neighbor in Wyoming who had a lot of amazing stories to tell. I'd go over there and chew the fat over breakfast and coffee. Anyway one day he told me that he was looking for a series of books that he knew about, but no matter what bookstore he went in he could never find any. He said he used to know the author, back in Colorado.

I said why don't you search the Internet. He had just gotten a laptop, his first, but he had no clue. He wasn't even familiar with keyboa... Read more

National Geographic Kids Beginner's World Atlas
National Geographic Kids Beginner's World Atlas

Review:This is a beautiful atlas, and my 3 year old is obsessed with it. However, Mexico and the Central America countries are just glossed over on the broad North America page. Would have been nice to have a page on the Mexican states and one close up of the Central American countries. There is a page that shows the states/territories of Australia, but as another review mentioned New Zeeland and Oceania are missing as well. Read more

Review:I don't like this book's binding. It's difficult to view the portions of the map closest to the center crease of the book without damaging the book, because the paperback version isn't very durable. I prefer Britannica's Student Atlas. Read more
