I don't like this book's binding. It's difficult to view the portions of the map closest to the center crease of the book without damaging the book, because the paperback version isn't very durable. I prefer Britannica's Student Atlas.

Not exactly what I was looking for now, but a good reference. A kid could turn the pages for hours--homework forgotten, book taken to the supper table to show the family, taken outside to show friends.

I bought this for my 6th grader to not only open her mind to the world and geography, but because she hates reading chapter books. I thought this would get her to read and be interesting. She loves it. And so do I! We can sit down for an hour and go through pages and pages of information that she finds interesting and also create conversations about cultures and geography. Definitely recommend!

This is a beautiful book! I highly recommend it also for adults who want to learn more about geography and the world in general, it's not the least bit juvenile. This book is perfect for families to look at together. There are lots of colorful charts geared toward an intelligent audience. This is for people who WANT to learn and enjoy absorbing new information, it's not geared toward a babyfied audience.

This book.is fantastic. My 5yo son has been obsessed with flags and maps since he could read. At Christmas we decided to get him this book. Best decision ever. We have to pry it out of his hands so he can go to bed. It has so much information in it and the pictures and maps are beautiful.
The book is broken down between continents and then has sub groups. Example. North America is broken down into Canada, United States, Mexico & Central America and West Indies & The Bahamas. For each sub group they give you stats such as size, population, languages, religion, life expectancy and litrracy rate.
This book was so popular, we just ordered the US Atlas which should be arriving any day.

My grandson loved this. He is 7 and a soccer fan . He likes to find the countries his favorite players are from. With so little geography taught anymore this is a good supplement to children's learning.

This is great atlas for kids! Photograph are beautiful, paper is shiny and there is a lot of interesting information. Got it for my 7-year-old and she likes looking at the pictures, but is not yet interested in reading about each country. I suppose it may be a little overwhelming. It will come in time.
