Review:The BrandenburgStudies ebook edition is obviously not edited for Kindle. The line breaks after a few letters, often in the middle of words. Too expensive for such poor quality, no wonder there was no sample. Read more
Review:My son read this book for 7th grade assignment. The book deals with slavery, rape, and abuse which were disturbing and not age appropriate for 7th grade. I would wait to read this book until high school at least. Book was well written, but disturbing for younger readers. Read more
Review:Enjoyed this very much, partly because I am a quilter, but more than that.I was intrigued by the story line, the ending was a bit surprising
Would have ended it differently, however it did not detract from the story. Read more

Review:I got used to the lack of quotation marks.... but why all the unnecessary commas and sentence fragments? Were they on purpose or doesn't she know how to punctuate? Review:The author kept the story moving. The descriptions of the time, the people and their attitudes put you back to the post-Civil War era. I'm not good at describing plots and such. All I can say is this is a well-written book that was difficult to put down. Read more
Review:I remember when I was a kid absolutely loving this book! As a child, I loved the heroic tale of Balto and enjoyed the detailed pictures. Now, almost 20 years later as an artist, I still enjoy the illustrations and simple plot. Great for kids! Read more
Review:It is also interesting from an adult perspective because Mark Kelly explains the background of his idea for the book and relates it to his own experence. Also the book has interesting facts about NASA and the space program. Read more
Review:This came highly recommended by an English teacher friend of mine. Though it is a large book, much of it is taken up with an inventive use of illustration and historical photography. It is a treasure and I have purchased several copies as gifts for friends with children. Read more
