The Garner Files: A Memoir
The Garner Files: A Memoir

Review:Wonderful read. He lived an American life much like the Wright Brothers a generation earlier. The current generation is less fortunate to be without virtues but greater material comfort. I was intrigued that he didn't like Republicans or as he said, "I don't understand how they think." I feel the same way about Democrats. Garner was a great movie and TV star and I will miss him. Bless you. Read more

River Phoenix and the Hollywood He Left Behind - Last Night at the Viper Room
River Phoenix and the Hollywood He Left Behind - Last Night at the Viper Room

Review:I had been looking for a biography on River Phoenix for awhile and this seem to be the best out of a select few. Didn't like the writing style, flip flops back and forth...between River Phoenix, other actors at the time and The Viper Room. About half way through I gave up on reading it, which is extremely rare for me with books. Read more

Hitchcock (Revised Edition)
Hitchcock (Revised Edition)

Review:Hitchcock is overrated. That's my opinion. Yes, he made some great movies, but he also made the same movie about 20 times (at what point to we honestly feel suspense when in ALL* his movies the blonde ends up with the hero in the end).
Still, this book is great. Truffaut certainly did his homework and it shows as Hitchcock is candid about his movie making. It's a great look at how things were when he made movies and also is full of several good stories by Hitchcock. Read more

Review:I would highly recommend using Amazon Student because I found this book cheaper online than I did in my college book store. Plus I ordered my book less than three days before classes started and I got it bright and early Monday morning. Free shipping is always an added bonus when paying for heavy textbooks!

The book was in pristine condition when I got it, and I even bought it used. Kudos to Amazon! Read more

Enjoy Real Success without Losing Your True Self - Produced by Faith

Review:This book has been so inspirational to me. No surprise that God made me aware of this book at the exact time that I needed it. This book has changed my perspective on my life, the struggles that I have endured, and the plan for my life going forward. I now have hope where before I was overwhelmed and confused. Thank you, DeVon, for being such a strong man of God and for writing this book so that I could see clearly that God is my Director. I embrace my purpose in life. Glory be to God! Read more

Life Itself: A Memoir
Life Itself: A Memoir

Review:I have read Ebert since '91. He was always insightful on his reviews, and is in this book. I appreciated his honesty of his own mistakes in life. I liked him from afar but am glad I didn't know him up close. Quite a man, and a great writer. Worth the read. Read more
