Humor
Review:Texts from Jane Eyre is a chuckle-inducing collection of imaginary conversations between both fictional characters, and authors (to their fictional friends). As literary humor goes, it's on the nose, poking fun at everything from Hamlet's sullenness to Poe's crush on his cousin. It's not crass, but it also spares no prisoners. Some I found more funny than others, but overall this was great for a laugh. I recommend it for English majors the world over (as well as Lit professors/teachers, libraria... Read more
Review:You can always count on Robert Fulghum's books to be a good read. Truth, wisdom with a touch of humor. It is true, if our world would embrace the "kindergarten principles" then this would be a much better world. Read more
Review:This book contains all the lessons we need to know to lead a successful life. It is a reminder that we learned long ago the lessons we need in Kindergarten to be successful at whatever endeavor we choose. I recently used those lessons with my high school graduating seniors. It is worth repeating because I feel we have forgotten the lessons. Arthur L. Williams Ph.D. Principal Ann Arbor Huron High School. Read more
Review:After all of the publicity surrounding this novel, I found the content disappointingly non-stimulating. The character descriptions were good, but strange, and the plot was difficult and frustrating to follow. I would not read this book a second time. Read more
Review:If your kids are learning the parts of speech, this is such a fun game for them. My grandkids are 10 and 7 and they loved it and laughed so much. I filled in certain blanks in a story (noun, verb, etc.) according to what the kids said and then they read the story back. When you pick a random noun and then read it in a specific sentence, it can be pretty funny. Great learning tool. Would be good for a car or airplane trip too. Read more
Review:This book is an interesting take on an old theme. Chris made self help relatable to a group who is mostly overlooked by other authors in the genre. His unique approach activates the "nerdist" tendencies of most geeks and makes them motivators for positive change. It jumpstarted me to make a new budget and work to get healthier. I recommend this to any geek/nerd looking for a new direction. Read more
Review:I adored this story. Hank and Midge have a great story to tell and one that will have you swooning, crying, laughing, shaking your head and having all of the feels. It's great that you can continue with the characters from After Care in this story. So much of their lives are built on from their past, but the struggle is learning from, not quite forgetting about it, and moving on from it. Hank especially has to let it go and evolve into his new reality. he's learned a lot of life lessons, bu... Read more
Review:This novel is a satire telling about the career choice of one Nick Naylor. He "pays the mortgage" by being the chief spokesman for the main tabacco lobby. He justifies the killing of 465,000 people a year by claiming that smoking really is not bad for you and that much of the scientific data cannot be backed up. He becomes a character the reader loves to hate. The story is mainly one of satire towards the political correctness of Washington's finest, but he develops some sort of plot when Nic... Read more

Review:In my first clear memories of politics and world events, the Wall come down and we had to get used to live in the shadow of dieing Communist Empire, predicament that defined our lives and the world we lived in. Purported as so called End of The History, PAX AMERICANA lasted shorter then the war that produced it.
Now when the Project for the New American Century turned out to be the Project for the Last American century we live in the world best describe by the two books, American Psycho b... Read more
