Review:I really wanted to love this book, because I love Inside Amy Schumer. There were some really good chapters, but also some that I had to skip because they just weren't interesting or funny, in my opinion. I'm not interested in reading about the drawn-out argument Jessi had with her fiance on the trip when they were supposed to get engaged. I was also bored with the "shopping for a wedding dress" chapter, and referring to women as either wolves or poodles just felt petty/vain. The chapter about tr... Read more
Review:This book delivers!! Sarah Colonna is one funny a** person and a good story teller. I knew I would love it as much as the first one but I think it's even better. The stories are hilarious and VERY relatable, I loved reading about her mom and fiance Jon Ryan. Those chapters were very sweet. The cherry on top is that this book is very affordable!! Thanks Sarah :) Read more
Review:***Some spoilers***
I have only read Jackson's short story "The Lottery" and this book reminded me of that story. I wasn't expecting to read about shiny happy people with Jackson and the book certainly didn't disappoint in that respect. There were some very fascinating elements about the Blackwoods and the story in general but, as with the characters in The Lottery, no one was likable and no one was redeemable. I don't have an issue with unlikeable characters when there is a reason for their... Read more
Review:In one word: (excellently) weird! Children are supposed to be cute, benign, adorable. Not on this Scottish island though! Three down, one on its way, yet another kid briliantly wicked. Wasps, vipers, and dogs! of course. The book finishes in style. Read more
Review:Very well written in the style of Chabon, interesting characters and a concise and not abrupt resolution. I don't personally speak Pittsburgh, but I was able to follow what was going on even though I am not familiar with the various landmarks and streets that Chabon describes. A very quick read and I found it very satisfying with the characters easy to imagine. Read more
Review:There are many enjoyable anecdotes in this book, many laugh out loud stories! I highly recommend this book! However, doctors who actually survived their own surgical internships may not want to relive the experience. Read more
Review:This Is exactly what I wanted. No problems here. Not much to say about it other than it fulfills the needs that I wanted for this product. I enjoyed using this I guess? Seems reliable and trustworthy, but only time will tell. I've owned it for about 3 weeks, and it has no problems but I will give an update in a couple more weeks to see how it goes. Read more
Review:Again, because of my twisted sense of humor, I enjoy keeping this book out on my coffee table! It is interesting though, how many people won't look at it as if it's a dirty book, you need to convince some despite the title... Read more
Review:While many readers/reviewers are finding the books to be formulaic, I've found them to be a welcome departure from the show. It's an interesting way to see the not only the development of Dexter, but of Cody and Astor too. Looking forward to the next in the series. Read more
Review:The first three, I would laugh quite often from Dexter's self-effacing dry Wit. This one only gave me a few smiles. It lacked the tension of the previous Dexter... novels. I could barely stop reading them to go to bed, in fact I read each in two evenings. Only two times where Dex is in danger or stalking. While Astor's involvement was a twist, her role should have been opposite of what it was.
Still, good, just not as good. Read more
