Letters from a Nut
Letters from a Nut

Review:"Letters From a Nut," though hilarious, are written with just enough of a straight tone so as to be taken seriously. (God knows, there are enough real "nuts" out there capable of such quirky eccentricities). The letters, and the responses to them, are great fun to read. As for Ted L. Nancy, I think he's simply a very clever, imaginative comic with the kind of twisted comedic bent I enjoy most. I've spread the word about this thoroughly entertaining book...my sister and a couple of friends hav... Read more

the First Two Books in the Meg Langslow Series (Meg Langslow Mysteries)
the First Two Books in the Meg Langslow Series (Meg Langslow Mysteries)

Review:I love this series! Donna Andrews goes light on the contrived drama and eye-rolling situations of typical cozies. The kooky goofiness of her family is very endearing, and contributes to stories that are just FUN. This 2-in-one volume is a great introduction to the Meg mysteries. She is a smart, capable, and unique heroine that I would love to be a real-life friend. Read more

Written on the Body
Written on the Body

Review:I think this book is an excellent work! Jeanette Winterson weaves the fabric of modern relationship and she uses it to emphasize the value of true love. I love the way she tells the story! She employs a lot of figures of speech and the invisible feelings become something that the reader is able to obtain. Also, every question mark she puts would carry some philosophical meaning and would make me ponder for a while. This book is really full of content and also literary technique. Read more

Super Sad True Love Story: A Novel
Super Sad True Love Story: A Novel

Review:This novel was okay, but I was pretty disappointed. I think that the whole "1984 as if Nabokov had written it" is entirely off. It's mostly a love story that happens to take place in the near future. The dystopian theme is really on the back burner, so saying that it's anywhere similar to 1984 is untrue. The book itself is okay, but nothing great. I'd suggest borrowing it from the library or something rather than actually buying it. Read more
