Review:This is a funny book. Just what a reader expects from this writing team.
Jamie is a small town newspaper owner and her silent partner happens to be a very wealthy and very handsome man named Max.
He is an interesting character although a wee bit improbable. But, there is nothing that Max cannot do either with his technical knowledge or his immense wealth. His secretary is a computer program who develops symptoms of a pregnancy out of sympathy for a pregnant woman. As you can see, t... Read more
Review:Stephanie is every gals want to be. Once you finish "One for the Money" you are captivated. By the moment you are on 3 you are searching the web for a deal on all the others. Janet Evanowich knows how to grasp your curiosity. Each character has your attention. I finally got to the point I read a book a night. A few books the story line wasn't there for me but just the characters themselves were worth reading the book. Let's dream on for Stephanie. I do not know anyone who could put down any... Read more
Review:My CD collection of the original unabridged version read by the original narrators added a humorous good natured atmosphere to the listening experience. The new releases are flat. Not much interest in discerning between the characters is evident. Hardly worth replacing my collection. My memory will have to do. Read more
Review:Stephanie Plum has an unenviable task in HOT SIX, her sixth adventure. Ricardo Carlos Manoso--aka Ranger--is wanted for questioning in the murder of Homer Ramos, the son of international black-market arms dealer Alexander Ramos. Ranger's been caught on camera leaving the building where he had a meeting with Homer, right before the building explodes. Ranger, the mystery man with a never-ending supply of cash and cars and no known address, has also missed a recent court date...and Vinnie, Steph... Read more
Review:You find out right at the beginning of the book that between the last one and this one she and Morelli have already been in a relationship and broken up. The one thing you've been waiting to happen for 4 BOOKS and the author cuts you out of it. Oh, you reading this for Stephanie and Morelli's relationship? Joke's on you. How rude of this author. Such a disappointment. I wish I never had invested the time or money into reading this series. Read more
Review:Got ahead of myself on this one. Expected a CD; surprised by the LP. Having most of the relatively few albums Wes M. made, I'm sure I will like it. Perhaps this will give me the push I need to get several Duals and a BIC turntable refurbished. Read more
Review:I usually love the whole Stephanie Plum series, so much that I can't wait for the paperback and I end up buying the expensive hardcover as soon as it's released. I wish I had saved my $4 on this paperback. BORING! I'm halfway through and trying to decide if I should just toss it or finish it. Now that I've wasted my money on something that gives me no enjoyment, I hate to waste my time too. Just to be safe, I may have to wait for #14 to come out in paperback rather then buy it in hardcover... Read more
Review:I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via Edelweiss.
Goodbye, Vitamin is the type of book that could get overlooked because it’s all about the intangibles, but don’t make the mistake of overlooking this one! Though this story is about a sad and serious topic, it has a lightness to it and is amusing at times. The story is told through Ruth’s journal entries that read like little vignettes, a format that worked for me in this case because I absolutely adored Ruth’s... Read more
Review:I disclose up front that I am a huge Sedaris fan. "Me Talk Pretty One Day" was one of the most acidly funny books I ever read, and his short story "The Santaland Diaries" is nothing less than a masterpiece. And, I do not expect Sedaris to be "funny." Much of his most elegant prose, especially about his family, is not. But I admit to being very disappointed in "When You Are Engulfed in Flames."
I cannot explain exactly why I was disappointed. It's not that the writing, overall, was ba... Read more
Review:Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating is another terrific read by the queens of rom com, authors Christina Lauren. I laughed out loud and was moved by this story and it’s quirky, eclectic cast of characters. Especially Hazel and her self-deprecating humor.
Authors Christina Lauren use such vivid and descriptive language when creating their amazing characters and their world. josh and Hazel are no exception. The situations they got themselves into were hysterical, sweet, and sexy AF.
