I'm a big fan of Ms. Ashley-- she lets it rip and keeps on going it a satisfying complex weave of relationship issues, personal insecurities and harrowing suspenseful events. But here not so much. Our hero and heroine are extremely likable. Hannah, is a delightful Everygirl who finally gets to be with the man of her dreams and can hardly believe it. Raid is an Alpha good guy with burning issues who finds his reward after a hard life. But as others have mentioned in their reviews, there just wasn't enough time spent on these burning issues between them. Sigh. This book almost felt like an outline for a KA novel without being filled in the with the rich moments and details. The hero and heroine seemed to get together really quickly. And the style was a bit strained and awkward-- Too many stunted sentences which are supposed to express Hannah's emotions. "oh. my. god." "wow" in her point of view, back to back almost every time she had an epiphany. But it came off a wee bit tedious after a while and teenager-ish. Didn't like it, didn't draw me in.

Raid suffers from post traumatic stress syndrome after his nasty war experiences. When Hannah tries to broach the subject he blows up at her instantly, shuts down and breaks up with her in a harsh way. He regrets his behavior, they deal, and come together and she encourages him to express himself with a war buddy. And yay!-- all is resolved. I don't think so. In any other KA book this sort of Hero secret issue would have been dealt with in a bigger way, not to mention KA would have had Hannah framing his war photo in some fabulous frame and giving it pride of place in their home together. Am I right?? Anyhow, our Raid needs professional counseling, don't you think? Here it got nicely swept under the rug and I'm supposed to believe all is well.

I completely agree with another reviewer who felt very disappointed that although our couple's first night together was yes terribly exciting, then the second half of it was (again) swept away. In the wise reviewer's words-- It was a pivotal night!! I agree! Mega pivotal! It's mentioned over and over again later on and I felt utterly cheated that we didn't get to experience it because it was indeed a pivotal event in their growth as lovers. She was a vanilla girl who realized she could push the envelope a bit more than she thought with the man of her dreams. Hot! And he's delirious that after that night she really is the one for him-- sweet and hot! Great, love it, so where is it?

I also agree with another reviewer who mentioned that Raid is a bounty hunter/commando dude, so yes, where was it? (calling Hawk and Nightingale boys, please!) I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get to see our Alpha Badass be an Alpha Badass. Esp. when his woman gets attacked. Hello! We see him in the hospital and then...Hannah is home and we're cozy again. I also find it hard to believe that he NEVER set her up with a super security detail (just new locks on her doors!!) like all the other KA heroes have done for their women (see Rock Chick series). Someone call Lee Nightingale please!! And the set up of crime entanglement trouble to come was good but unfortunately didn't go anywhere. Great to see visits from favorite characters of other books, always fun!

Oh yes -- The inevitable surprise visit from the wacky ex girlfriend was wild!

AND, Kristen THANK YOU for dealing with it with Anya in Knight and THANK YOU for bringing it up again with Hannah here. No need for your author's note about Hannah's body issue, I thought. And I LOVED the way you presented it with Hannah. SO TRUE TO LIFE!!! Hooray! You deal with it well, not over the top and whiny at all. Keep them coming! Your stories are always about real women, not cutouts.

I enjoyed this read, it was touching, sexy, but unfortunately there were too many gaps. And it didn't pull me in and rock my world like almost all of KA's other stories have. So i walked a way a wee bit disappointed. Towards the end the story kept jumping ahead weeks, months, etc. and I felt I got put on the express train to conclusionville.

In my opinion, as far as the Unfinished Hero series goes (love that term!): Knight was intriguing and dark, Creed was epic and extremely emotional and satisfying, and Raid was good. Thanks again for the ride KA! And I know all your fans are super excited and eager to read new work, but take your time and do what you feel you need to do!!

PS/ I found it amusing that although this book was published under a mega publishing house, there are still plenty of typos. And I mention this because so much has been made of KA's typos and grammar missteps when she was self-publishing! Whatever!

At first, I was worried thinking this book was going to be the same. In some ways, it was like the others but in other ways, it was different and I am so glad they still used the people from books 1 & 2 in it.

A wild ride, love, lust, sex, a little on the explicit side but truly a love story of a Veteran and the good girl. Great, realistic characters and a rollercoaster of emotions and life stories. Really enjoyed this one!

I was thrilled to see the third book, RAID, come out, nonetheless, I was disappointed with the book. It is half the length of all the authors other books and does not feel finished. Kirsten Ashley books always seems a good buy and are always entertaining, but I was very disappointed in this rushed job. Her characters were not as developed as usual and stilted. Eh....not her best work.

I always enjoy all KA books! She ties you in emotionally for the characters and you always have a good time reading it! The only thing I was disappointed with for this book was that there wasn't as much suspense like there are in all of her other books.

Another miss for me. Sometimes I like Kristen Ashley and sometimes I don't and when I don't I really don't as in cannot finish the book don't. The beginning was okay but just okay. The heroine could have been interesting but had absolutely no spine and when the hero got physical with her it she took him back way too easily. Personally I thought the guy was sick, and I have a high tolerance for the alpha male but this guy was really off. The heroine was flat and dull and the book did nothing for me. I did not finish it.

I actually really enjoyed this book the only thing I really didn't like is how the characters spoke especially Raid and Hannah how they spoken drove me crazy. But other than that it was a very cute and enjoyable book.

Cute, funny, sexy. I put down another book to read this and I was not disappointed, it was nice to see previous character, not a lot of action like her Rock Chick series, but enough to hold your breath!

I would give this a 3.5 stars, but there are no .5 options, so 4 stars it is. I have to say that I was quite surprised by the "Alpha" writing in this book. It is a little different than her other books I have read, Rock Chick Series. This one is a little more extreme in the Alpha role than what it is in that particular series. (Not a really big fan on this "type" of Alpha.) I don't really know about her other series, because I haven't gotten to them. Yet. There are 2 other books in this series and I read the reviews on them and had no desire to read them because of it. However, after reading an excerpt on Kristen's website about Raid, I was highly intrigued to read it. I am really glad I did give Raid a shot. Now, I am EXTREMELY intrigued to read the first two books as well! Why would I be after I just mentioned not liking "this type of Alpha"? Because everything beyond that is an awesome story! AND because I can actually understand the Alpha's actions. On top of that, both Knight (first book of series) and Creed (second book of series) are both mentioned in this one. Don't get me wrong, you do NOT need to read the first two books before this one. You will not get confused or lost.

Now, anyone who knows my reviews, I do NOT write out the story in them. Why read the book if I do???? ( I HATE THAT!!) With that said: You will read about a young lady, Hanna, who is shy, sweet and yet strong even though she is unaware she is strong. You will read about a man, Raid, who goes through extreme trials that build him into an extreme Alpha. You will fall in love with their story and want more. I will say that if not for KC, Hanna's best friend, I probably would have had an even harder time excepting Raid's behavior.

I would recommend this book. I think it is not only a good read, it also has a few underlining messages to us women. Hell, for anyone!! At the end of the book, please keep reading, you will find a message from the Author. I am really glad I read it. Happy reading!!

Raid is the third book in Kristen Ashley's Unfinished Heroes series, following Knight (The Unfinished Hero Series) and Creed (Unfinished Heroes).

Yes, I am a huge fan of KA's work. Yes, I gave this book 3 stars (which, by the way, does NOT mean I hated it; it means I thought it was "OK"). Yes, I expect all of KA's fans to start immediately marking this review as "unhelpful" and, yes, I decided to write it anyway.

What's the point of writing reviews (or reading them, either) if they're not honest? If a reader honestly thinks a book was worthy of 5 stars then, by all means, they should give it the 5 stars. But if a reviewer is giving a book 5 stars strictly on the basis of author loyalty, then the whole reviewing system becomes worthless for the potential readers of any given book. Do you get me?

OK, off my soapbox and on to the book. This is the story of alpha hot guy Raiden Ulysses Miller, former marine, current "off the grid" bounty hunter and Hanna Bourdeaux, a quiet, nice girl who enjoys books and movies and creates designer afghans for a living - and who has been in love with Raid since she was 6 years old.

I liked Hanna and I liked Raid, but... to me, Raid was just a rehashed combination of Knight and Hawk (from Mystery Man). In fact, he spoke exactly like Knight. There wasn't too much of anything original about the character. Hanna was a combination of Gwen (also from Mystery Man) and Lexie (from Lady Luck), two of my favorite KA heroines, but she lacked the strength of personality of either of them. Again, nothing to make her stand out as a character to love.

Knight and Anya, Creed and Sylvie, Nick Sebring and, unexpectedly, Marcus Sloane (from the Rock Chicks series) all make brief appearances in this book. And I will give my vote to Hanna's grandmother as being the book's best character.

I guess if you've devoured all of KA's books, as I have, then you will want to read this book - but I think the "sameness" of it will be readily apparent. If you are new to KA's work, you might enjoy it more. Although this is Book 3 of the series, I believe it can be read as a standalone without there being any confusion regarding back stories.

Adult language and sexual content.

Wow, I connected with these characters and found them more believable than some of Ms Ashleys others. The story was fast paced and had enough action to keep it hot but didn't overwhelm the story. This is my favorite series by Ms. Ashley so far. Keep up the great work. A must read for sure.

This is my first review, so if you comment, please be nice? Lol

WARNING: Some spoilers.

I read this book in one day. That's right, I devoured it. I was so excited for a new KA novel that I didn't know what to do with myself. I probably would have read it in one sitting if I didn't have a dog and a life. It is *short* (say it ain't so!) for a KA novel. Honestly, I'd almost call it a novella for her. And it felt that way for me. There were story lines that I think could have been more developed and in doing so it would have enriched this Romance. (Read: Not Erotica, sorry! This was a Romance, maybe a Romantica, but IMO that would even be a stretch.)

I wanted to love Hanna, the heroine, as much as I loved her hero, Raid. I really did. But I couldn't. She kind of got on my last nerve at times (after they "do the business" the first time and she has the ridiculous desire to do a runner, her reaction to their first fight is to stay and clean his house? She NEVER used a key before Raid, even tough she lives in the "boonies" all by her lonesome? Um. No. Not in 2013. Or 1913.)

I wanted to love Raid. And I did. Like, hello new book boyfriend love. I love love love love him! His job was nowhere NEAR Knight's shocker of a job in the first Unfinished hero book. To be honest, I think it is a good job for being illegal (is it though? Hmm. I'd overlook that in a heartbeat if I were Hanna.) He was exactly how I like my KA hero. Bossy? Check. Physical, in a good (and bad- just a few times, I swear!) way? Check. Possessive? Definitely. Totally into his girl Hanna? Oh, yeah.

Overall, I give this book a solid 3.75 stars. The plot was good, no real drama and then..BAM! Something really bad happens to Hanna...and then...we started skipping time into the future. Three weeks here, two months there, etc. I know that KA has always done this and I usually really really like that. But for whatever reason, I felt...cheated. Why cant we see how Raid lost his mind after Hanna is hurt? Or how they helped each other heal from her ordeal? How they found the drug lord. You get my drift. Basically, the story felt a little rushed for a KA novel. But...would I read it again? Yup. (I always do with Kristen Ashley Creation!) Would I recommend it? Yup again.

This is another fantastic example of KA awesomeness. I love all of her books but there's something extra special about the Unfinished Heroes, the character and story development are second to none and they manage to be both moving and hot without ever losing the intensity of either. Make the time to read it, you won't regret it. :)

I am sad to have to agree with others. Great characters as usual for KA but too rushed
And too short. Just when a plot development starts you get a rushed resolution to it.
I love her other books because of the meaty and well developed twists and turns that
let you get to know and love her characters.

Some reviews do not like the formulaic stories of KA, but I like knowing that when I read one of her books I know exactly what I will get: an alpha male that is not afraid to love and protect his woman and a woman that learns to love that man. This story does not disappoint. KA is my favorite author - her books are the only ones that I read and re-read multiple times.

Who We Love - Raid Miller and Hanna Boudreaux

Why we Love Them -

Bravo, Kit, for another incredible installment to the Unfinished Heroes Series. I loved the story, loved the intensity, the fact that you brought in some of our other favorite characters from your series.

Now, on to Raid and Hanna.

First up - Raid. This guy has been through hell and back and I applaud KA on tackling a character who has issues that many people coming back from war are dealing with - PTSD. Further, I applaud the fact that this is handled in a realistic way. Some people are going to read a couple of scenes where he has nightmares and what happens when he wakes up and be appalled at how Hanna handles it. To those people, people who see his actions as abusive and how she reacts as weak, I say shame on you. That is all I have to say on the subject, otherwise I'll get all preachy and no one wants that. :)

Next up - Hanna. What a girl! This girl is me, she's you. She's a family girl, she's shy and she's determined. She made a decision to change her life for the better and she didn't look back. She is open and friendly to people and even after being betrayed, she doesn't lose that. She's got backbone, she doesn't allow herself to be used and she's, at heart, a caretaker. She genuinely gets a thrill out of taking care of the people she loves. We see this with her friends and her grandmother and then we get to see it with Raid. I love this girl and I can see why Raid would too.

Now on to KA herself - you seriously cannot write a bad book. It's just not possible!

I do have a criticism though, and it's not something that the rest of the wonderfulness of the book can help me overlook.

The first time that Raid and Hanna make love/have sex, its important. It's pivotal. It is a deciding factor of whether or not Hanna has what it takes to be with Raid. If she can handle what he is.

And we never see it.

We don't even know what happened other than what we can piece together from the rest of the book about Raid's lovemaking - he's dominant and likes control. Doesn't really tell us much about what was so un-vanilla about their first time.

Worse, we can't move on from this because it's referenced on more than one occasion in the rest of the novel and we don't have that scene to look back on. There is no point of reference for us. The first time it was mentioned after the fact I was disappointed because I kept thinking 'what are they talking about???' ... and I'm sorry, Kit, you've never disappointed me before but this time I can't deny that I was.

Having that one scene in the book would have changed everything for me, for the experience of reading the book. And let me tell you, every time I read a KA book, it is an experience.

That said, this is still a wonderful book. I'm still going to read it over and over again as I do with all Kit's books and I still love it. I just could have loved it more.

I want to make it clear that I downloaded and read the sample before I bought the book because I wanted to make an informed decision. In the sample, "Raid" and Hanna hadn't met yet. I also want to make it clear that I stopped reading the book about 30% in because I couldn't take it anymore. I think I'm going to give up reading romances.

Let's talk about the hero's name - Raid. Bug spray, right? I thought I could probably get over it, but I found that I couldn't. Its a stupid name.

Secondly, I can't stand men who don't have the manners to censor their language around women. They don't have to totally clean it up, but he talks to Hanna like a marine in a conversation with other marines. He watches it around "Grams" but not around Hanna. This to me, communicates disrespect. It also makes Raid (God, I really hate that name) seem dumb. There are ways to write an alpha dog without making him into a complete jerk. Raid just struck me as a jerk.

Hanna was a bumbling idiot. The idea that one quilter can supply 200 stores with quilts and preserves is simply a logistical impossibility. The fact that she just goes along with everything he says and does - it's like she's not even a person. It makes her seem desperate. I really just hated this book. I gave it 2 stars because apparently this is a typical book for this author and she does have a following who really likes her work. It's not her fault that this particular reader isn't picking up what she's putting down.

>Book Review – Raid
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 3rd in the Unfinished Hero series and ends in an HEA. Hanna is a good girl. She is a crafter, self-employed and a lifelong resident of her home town. She takes care of her great grandma and has had a crush on a certain boy her whole life. Hanna’s grandma is hysterical and seems a bit clairvoyant. She always seems to give great advice to all.
>Raiden is the town’s golden boy. He is an ex-Marine, suffering from PTSD, and a bounty hunter. This book has glimpses of characters from previous books in this series, like Knight, Anya, Creed and Sylvie. I would have liked some chapters from Raid’s perspective when he was telling Hanna what he does for a living. To see how scared he was to lose her would have solidified how much he loved her.
>I love how Hanna decides to stop her silly crush on Raid and start paying attention to herself. Her positive self-changes cause Raid to finally notice her. Hanna is all positive and light, but decides to learn to live in the grey area with Raid.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. Spot the cat is a source of humor. The romance between Raid and Hanna is so sweet. The PTSD that Raid suffers really fits his personality and the story.

Hannah Boudreaux, is the towns sweetheart. She's sweet and loving and takes care of her great-grandma, who is hands down the greatest old granny there ever was. She's outspoken and ornery and she loves Hannah. She's the town matriarch.
Hannah, has had a crush on Raiden Miller since she was six years old, but he's never noticed her.. until now. He's hot, too y'all. So hot. That mouth on him, whooo!
Unfortunatley, it starts with a little hiccup that really had me hurting for Hannah, we all know what it's like to have an unrequited crush on someone and then Hannah thought she finally got a chance with him just for it to be ruined by a misunderstanding. Raid didn't let it go on though, they worked things out... although some things were easier to work out than others.

I liked that PTSD was touched on, it's a very real thing for a lot of people and I liked how it was handled. I also liked that Raid thought Hannah was his reward. Was that not the sweetest?
I've read and re-read this book, this series and all the other ones by this author and I adore them all!
It'd been a while since I"d read this one and it makes me want to jump right back into Creed, because seriously.... he's hot too. So is, Knight and Deacon, and heck, even Nick...
I just wanted to revisit the sweetness that was Hannah and the sexiness that was Raiden. I also was in the mood for a sweet, HEA. Great read!

I am revisiting all the books by KA that I did not write a review on. Plus I do love rereading her work. I still love Raid and Hanna. I love there dynamic, relationship, and all the hard parts. Even though this is one of KAs "shortest" books its one of my favorites. Raiden is dangerous, but he's loyal, loving, and doesn't mess around with Hanna. Now, Hanna has loved Raid most of her life, but not until she starts to live her life. She has made new friends and has somewhat changed her outward appearance of the hair and toned up a bit. Raid starts to notice her and when we find out one of the main reasons I was crushed like Hanna was. But Raid confronts her about it right away and we see the other reason too. There relationship was refreshing because there was not a lot of drama between them and if there was they dealt with it right away. The bad revolves around there story, but in the end Raid seeks vengeance. Something that heals himself, Hanna, and there relationship to move forward.

Raid by Kristen Ashley
Ah man, another great book I fished too quick.
Hanna is just the sweetest and caring person also shes there to take care of his old grandmother. Hanna has been in love with Raiden since she was a little girl always looked up to him but he never notices her until she decided to do something about her car. Raiden is known around town as the local hero being a former marine but he has demons. When he finally sees her for who she is he asks her out but not realizing she overhead his conversation and they have a misunderstanding. Raiden being the alpha macho puts a stop to her trying to end things and shows her that he is all in with her. I thought they were cute together and even if Raiden has issues he still worked it out with Hanna. Hanna was sweet trying to be wild for her man but that's what Raiden loves about her, her sweetness.

Not sherriff. Seriously, eight times.........every time.

In Kristen Ashley speak:
'Don't know, beta readers or payin an editor. Beta reader, babe, not a good gig for you. Editor, WTF, not earnin that paycheck, babe. You get this?'

Okay, rant over. This book is not edited any worse than any of her other books. The 'sherriff' thing just REALLY got to me.

RAID is a good book. I enjoyed it more than CREED but less than KNIGHT. KNIGHT is hotter, sexier, and I like the main characters more. RAID is just a bit less of all those things.

I loved it.
There is humor, romance and suspense.
Hanna's grandmother is a hoot.
Both Hanna and Raid grow into better people through their experiences.
It is well written and flows beautifully.
There are a few editing errors or typos. This is unusual for a Kristen Ashley book.

So next up for the Unfinished Hero series by Kristen Ashley is Raiden Ulysses Miller. Just like the rest of the men in this series, he too was another badass alpha hero who wasn’t hard to love.

Raid and Hanna’s story was great not my favorite of the series, but I still enjoyed. Hanna was a sweetheart, and she made me laugh many times with her action and her banter. Her Grams was a hoot and reminded me of my very own Granma, who at ninety-four is still as lively as ever. Raid well what can I say when he notices Hanna Boudreaux she is all he see and would do anything for her and Grams.

I know I must sound like a broken record, but I have so much love for KA and the amazing badass alpha males and the strong independent woman that she creates. Seeing Knight, Anya, Creed and Sylvie again added to my enjoyment. Love Knight <3 <3

Next up is Deacon, can’t wait for that one.

Love, love, loved brooding, macho, alpha Raiden Miller! And I loved sweet, quirky Hanna Boudreaux for him! I cried real tears for Gram and laughed out loud at grumpy Spot!

“‘Cause all you gotta know is it’s gonna be you—and only you—until the day I die, because life did not lead me down the wrong path when I fell in love with a girl who had the sun shining in her hair who would eventually not do it for me. You’re not just enough for me. You’re everything I want. So that works for me.”

"Cause all you gotta know is its gonna be you - and only you - until the day I die, because life did not lead me down the wrong path when I fell in love with a girl who had the sun shining in her hair who would eventually not do it for me. You're not just enough for me. You're everything I want. So that works for me."...

Kristen Ashley's Raid is the third in the Unfinished Heroes series, and follows in the footsteps of Knight and Creed. This one also contains an alpha-male who operates just under the radar. Hanna Boudreaux has lived her whole life in Willow, Colorado, a small town where things are the same, routine, boring...maybe? She makes a comfortable living putting up preserves and making high end afghans. These are not your grandmother's crocheted ones; these are cashmere and fine wool and things of beauty. Since she was a child she noticed one guy-Raiden Ulysses Miller-"Raid". Problem was- he never noticed her.

After high school, Raid joined the Marines. Following a devastating incident, he returns to Willow. And once again, fails to notice Hanna. This seems to be the final straw for Hanna, who finally decides to stop being a spectator in her own life. She changes her looks, travels, kicks up her business a few notches to bring in more income that she can spend on a new look, new attitude, new shoes..and guess who notices her?

There is some smokin' hot chemistry between Hanna and Raid. Raid, like the other males in the Unfinished Heroes series, likes things a little kinky, a little less vanilla. These two are from two different worlds; his is dangerous and full of secrets. Hers on the surface is uncomplicated and transparent. She has troubles she knows nothing about yet, but their lives intersect and collide. Can Hanna live with Raid utilizing his particular skill set and contacts to earn his lucrative income?

"I thought I could withstand the heat but I can't. I wanted to go slow. You pushed us to go fast and I didn't have enough good times stored up, your smiles, your laughter, there wasn't enough to take the heat."

Can Raid let his guard down and let Hanna in his heart as well as his bed?

"I don't know about other men but I've played games and, in the end, found out what I've won wasn't worth the trouble of winning."

The story is told in alternating POV's and familiar characters from previous Ashley books; Knight, Anya, Creed, Sylvie and even Marcus Sloan make appearances. Though this book could be read as a stand-alone, these cross overs are like old friends coming for Sunday dinner. Things become complicated, former bedmates cause problems and an old nemesis creates mayhem. Raid has just the right amount of grit, angst and steam to keep readers content. Raid Miller will not fail to mesmerize, and captivate. He is direct, suffers no fools, and forward and coarse enough to command attention and cause all those female bits to tingle with his straight shooting from the hip style of speech. As with all of Ashley's books, this one does not disappoint.

"You're my reward, Hanna."

I received an ARC for this book in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 Stars

Raiden Miller may not be a hero, but there is nothin' unfinished about this man, in my opinion;) Kristen Ashley has pulled another winner out of that fertile imagination of hers!!

Hanna Boudreaux is sweet, cute and quiet. She's lived in the same town, Willow, Colorado, her entire life. She also happens to be the great-granddaughter of the town's beloved matriarch. Raiden Miller is an ex-Marine who returned home with medals and a hero status. He's also more than a little bit of a mystery. When Raid takes a seemingly sudden interest in Hanna, she has to wonder why. And especially, why now? After all, they've lived in the same town for years, and, while Hanna's crushed on him for ages, he's never once paid her any attention. Have years of silent devotion finally paid off for Hanna, or is the mystery of Raiden Miller about to be solved?

OMG, can I tell you just how *badly* I needed a Kristen Ashley fix?! Seriously, I was in a bad way! So, as soon as I received the book, I swept everything else aside and READ THIS IN ONE SITTING! I'm pretty sure you can tell from my exuberant use of shouty caps that I was jazzed to read this;) And, WOW, Kristen Ashley did not disappoint!!

Hanna is an adorable, sweet and lovely character. She's someone I could easily see myself being friends with. She's less ballsy and a bit more everyday-girl than many of Kristen's heroines, and, you know what? I LOVE that!! She has a special relationship and connection with her great-grandmother, who she takes care of, and enjoys doing so. That resonates strongly with me as I had a very close relationship with and deep love for my own grandmother. Spot the cat, who goes back and forth between Hanna and her great-grandmother, is another favorite of mine;)

Truthfully, though, the star of this show is Raiden Miller. Like all Kristen Ashley heroes, he's big, gorgeous, tough, mysterious and very alpha. I do feel like he has an ability to laugh, smile and enjoy life that some of the men Kristen writes usually don't. It only serves to make him that much more attractive. He isn't constantly walking around *demanding*. He actually tries to consider Hanna's feelings...well, okay...at least, once in a while;) I really enjoy this combination of alpha-man and a wee smidge of enlightened-man. It makes Raid very interesting, sexy and a lot of fun to read about!

Raid and Hanna, together, have fantastic chemistry! I mean, it IS Kristen Ashley after all;) These two pack a punch, in and out of bed!! Their relationship is tempestuous and sexy. It's fun and cute. It's all the best things that this author is so good at giving us.

When I read a story by Kristen Ashley, it lights me up inside. I don't know how else to describe it. There is some kind of magic at work there because her books never fail to get a reaction from me. They never fail to make me feel like I just came home. That's what reading Raid felt like to me. It felt like coming home. That, for me, is something special and rare. Thank you for always giving me that, Kristen Ashley:)

“You think I’m a man who’s got a thing that good, he’ll let it go?”
“No,” I whispered.
“That would be f*** no,” he corrected.

Following on from ‘Knight’ and ‘Creed’, Kristen Ashley’s third instalment in her Unfinished Heroes series introduces us to Hanna Boudreaux and Raiden Ulysses Miller. Growing up in the small town of Willow, Colorado, Hanna has spent most of her life fascinated by Raiden Miller. A local hero – and an ex-marine to boot – Raiden is everything Hanna has ever wanted; her and every other girl in town. After seeing ‘her’ Raiden in a clinch with a big-breasted skank (but the kind of skank that make skanky look workable) Hanna makes the decision to revamp her life. In her quest to change herself, Hanna doesn’t see Raiden Miller for five months but, little does she know, he sees her.

Raid returns from the marines a broken man. Having lost the majority of his Unit, he suffers with recurring nightmares and struggles to adapt to life as a civilian. Taking on work for Knight Sebring along side Tucker Creed, Raid uses his tracking abilities to try and find the person behind the attacks on Knight’s family and business. What Raid does not expect is to have his head turned by

Having devoured the first two books in this series, I can safely say that I was chomping at the bit for the release of ‘Raid’ and I was not disappointed! Raiden follows the typical KA alpha male form; he’s protective, direct and physically powerful. Kristen has also given Raid a softer side; which is evident in his treatment of both the females in his family, Miss Mildred and Hanna.

This book, like ‘Knight’ and ‘Creed’ before it, contains some light elements of BDSM. Those Readers who are not a fan of this genre needn’t be put off though as they really are ‘light’.

As it is the third book in a series, I wouldn’t recommend this as a stand-alone book. There are references to events in the previous books and Readers are likely to become confused regarding some elements of the plot if they haven’t read ‘Knight’ and ‘Creed’.

Considering I devoured this book in a matter of a few short hours, it’s safe to say I thought it was brilliant! Yet again, Kristen has managed to create a lovable rogue and approachable heroine without compromising her plot; and I for one can’t wait for Book #4!

Hi, my name is Suzanne and I am a Kristen Ashley Addict. ~ Under the Covers

WARNING! This review is completely bias by my fanatical love of Kristen Ashley, if you are looking for a well balanced review...walk on by *starts to hum Dionne Warwick*

Hanna Boudreaux has lived in Willow a small town in Colorado all her life, and she has been in love with Raiden Ulysses Miller for most of that time. But, she soon realizes loving him from afar is futile he will never notice her, she is too shy and boring and although she may never have Raid she comes to the realization she needs to spice her life up a little. When Raid does soon notice Hanna, especially after having to investigate her and he is determined to make her his.

As the warning warned you I am a crazy Kristen Ashley fan, I can't help it! My theory is that she laces all her books with crack, `cos I just inhale them, I can't stop thinking about them...all that's on my mind is when I can get my next Kit Fix... I need it in the morning before I can even think of facing the day and I need her mens alpha loving before I can get a wink of sleep at night. Hi, my name is Suzanne and I am a Kristen Ashley Addict.

Buuut, on to Raid. I loved it (as you may have guessed) it had everything I look for, the sweet and goofy heroine that I can't help but identify with a little and completely want to steal for a new BFF and her sexy alpha hero, who I can't help but want to trip and ride to the floor! But also, at the heart of it, it is a sweet romance, that I lap up like a chocolate covered Kane "Tack" Allen, of two soul mates finding each other. The Unfinished Heroes series is supposed to be slightly more erotic than Kristen Ashley's other series and it is, Raid likes to be in control which is knicker changingly hot experience, but don't go into Raid expecting an erotic book as although it is sexy, to me it didn't quite tip the scales to erotic romance.

If you are already a fan of Kit then you will love this book, if you aren't than get a freaking clue and start reading immediately! I am now waiting impatiently for the her next book!

This review appeared at My Secret Romance Book Reviews.

Raiden had made it worth it.
Completely.
That was hot.
It was amazing.
And it was beautiful.

Those words sum up Raid by Kristen Ashley. It was hot, it was amazing, and it was beautiful.

Kristen Ashley managed to put two things into this book that just make me swoon (yes, I said swoon!), hot alpha-male and a wounded warrior. Both all wrapped up in one neat, sexy, OMG package known as Raid.

Hanna is the town sweetheart. She’s sweet, she friendly and everyone loves her. Raid is the town’s good-boy turned hero. Little does the town know he harbors a secret. A big one. One that could tear Hanna and Raid apart. Can she handle it? Can she “deal”?

This was an amazing story from the very beginning. Hanna crushed on Raid for years, her whole life. Raid never knew she existed. Hanna’s dream crush died one day and she set out to make her life better. And when she did, Raid took notice. He noticed in a BIG way!!

Hanna has to learn to deal with Raid’s secret, his bossy alpha-maleness, his PTSD from military service, and his playing in the bedroom. And when Raid wants to play, everyone better hold on because it is HOT, HOT, HOT!

Hanna and Raid’s story burns up the sheets, the pages, and anyone who reads it. It’s hot, it’s sexy and it’s heart wrenching. Raid has so many issues to work through, all stemming from his military duty. Hanna is the one who can tame the fire burning inside, but can she survive it?

My swoon moment:

“You planted kids inside her or you hope to, you do it for them. You get home in one piece, she’s your reward.” His body pressed into mine and his face, partly shadowed, came to within an inch of mine. “You’re my reward, Hanna.”
My reward.
Oh.
My.
God.

This was one of my least favorite Kristen Ashely books to date. That being said, it wasn’t bad (I don’t think KA capable of bad). It just wasn’t good either. Ideally I would rate this 2.5 stars because it just did not work for me, but I just don’t have the heart to give KA anything below a 3 star rating. I never at any point felt a spark for the characters or plot in this read. :(
The storyline never held me captive or sparked my interest. I actually found myself growing bored on multiple occasions. The heroine, Hanna, made me cringe. I cannot tell you how many times she was referred to as CUTE, SHY, or just SWEET. Speaking of repetitive word use, it also got very tiresome them constantly referring to one another as honey and sweetheart every couple of sentences. Hanna just came across as weak to me. Anytime Raid mentioned doing something, or how to proceed, she simply said Ok, or something to that nature. She seemed so un-opinionated about anything besides her childhood crush and obsession with Raid. Her lack of interesting personality traits left me uninterested. This is just one book I can't say I would recommend.

10 stars. Screw only 5 stars. I don't even know where to begin with how much I love this book. Kristen Ashley knocked it out of the park again. I don't think she can do any story wrong.

Ok, what did I love about this book? First of all, Hanna. I can feel how she felt, crushing on a guy for years who didn't see her. Who didn't take notice. I love how she took an inventory of her life, decided there was more to life and did something about it. She didn't get bitchy or bitter that Raid wasn't into her, that her exes all dumped her. She took a look at how she lived her life and decided there was to life than work, reading and relaxing, and she made the change. She didn't do this in hopes of winning over Raid, which a lot of women do for men, she did this to open up her world. She did it for her.

Raid is just absof**kingmazing. (That's my new word now, thanks KA) He's totally a KA alpha hot guy. But I loved that he was able to express himself (his his badass alpha way) how he felt for Hanna. I loved that he loved her for who she was, quirks and dorkyness and all. I felt so horrible for the PTSD he suffered through. I'm happy Raid was able to talk about it and Hanna had him talk to a buddy about it and exorcize those demons.

So I loved this book. I wanted it to be longer, I'm selfish like that. I want to set Kristen Ashley up in a rock chick bubble with a never ending supply of coffee, a typist, and whatever else she needs to get her brain going so she can pump these awesome books out as fast as possible.

Hanna has loved Raid since she was six years old. Raid never noticed Hanna then, nor throughout high- school. Then Raid joined the armed forces and left their small town. Hanna had a few boyfriends but nothing ever came of those relationships.
Then Raid returned home, everyone in town knew that he had been through hell.

Hanna decides that she is going to get Raid to notice her, she gets a new hairstyle, new clothes. But most important a new attitude to life. This seems to work as Raid does notice Hanna. After a rocky start to their relationship things settle between them. But can Hanna cope with what Raid does for a living.

So far in the Anti-hero series this book is my favourite. I loved Raid, he was a true KA alpha male. Hanna is a likeable character. But for me the stand out person in the book was Hanna's grandmother. There are a great supporting cast as well including appearances by Knight and Creed. The sex scenes are hot and passionate. My biggest complaint is that this book is too short. This left me feeling that this story could have been developed a bit more, here and there it felt a bit rushed.

Kristen is trying to make me go broke! I want to go and buy every single book she has written, because she's that good!

I can't get enough of these characters, and don't ask me to choose my favorite because I don't think I could pick one, I love them all!!

Raiden and Hanna's story really touched my heart because she's the small town girl who was considered mousy and had crushed on Raiden since she was 6, and he never noticed her. He leaves for war and comes back a soldier and Hanna finds every opportunity to see him. One of my favorite scenes in the book is when Hanna sees him outside the coffee shop making out with a female. How she described this female had me laughing she says,

"But she was one of those skanky skanks who looked cool. Who worked her skankedness. Who made skankdom something you'd consider aspiring to."

She decides she is done being mousy and does a make over of sorts. Then she catches Raiden's eye and things escalate from there. Some of the things Raiden did really ticked me off, but I understand why he is the way he is, and Hanna did too so she was able to forgive him for the jerk he was in that moment.

Trust me when I say if you haven't read a Kristen Ashley book you are truly missing out. I give Raid a full 5 smoke searing stars!

Kristen Ashley is a cure-all for me. After reading a book that sends me into a depression (because that book is bad), KA is like a Valium I popped and life is all better. The men that she brings to life are undeniably sexy. I don't know how she does it but she sure does it.

I loved that Hanna sits in a coffee shop, waiting for Raid to walk in every day so that he can hopefully notice her. And when reality smacks her in the face and makes her wake up, she starts living a adventurous life which helps Raid start noticing her (unbeknownst to Hanna.) When that moment happens and Raid sets his mind on her, they become so cute that you just want to punch them in the face because you can't handle the cuteness. Like always, there is some shadiness lurking around and Raid is there to find them, capture them, and make them pay. *girly giggle.*

What really surprised me was that Raid is a little different than most KA alpha male heroes. When he loses control, he loses control and I was surprised to see that loss of control turned on Hanna. However, he pulled all the strings to make up for his outburst.

Like all KA characters, Raid and Hanna complimented each other well and it was such a pleasure to read their story.

3.5 stars.... Tack on a half a star for the Epilogue... Really liked it.
It's hard to write a review for Raid. If this was my first Kristen Ashley book then it could have been a solid 4 stars. This book was pretty much the same as every other KA book that I've read. The h is gaga for a man that never noticed her until she got a make over, put on a short skirt, pushed her tits way up and got her hair did. She always has body issues like a poochy tummy. However, I really like how Raid explained to her that if men are having sex with a woman then they really don't care about a little extra fat. Give me an alpha, super possessive man any day but I really wish they could speak an entire sentence rather than one or two words at a time. And if they are so PROTECTIVE and so bad ass you would think they could keep the bad guy away from their woman. The epilogue was great and emotional for me and I really liked that Gram "dared" Hanna. I thought that was clever and cute. And the "My Reward" was pretty sweet too. So, I still love KA I just wish that not every book was the same. With the same plot points. Will I read the next book and the ones after that?
Absolutely ;)

Wow!! One word to describe Raid-- "AMAZING!! Raid was a total alpha male- sexy, dominant, rough around the edges but oh so sweet on the inside!! His life has been far from easy since his childhood with his absentee father and through the perils of war. Hanna is the town of Willow's sweetheart she is beautiful, shy and kind of dorky but in a good way! She has been crushing on Raiden Miller her whole life. Raid has been oblivious; however, that all changes and Hanna is drawn into his world. Of course, their relationship is far from easy as Hanna learns Raid suffers from what transpired during his time in the service. Together they learn about true love and just how difficult love can be. This story is truly amazing both Raid and Hanna are wonderful characters who bring all to the table during their relationship. When Raid refers to Hanna as his "reward" OMG swoon he's the total package!! Grams was also a great addition to the story- her wisdom helped the couple through their journey. I loved this story!! Kristen Ashley is brilliant her stores never fail to captivate!! ❤

So I was in desperate need of an Alpha male fix, and we all know that no one can write an alpha male like Kristen Ashley. RAID definitely hit the spot!! Raiden Miller kicks ass and doesn't worry about taking names, he is just BADASS! He knows what he wants and goes for it, and nothing is going to get in his way or stop him.

Hanna is the town sweetheart, she takes care of her elderly great grandmother and will give you the shirt off her back. She has been in love with Raiden Miller since she first laid eyes on him when she was a little girl. After high school, Raiden left town for the Marines and all these years later she still holds a flame for him. Once Raid returns home, Hanna tries to catch his attention and fails. She realizes she will never be what he wants and decides to start living her life for herself. All of a sudden Raid takes notice of Hanna and he shows up everywhere she is. Hanna is confused, what has happened that now he wants to get to know her after all these years of being invisible? What's his angle? And what is he really doing in town?

Righty ho. I have not yet found a Kristen Ashley kick butt, male character that I didn't love! Raiden Ulysses Miller is no exception.

Hanna Boudreaux lives a simple and quiet life in the small town of Willow and has been secretly crushing Raiden Miller since she was six. Raiden is the town's mysterious hero. Her crush, really crushes her heart, when she sees Raiden smooching on a bimbo, and Hanna comes to the conclusion that she needs to vamp up her simple life-to start, she needs to forget about Raiden Miller! But months later, after Hanna's change in her new and exciting life, Raid starts to take notice of her around town. And he is determined to land Hanna in bed, plus much more.

As with all KA's books, this book is filled with bad guys, action, laughs and an alpha male willing to kick butt to save his woman!

For years people have raved about this author and for some reason I kept passing this book up. It’s been on my TBR for three years and this past week it came up again online. I admitted I hadn’t read it and was gifted a copy by a generous reader.

I absolutely loved everything about it; storyline, H/h, secondary characters and the level of hotness.

This installment was pretty funny. It had good romance and decent drama. My only complaint is that the characters in this series are really all the same...they talk the same, act the same, they just end up with (slightly) different drama. But I'll still finish the series and I expect the next two books will be solid 4 stars as well.

It seems like all of KA's guys talk alike. I get that they're alphas (which I love!) but do they all have to have the same phases and cadence? Don't get me wrong, I liked Raid but he wasn't as interesting to me as some of her past alphas and I think it was due to his speaking like Knight and to a lesser extent, Creed. I don't expect prose with veiled meanings but something new would be nice.

The best character by far was Hanna's great grandma. I loved her and she totally reminded me of my great grandma who was also a no nonsense kind of gal. She was this book's most valued character.

I didn't mind the bit about the 'pouch' but did appreciate the note at the end explaining its inclusion. I didn't even blink when reading that part, just figured it
was a reminder to not judge.

Overall I'm happy I spent an evening with this book and will continue to read more of KA's books in the future.

I am a HUGE fan of KA and I own every single one of her books. Most of them really work for me, some do not. This was one of them. In preparation for this book, I went on a KA binge and reread all of the Rock Chicks, fantasyland, and Dream Men series. I loved the first three chapters that were posted on KA's site. But, in reading the book, while I really enjoyed all the usual aspects of KA's style and plot, for some reason this book just didn't have the same depth as her others. For example, while I get that the heroine has crushed on the hero all of her life and he considers her his reward, I felt as if I missed or was rushed through key hurdles in their relationship. By way of example, there are things that the hero is struggling with and while the heroine gives good advice, they all seem to resolve themselves really quickly. Normally, we get a little more description regarding the process of resolution in KA's books but this time, it was more like: here's the issue, ok here's what you need to do, okay, it's resolved. Anyway, KAs books are still an automatic buy. This book was okay, just not great FOR ME (I'm sure others will have a different take because we are all different).

Hanna fell in love with Raiden Miller when she was six. It was twenty years later when he recognised the sweet and cute that was her. Hanna ended up on Raids radar because of an investigation into the activity of Knight Sebring's arch enemy Knight's story is book one of this series.

I did not jump on this book right away because the sample gave me the wrong idea. But as soon as I realized this story was in Knights world and Raiden was a badass in it I was a goner. Raiden had some serious issues relating to family and military service. As always I loved the sex and the family and working relationships. Once I got started I loved the story and read it straight through. I will read Deacon's story and I want Nick 's as well.

I read and re-read this novel because I enjoyed so.

I absolutely love Kristen Ashley, but this wasn't my favorite.
I loved it because it's typical, amazing, Kristen Ashley.
I didn't like that I felt like I had read some of the same paragraphs before in her other novels.
But it's Kristen Ashley, there are amazing, in depth characters, and the sweet, sometimes grouchy, alpha male that I'd gladly read over and over!

Overall, I'd always recommend owning anything by Ms. Ashley

Kristen Ashley once again brings you an alpha male who is drop dead gorgeous, lives by his own rules, and knocks the socks of off some unsuspecting female he can't live without! Raiden's past has given him lots of emotional baggage and a profession that's somewhat "shady". Back in his hometown he notices Hanna, who is the town's sweetheart and has had a crush on him since she was six years old. When Hanna and Raiden get together sparks definitely fly but the real question is can she handle his lifestyle and past. I think this unlikely couple is a great combination of sweetness and dynamite, with a dash of danger thrown in. Raiden is all tough guy but it is sweet how humbled he is that Hanna loves him. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it!

I am riding a happy buzz after finishing Raid just a few minutes ago. I was going to let the story sink in to write a stellar review but I just couldn't wait. I loved this book! I didn't want it to end. It made me laugh cry, get annoyed, smile, giggle...you name it.

This book is the third in the Unfinished Hero's series by Ashley. While I have not read the second book in the series I think that Ashley did a great job of describing the connection of the books without making the reader feel left out.

Now on to the awesomeness that is Raid. First off, I just loved Hanna. I am a huge KA fan and she always does a fantastic job on the heroines in her books but Hanna was just awesome. Hanna has had a crush on Raiden (Raid) since she was six years old. She has silently nursed this crush for him for about twenty years until one day she comes to the conclusion that Raid will never love her. After some soul searching she decides to make some changes in her life (I.e. go out and socialize, take up outdoor leisure activities, ect.) and not sit around and wait of Raid to notice her. She basically moves on. That is when Raid starts to notice her.

Raid is an ex-marine that has had a hard time re-adjusting to civilian life. After pondering his options he chooses a career path that was most in line with his skill set. Ashley named this series the Unfinished Hero's because each of the heroes is not the traditional hero. They are not necessarily law abiding citizens that fit in the cookie cutter mold. More like, hot alpha men that follow their own rules and not those of society. I don't want to give any spoilers so I won't say any more about Raid's occupation except I still think he is awesome!

Aside from the awesomeness of Raid and Hanna we also get a slew of secondary characters that are fantastic. Hanna's great-grandmother was just incredible. She is funny, kind, generous, and is a little scene stealer to be sure. Also Raid's family and Hanna's friends have small roles but each one is people you would want to be around your dinner table at night.

There were times when I would want to smack Raid across the face and other I just wanted to give him a hug. The emotional rollercoaster that this book took me on was full of twists and surprises. There were several things I didn't see coming, one around the middle and I had a "I cannot believe that!!" moment as well as the one close to the end when I swear my eyebrows hit my hair line. I was very surprised. Needless to say this was all closed with an amazing KA epilogue, (she does seem to write the best ones I have ever read) that made me so happy until it broke my heart but then it put it back together again all in a few short pages. I didn't want this book to end! I know there will be another in the series and I am very excited to see what KA has in store for us next.

Wow, seriously just wow. Raid is truly one of the best Kristen Ashley books I've read by far. It has a little bit of Rock Chicks with Marcus Sloan, and then more of Knight and Creed! Also it shows you more Nick, Knight's brother, whose story I'm really looking forward too. Hanna has a wonderful shy yet no bull carp type of personality. She's known Raid since she was six, even though he doesn't remember her. He comes back from the marines a different man, definitely damage now. So it takes Hanna to help work him through this. Along the way you get to meet Hannah's great grandma who is ninety-eight years old, and hilarious. The epilogue was awesome, but sad. I loved this book, it made me laugh and cry and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the characters.

Another story so much like the rest of Kristen Asley's books. I agree with some of the other reviews that you could change Raiden's name to any of her other male characters because the way her males speak, the run on sentences, the use of, "Mine, throughout the book and all the things that make her male characters hot makes you be able to interchange the names. That being said, I fell in love with Tack in Motorcyle Man. I'm addicted to him. And that, my friends, is why I keep buying KA books. I need my fix. So, I don't mind that all of KA's men are almost carbon copies. I see a KA book, I think about Tack, I click the checkout button and put my feet up as I get high from my fix.

Raid..Raid..Raid.. Where do I even begin with this fine man? Every time I read a Kristen Ashley book, I think I have a new favorite hero. That holds true until she writes another book, and I fall in love all over again with a new pretend character. But I have a feeling Raid may truly hold this spot for a while. At least I hope he does.

There are so many things I love about this book. I love the way humor and snark are entwined in such a deep and often dark plot. I love the way she incorporates a book into a series with the perfect amount of back story. There is just enough to fill the gaps, but not overdone so as you feel like you are reading the previous book. I absolutely love the fact that her characters have flaws. Not just one or the other, but both. It brings a level of realness to the story that adds a lot of depth. And, I absolutely love the way she writes with multiple POV's. It opens the book up, and allows the reader to feel all the emotion, not just from one side or the other.

As with typical KA fashion, we are introduced to some kick ass side characters that really add a whole new layer this story. We get a little action with Knight and Creed from book one and two in the series. It's just enough to let us know what they are up. It's not a big surprise that their women are still the most important thing in their lives. I loved watching Raid evolve with Hanna to where these men are finally. He is bossy and arrogant and says a bunch of s*** he doesn't mean when he is angry... you know the typical guy stuff. But he is able to own up to it and apologizes and admits when he is wrong. Hanna comes to mean everything to him.

Raid is from a different world than what Hanna is used to. She knows he got out of the military after he lost almost his entire squad. She knows he came back to town to be with his mom and sister. She knows he has some secrets and his life seems to be a mystery. What she didn't know was the extent of his business deals. She wasn't prepared for the lifestyle of a bounty hunter and she has a hard time processing how involved and deep and dark some of it spreads. She has to decide if she can live with his "Retirement Plan."

Hanna is an amazing, strong, solid character. She knows being with Raid is not going to be easy. She knows he lives with the memory of his military days. She also knows he is what she wants and she is prepared to fight with whatever memory she has to win him. You can't help, but to let these two bury themselves in your heart. Their relationship is filled with so much love and emotion; you can feel it floating off the pages.

This is a book that will stick with you long after you read the last page. It's entertaining, heartfelt, scorching sexy, suspenseful and funny. It's a complete package. Read it!! I promise you will love it and if you aren't already addicted to the fictional masterpieces that Kristen creates, I guarantee you will be after this book.

I liked the other two books in this series but for some reason, I LOVED RAID! Raid and Hanna were just so perfect together. Their story line, them, everything.. Just perfect. Some people had some issues with the ending (and I can understand their reasoning) but seriously the lady was 100 and something years old.. It was gonna happen! Some of the reviews made me a little worried before I started this book so I read ahead a bit to see what the fuss was about and if it would make the book horrible... Let me just say that no it did not! It was perfect but it in no way ruined the book for me.

Raiden Miller is the boy Hanna has been in love with since she was 6. He never even knew she existed.

Years and lots of stuff later Hanna realizes she has had a stupid crush on someone she never had a chance with. So she made changes. Started living her life and she caught the eye of Raiden.

However there was something sinister brewing in her small town of Willow, Colorado. She gets caught up in it and Raiden swoops in to save the day.

I loved this story. I also love when a Badass as Epic as Raiden can find his "Reward" and grasp it and never let go!

Just like Creed, Raid is such an awesome guy and definitely a Hero. I loved all the interactions in this story and have also read this one several times and now have my mom hooked on Kristen Ashley books. I love how protective these Hero's are to those they love. There is nothing worse than reading a book where the Hero says thru 3/4 of the book I'm so unworthy stay away from me. None of that in Kristen's books. These are men through and through.

Hannah lives in the small town of Willow, she has been in love with Raiden forever but he's never seen her. Raid left Willow joined military to take care of his family. He is dark and brooding but he sees Hannah now, and he is working hard to get her to want him. Loved Raid he is the best. Love Hannah's Gram.

Raid is one of the hottest (and funniest) books that I have read from the fabulously brilliant Kristen Ashley! I discovered her when I first read Knight (I still have a serious crush on him!) and it was then that I knew I had found something special. Kristen writes some of the smartest and wittiest banter for her characters in the romance business and this book is an exceptional example. I thoroughly loved this book and plan on reading it again and again.

RAID just wasn't as "meaty" as KNIGHT and CREED were. It seemed to lack the depth that we all have come to expect, and I missed that. But I loved the story anyway because its another Kristen Ashley love story and no man loves a woman like KA's men do. And no matter what those women go through for their men's love, we all wish we were that woman. The Unfinished Heroes is one of my favorite series, so I hope KA continues to write another ............I'll always read it and love it.

i've read just about all of Ms. Ashley's books (Dream Man series, Rock Chick series, Unfinished Heroes series etc) except for her fantasy series. While I agree with many of the comments that I've read about her stories being 'addicting', my issue is that most of her 'heroes' are reminiscent of each other so although it's a different story, it's like the same people. Her character development formula has been recycled and reused so many times it's quite comical. It truly does take away from the essence of her storyline and in all honesty, I'm beginning to view her as a LAZY writer. Yes she found a good niche in terms of creating a story line but her plots are weak and after reading 3-4 of her books, it becomes: hmmm..why bother to waste my $ when i'm getting the same thing?

even the language is repeated...Shy says "tear each other up..." Raid says "tear each other up..." at some point in the stories, the H "shatters" the h causing her to tuck her tails between her legs and flee only for the H to make chase. None of the H's actually ever apologize for their tempers and cruelty and ALL of the h's forgive and take them back...

I don't know what's going on with Ms. Ashley's writing of late but this once a fan is saying bye bye to her.

I was actually surprised at so many 5 star reviews, but figured they were long time fans dogging it out through a not so stellar book.....kinda like my love-hate-confusion-frustration with Lora Leigh! But Im rambling...back on track.

This book was okay, I was recommended the book after reading Undeniable and Reaper's Property...I still don't see a similarity. I appreciate one reviewers note to NOT start reading this book if Kristin Ashley is a new author to you....I should have listened (since this is a new author for me) and I thought I had already wasted money on two other K.A. books I bought but haven't read.

Anyways, I liked Raid as an alpha hero, I even like the concept of Hanna falling for him so young, but for some reason it didn't work well in this book. I agree that the Grandmother was the best character by far. The perfect blend of what a real Southern Matriarch is...Grams was really good.

What i didn't like.....
by the 50% mark I was rolling my eyes at the dialouge and plot.....and did anyone else get tired of the endearments Honey and Sweetheart...both are feminine names to me and this is what HANNA was calling Raid i mean "and Hanna cried "Give me More Sweetheart" in the middle of you know what....I was laughing and eye rolling.... it really is the little things that count and little things that throw you out of the story can completely ruin a book and that was one of them for me...plus I really got tired of Hanna being so clueless and somewhat childish....bike with tassels and wicker basket anyone?
Oh and I had Fifty Shades PTSD flashbacks in the beginning when she couldn't speak to him for the first 3 or 4 meetings and we are told how 'perfect' 'amazing' and 'beautiful' Raid was Oh and they both thought each other was 'magnificent'........

I love everything Kristen Ashley writes and this was another wonderful read. It is an intriguing story, with characters I easily connected with and of course, a hot alpha male. This is story is a little shorter than KA's usual longer ones, but still good. Raid is a good looking, but damaged man until he meets Hanna, the woman of his dreams. Loved it and was only sad when the story ended.

I love KAs books. I've missed her writing and her books in general so this was a much needed book. I enjoyed the other unfinished heroes books. But I think I liked this the best out of the other two. I also enjoy when she ties her other series into these. It makes me feel like I really know what's going on and I get to run into an old friend. I only gave this four out of five bc it wasn't my favorite KA book but it was an excellent read. Can't wait for Allie and Ren and Tabitha!!!

I loved Raid and Hanna's story as I do with all of KA's books. She is my all time, above all others, my favorite author. This book was a great addition to the unfinished heroes series. The badassness in this book was hot as always with this amazing author. I am looking forward to more in this series as well as in the rock chick series and the mountain man series. My advise if you haven't read any KA books, start NOW! You won't be disappointed.

I always give 5 stars to Kristen Ashley's books...they always ROCK!!! But this one was good, but not great like her other books. To me, the love story seemed to rushed and a little unbelievable for Raid. For years, he does not notice Hanna, then because of a mission, he starts seeing her...than BAM...he is in love with her. ALSO....way too many sex scenes! Don't get me wrong...I love some lovin'...but seriously...this book was like an every other page porno. I found myself skimming over so much of it, it was depressing. I hope KA future stories have more depth to the love story so I believe it next time.

Great book. If you love Kristen Ashley, you'll love this one as well. Raid and Hanna are great characters. Raid's love for Hanna is easy to see from the very beginning. My favorite character though? Miss Mildred. The voice of reason and basically Hanna's conscience throughout the book. She had some of the best dialogue of the whole story.

This story is not as intense as the first two books in the Unfinished Hero series, but it still held my attention. A great page turner that I couldn't put down because I loved that Hanna looked at the world so simply and trusts everyone. It made things a bit harder for Raid to do his job and forge a strong relationship, but it was entertaining watching Hanna learn how to be the woman of a tough-commando type guy.

I have to say this one was my favorite book of the (Unfinished Heroes) series so far I loved them all but this one I really loved, I guess it's because I'm from a small town but Hanna made the story fro me being so sweet and in love with Raiden for so long and then him finally noticed was just the sweetest thing ever. Anyways if you haven't read this book you really should I'm guessing you'll love it like I did.

Kristen Ashley owes me countless nights of sleep! Each time I read one of her awesome books, I'm up all night, laughing and blushing along with her magnificently hot stories.

Raid is a welcome addition to the Unfinished Heroes crew. This former Marine is haunted by events that happened during his last tour. Enter Hanna, goofy, sweet, adorable Hanna. She takes the time to love and heal her wounded hero and Raid shows his appreciation the only way an alpha warrior can - by being so hot, possessive and sweet it boggles this romance readers mind.

They were a gorgeous couple and I will be adding this story to my Kristen Ashley 'must re-read' list.

Once again KA has floored me with another bad ass alpha male in Raid. The book had more of her Colorado Mountain Man series to me than Unfinished Heroes, except for the more erotic scenes (which are freaking hot!!!!).

SPOILER ALERT!! Once again, KA seamlessly ties in previous characters from both this series and a very poignant cameo from someone from another series but I won't say who.

First of all, I love KA! I own all of her books (I discovered her on iBooks top authors). I usually give her 4-5 star ratings, because her books have bulks of drama, comedy, sass, great dialogue, and cute details. I loved their first date and the drama that unfolded, the sex, the feelings that KA brings outta me... This one I give 3.5, because it felt like it should've been longer. It felt rushed. Or maybe I'm getting KA withdrawal symptoms again?

Absolutely incredible- now I know why I love Kristen's books.... Raid is a normal, well, totally hot, alpha male who has some real PTSD issues from tours in the Marines overseas. While the Marines made the man, his mom and sister gentled some of the wild and kept him even till he was ready for Hanna. Hanna is the quintessential all-American girl that every man dreams of loving and growing old with. Throw in some life lived and loved from family along with morons who need to find a new day job, you get the story fighting its way out of Kristen's head and into our hands, titled "Raid". Semper Fi.

This book was absolutely my favorite in this series! Don't get me wrong Knight and Creed were terrific too, but Raid was awesome! Hanna is smart and strong and the people that are in her life are that way too. Raid will stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves.
This was just an overall great book and if you're a fan of this series you'll love this one too!

Gotta say I am pretty much a fan of anything Kristen Ashley writes, and Raid didn't disappoint. I loved Hanna's sweetness and the fact that Raid knew what and who he wanted right from the start and so did Hanna. Raid's definitely an Alpha male but he's also sweet and kind and is definitely worthy of having his reward, which he knows is Hanna.

I love this series... This book was like the softer side of the Unfinished Heroes. Knight is pretty rough, Creed is an emotional storm and Raid is the soft side of the series!! I can not wait to see where she takes this series. Kristen Ashley is one of my favorite authors. I have never read a book of hers I didn't like. I highly recomend you read This book. Really good!!

I am an avid reader. I feel in love with Wild Man in paper back. I bought a kindle and am reading everything Ashley writes. She brings you right here into couples' relationships. She deals with all the insecurities that (real) men and women encounter through life. The only complaint I have is that the editing needs to be tighter, but it never takes away from the message. Overall, I find her to be an amazing writer and would highly recommend her books to adult readers.

Well, I started reading this thinking I was onto a good thing. It looked like the heroine, Hanna, would be someone I could stand being with for a few hours. The first bit of conflict is when the heroine sees this guy she's crushing on kissing another girl.

This other girls is stacked, blonde and kinda trashy. So what does the heroine do? She decides to make herself blonde, cute and have a complete makeover.

This gets the hero to sniff her out. I stopped when he said he likes her legs, her butt, her chest and her hair.

Not her smile, her personality, her humour, her talent, her craft, her sense of family, her loyalty, her ... oh I don't know ... anything that she might not lose in another 10 to 15 years.

He is as deep as a puddle and spends the entire time swearing. Every pages has so many F bombs, it gave the story a sleazy feel. It was overboard. DNF.

This was by far the best in the series. Raid is an awesome hero. Right up there with Tate and Tack... And Mike, and Layne, and Colt, and Slim. Need I go on? Dang I love KA's heros. Hannah was sweet and cute. Reminded me of Tessa and Tyra. I can't wait for the next book. Hoping Nick gets his own story. Redeem hisself.

First I must disclose that KA is my FAVORITE author. I vowed to read everything she writes and be thankful for it....so it should come as no surprise that I LOVE Raid. Raid and Hanna were great! Grandma Mildred great too. I loved their love story!! She got the guy! He got his reward! It's a fun world we get to escape to while reading KA's books; she did a great job once again. Also, no joke. I am pregnant and making a list of baby names. Raiden has been added to the boys side! :-)

Way to go Kristin Ashley, another great alpha male story. I loved that his love interest Hanna was a simple country girl. To many men hot ones included they don't need the glitz and glamour as proven here. Love this series, I would like to watch it continue

I felt I had a lot of similarities with Hanna and she reminded me a lot of myself. Then you've got this amazingly sexy ex marine who totally is bat s*** crazy for her. Loved the intimate scenes and how Raid is more of a clipped speaking kind of guy. I could relate to that as well, having grown up surrounded by men with similarities in that way. Ugh, such a great book! :)

I am a huge KA fan, but the whole Unfinished Heroes series just isn't as good as her other series. The series is just okay. This book is worth a read, but unlike her other books, it's not one I'd pick up to read again. It let rushed and under developed.

I do not post bad reviews, but I had to make an exception for this book. This book was terrible, over all. There were misspelled words, the dialog read like a uneducated 6 grader wrote it. The "hero" cursed and called the "heroine" curse words, also threaten physical harm. The book over all made no sense. The story line was flat and pointless. The "hero" was a war veteran, who came back and is working with and for criminals, not really a "Hero" type in my book. I liked the synopsis of the book, that's why I purchased it. The beginning was bearable, which is why I continued to read it. But once the two main charcters started to actually speak to eachother and have conversations, I was completely lost. Like I said in the title of my review...waste of time. I have no idea how this book even received 4.5 stars, it blows my mind.

This is the best of unfinished heroes series. Kinght and Creed were great, but I just could not put down until I finished in one go. Kristen is one of the best story tellers going. I love a big strong Macho Man. This book is all about that kind of man. KA writes a Good love story but it felt like something was missing, but demanded that I take it all. I love the characters, Gram especially. I would recommend to someone who loves alpha males that demand that you love them by making love to your body and not to your heart.

I just finished Raid by Kristen Ashley. I wasn't into it. It was easy to put down.

I felt like the author was just going through the motions. It really, really made me mad that Hanna had the same body issue that Anya did in Knight. The author even had a short paragraph at the end of the book explaining why she did this and I still wasn't impressed.

The hero fell flat for me. I didn't find him as well written as her other heroes. There was a lot of repetition with the compliments that all her heroes use, "sweet" "light" "goofy" and I felt like Raid was a mash up of her other heroes, no originality to him.

And Raid was a silly name. Someone said they kept getting pictures of bug spray and I was too.

I will say the sex scenes were pretty hot. And I thought the cat, Spot, was good for a laugh.

But the reader doesn't see Raid acting badass. We just see the aftermath. "I tracked this guy down and handed him over to the guy who paid me" no detail on how he did that.

The author skips around a lot too. "3 weeks later" "6 months later" etc. Overall, not her best work.

Kristen Ashley has blown my mind (in a good way) with all of her books. And Raid is no different. Kristen Ashley knows her ALPHA -MALES and with their quirks, they are all super fantastic !! Thanks Kristen Ashley for another fabulous read !!

This featured an abusive relationship with a spineless woman who has so long fixated on a childhood crush that she did not listen to herself when she found his actions discomforting.

Oh, she listened to everyone else tell her how she should take his "heat", which included insults, violence, criminal activity, nastiness toward other women etc but she never listened to herself. He bulldozed his way into her life, which went beyond being an alpha, and told her how it would be.

I love alphas but this was abuse. Ashley crossed the line here.

I really love KAs books and was so excited when this one came out... until I read it. It just seems like the same people over and over. The only difference is the alpha males ( which I love) are just kind of douchebags ( which I don't love) and Hanna is definitely too stupid to live. He tells her he is a criminal and she is freaked out and ten minutes later she totally understands and is fine with whatever he does. It just seemed to me that she was lacking something all of her other heroines have (a backbone maybe). Whatever he said was fine and any decisions he made were ok by her. It was more like she was desperate than in love, but that's just my opinion. I hated the way it skipped weeks and months at a time and we never read the conclusions to a lot of their conflicts ( he has nightmares for years and after one conversation with his buddy they are over?), they were just magically solved. I liked Raid, but thought there could have been a lot more to him and he deserved a better "reward" than someone who gives up everything she believes in just to keep a man. On that note, I still love KA and can't wait until the Chaos series and hope I love Shy and Tabby as much as I did in Motorcycle Man!

The "hero" would not use the main character's name. Just kept calling her "Babe". He also wouldn't start a sentence with "I". It made their relationship seem flat and not personal. I just couldn't get into this one.

It sounds like they are from the boonies. Things like "Way he looks at you now he's had you, way he is, man like that." " Told you yesterday, years ago, I tracked down my Dad." " Want all-access, Hanna" Know that chere. This was just a few examples. The whole book was like that. If it was written better the book would have been great.
