I really like the personality and values of Miss Helena, and the way she intuitively seems to interpret much of Lucas' behavior. Not always, which leads to a few misunderstandings. But on the whole, each of them strongly admires traits in the other.

To Save a Sinner has a wonderful lead couple. They are smart, loyal and interesting people.
Lucas Dempsey has returned in London. He has been exiled by his father to Boston for years for killing a man in a fight. When he left for Boston, Lucas was embittered. His father has now passed away and his older brother has attained the title. He returns to visit his mother and is not looking in any way for a romantic relationship.
Helena Ecclestone is a serious, thoughtful young woman, sister to a much more social climbing woman. She meets Lucas at a ball and she is intrigued by him. She then becomes even more entangled with Lucas when she overhears a conversation which sheds a new light on the fight he had years ago resulting in a man’s death and his banishment.
The two team up to ferret out clues to who could be involved in framing Lucas. Helena is intrigued by Lucas who treats her with respect and truly admires the fine workings of her mind. She has never met anyone like him but wonders how they could ever have a future as Lucas does not have a desire to marry. Helena has great faith in Lucas and she shows this in many ways. Lucas is grateful and he regains his faith in himself and in love through Helena’s loyalty and trust.

I enjoyed this story. It had some twists and surprises. Helena wasn't the usual beautiful heroin, although beautiful, she was second behind her sister. However, she had the passion and personality that made the normal woman can have a chance with a gorgeous hero.

I normally like the hero more than the heroine because the heroines are always second guessing themselves and never admit they want the man. I loved BOTH characters in this book! Helena is a breath of fresh air! She can size up a situation and handle it! I really enjoyed the fact that they knew they wanted one another and didnt fight it! No boo hoo bull crap from this girl.....kudos!

I too love the Recency period. It was entertaining and easy to read. I liked the characters and they seemed like old friends. There was a good story line. I wish it had been a bit longer and more in depth because I was so involved with the characters. It was great light reading.

This story captivates right from the first chapter. Intrigued by the instant attraction of Lucas and Helena, the author takes you deeper into their lives and the mystery that continues to draw them together. Don't miss this one!

An excellent Regency romance/mystery/murder. Good story line with great characters and a very good flow to the story. It is rather fast paced as well as quite witty! I am dying to read more by Adele Clee

Started this book right before going to bed and I gotta say I haven't been so happy about losing a couple of hours of sleep (though I'm sure I'll hate myself in the morning) in a while. I just couldn't put it down or devour the words fast enough.
To Save a Sinner was fun, it was sexy, it was hot, it was sweet and sad, it was light and both the H and h were strong characters. I have to say the author did an amazing job and I think I fell in love a bit with Lucas. Helena was an amazing female lead. She is everything a strong female lead should be and I an happy to say the author didn't diatribe a simpering gorgeous flower damsel in distress. she was natural, smart, strong-willed and capable of doing what is right even when she may be putting herself in the lions mouth.
If you're looking for that then this book is for you...and if you are looking for a good read where both characters are great this is for you. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves historical romance and strong mc's.
My one and only complaint... I felt the pace in the book is inconsistent. one moment it's fast, other times it's slow. (Then again I'm supposed to be sleeping so my brain may be impaired.)
