I loved this book!!! First I have to say, I love fake fiance plots and I love billionaire romance, so this is a win win. Sometimes it gets tiring reading these kind of books because it feels like you're reading the same thing all over again, but not this time! This book is original and different from what I've seen lately, the billionaire really has a valid reason for wanting a fake fiancé and it's not something you are expecting. I was hooked on the books from the beginning when they had the interview, I loved how easily he could read her, their chemistry during the book was awesome and in the end I wished there was more!!! I never read other books from Aria Hawthorne but I'll definitely read the other ones!

Inez and Sven...there story is fun. She has been 'employed' by him for 4 days, to assist him, as he is losing his sight. She is super snarky, more as a defensive mechanism than out of malice. Their dialogue is funny, cheeky and sexy at times.
I found the first few chapters a slight drag, so put this book down for a day. It kept 'calling' me back though, and for that I'm glad.
It's a romantic comedy, I would NOT classify it as erotica....there is quite a bit of sexual tension between the two but not a whole lot of action.
Overall, I loved their tale. I would have like a bit more about them, the ending was quite short, with no epilogue.

I enjoyed this book very much, despite the classic formula (don’t you wish they would TALK before they walk away angry?). It would have been a 5***** but the sex is a bit raw, especially when they were fantasizing!
There is character development, there is a plot and some nice romance and of course, the ultimate fantasy: a billionaire who accepts her just the way she is.
Fun read.

I found the narrative repetitive (how many times do you have to say what the Spire is), making the book too long and making me loose interest. Inez is witty and funny at the beginning of the book then that part of her personality kind of disappears. Sven and his blindness are too far fetched. The story had potential, I love that she is a single mom, still I wouldn’t recommend this book.

First I loved the first book "Devotion" which is a must buy. Second this book did not disappoint. The connection between Sved and Inez was unbelievable. The love and emotions spilled out in the book. I absolutely love Sved. His pain and loss portrayed in this book and the mixed emotions with Inez was so real. This is a must have I your library. Even though the books are separate there is pop in visits from the lovable characters in Devotion. I totally love alpha males and loved that he turned out to be one. The grown up scenes was not over done just right. Wish I could it more stars.

True absolutely Love. Inez and Sven may have found each other in a non-traditional way, but find each other they did. They also saved each other, and became, lovers, friends, and Mom and Dad all at once. Inez turned Sven's life and career into what he had always wanted and needed. Sven gave Inez not only his love but a real Dad for Luna. You will love the ups and downs mostly because the whole scenario is believable. The characters are a plus to the story.
You will enjoy this. There were a few edit problems but I was warned about this because I received an advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
I look forward to more from Ms. Hawthorne.

This is a great, sexy story. The characters are really well developed. By the end you feel like you know Inez & Sven. Inez is a struggling single mom that's been burned by her ex. Sven is a hot Dutch billionaire architect that's been burned by his brother & his ex & is losing his eyesight. He needs help navigating his business world to hide his failing eyesight so he hires Inez. Little does he realize that she's exactly what he needs to find his true self. I love how this story plays out & highly encourage you to read it to see what happens between these two strong willed people.

I really enjoyed this book. At first, I thought it was going to be the cliche book where rich man hires a woman to pose as his girlfriend for some reason, and then they fall in love that I have read before, and this is the basic storyline for this book, but there is also so much more. Aria Hawthorne has taken that basic storyline, and produced a well written, beautiful, exciting, hot romance. Sven is the hot, sexy billionaire architect that is loosing his sight, and Inez is a young, single mother that has been hardened by life that he hires to pose as his girlfriend for 4 days to help him. Beyond that though is a wonderful, hard to put down story with lots of twists. My two favorite characters though are Inez's grandmother and Sven's mother. They are a fun add to the book. I also loved the ending. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review, and now I am looking forward to reading more.

I really enjoyed this book. This was an amazing story, Sven may have been rich, but his injury almost crippled him and almost ruined his career he has worked so hard for. Then enters Inez, stubborn, cocky, and in need of money but does not tell Sven why. Two days in, it is working, but the two main characters start to develop feelings that neither one of them planned on❤️! Love this story. It contained so much emotion, with real feelings, sadness, hurt, lies, heartbreak. But you have to read it yourself to find out what happens when they grow closer. Great story! A definite must

Inez was a single mom looking out for herself, baby, and grandmother. She didn't have time to be young and carefree. One job offer lands her in the best position she could ask for, flexible hours, great pay! A single mothers dream! She just didn't know this 4 day job would lead her to an egotistical billionaire.

Sven van der meer was a very popular, rich architect who was blinded in a boating accident. So he sought the help of a pretty young woman to pose as his fiancé. He didn't know that he would end up with his new employee that was also a secret single mother!

This was a great read!

I loved that the author actually portrayed motherhood in a realistic way.

Couldn't this woman say "yes" just once rather than "yeah"? The level of her education did not match her vocabulary. Also, what woman who is lactating would need to pump 8 times a day; even if they are just pumping and dumping. I feel bad criticizing a writer because I could never write a book but honestly none of this makes sense. Sounds like a hooker and her pimp. Can't finish. Glad it was free.

Aria Hawthorne has the ability, through her writing, to draw the reader into the story. Her development of her characters is great and her writing makes you feel like you are living the emotions along with the characters. Sven is a rich billionaire who has a secret, he is going blind. Sven is looking to hire someone to "play his girlfriend" for 4 days to get him through some, small yet important, engagements, an achievement award ceremony, where he is the guest of honor, as well as the biggest event of his life, the grand opening of The Spire, the greatest architectural achievement of his career. Into the interview walks sassy Inez, who has secrets of her own, she is a single mom. When Sven decides to hire Inez, the fun begins immediately. The chemistry is there but Inez keeps her eye on the prize, the money that will make her financial burden a little easier for the short term. Enjoy the rollercoaster ride of this relationship. Enjoy the back and forth verbal volleys, the ups and downs of emotions....... Laugh and cry with the characters.

I really enjoyed reading Closer by Aria Hawthorne. I am a fan of Cinderella stories and this is a good one. The book had a good story line and decent character development. The story kept me interested and wanting more. While the characters aren't your typically Ken and Barbie they are equally as enticing. Closer is a completely stand-alone book with a connection (names places) between previous books (Priceless and Devotion).

Extremely well-written prose accompanies flawless characterization and wonderful plot development. A very good book and satisfying romance. Will look for the author's other books. My favorite scene was Inez at the cocktail party. She shone like the emeralds around her neck. Top notch.

I really, really loved this book. You will feel deeply for Sven and Inez when you hear what led them to their current situations in life. They’re both such well written and complex characters that you become emotionally attached at once, constantly rooting for them. The dialogue between the two is fantastic. I loved Inez’ take-no-prisoners attitude and the way that Sven responds to her. Sven has some deep-seated issues, both physically and emotionally and although he pays Inez a lot of money to be his fake girlfriend, she helps him in ways that he didn’t expect. Despite all their problems and agendas it’s clear they are a perfect fit.

I highly recommend this book. It’s the very definition of a “page turner”…I read it all in one sitting.

This is not the usual billionaire meets and hires poor woman to pretend to be his girlfriend. This is about a woman who can't trust and a man losing his sight and needing to trust a stranger. Lots of emotional baggage for both characters to deal with but her sarcasm and his persistence seems to be the magic. Add a precious baby, blind and hysterically funny grandmother, a couple of ex lovers, and an ugly building to the mix and the results are wonderful.

Hawthorne wrote the BEST heroine. THE BEST. I fell off my chair laughing during the interview scene; Inez was no pushover and was a perfect match for Sven, his "Royal Alphaness". That girl was the right amount of cray cray mixed with wit and smarts. I loved this book but the ending could have been better which brought my rating down to 4 stars; otherwise, a brilliant read.

This is Closer, book one of the Chicago Billionaires series, written by Aria Hawthorne. This is my first AH book and I am now going to find the second book in this series so I can read it. I enjoyed it and wish it had gone much farther into their lives.

Ahhh... So-So
I thought I would just love this book based on all the gushing reviews. Instead, I just was very underwhelmed.
You have a college degreed single mom who has never had a job that paid over minimum wage- huh??? And she was a poor single woman was so horrible she got fired from every job- again-huh??
Sven was kinda a jerk most of the whole book.
Just not left with a super warm and fuzzy after this one.

Okay i definitely enjoyed this book because of the two main characters and storyline. What I found was funny, romantic and surprising. But there's one moment that I just am like, really? They have sex and he regains his vision. Lol.

While I thoroughly believe this story could have been told just as well in about 1/2 the time it's not a half bad story. I do wish there was a more satisfying conclusion to the medical issue of the hero and I also wish the ending had been a little more detailed about their futures but I may get around to reading this book again someday. Maybe.

I received a copy of this book for honest review. I couldn't set it down. I very much enjoyed the story. You don't often find a male roll needy, I guess that's a good word. I don't want to give anything away. But, if you're looking to read a good story this is one of them!! Hope there are more to come!!

I really enjoyed this book. I have read others by this author and was not disappointed at all with this one. Loved the characters and the emotional connection between them. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
