My husband read this first. There is an analogy in here of sin and forgiveness being like a valve. When my spouse sins against me, will I return the sin with bitterness, lack of forgiveness, analogy, etc., or am I willing to absorb the sin as Jesus did for me on the cross?

Great book by Dave Harvey. If you are looking for a gospel-centered approach to marriage, this is it. Dave does a great job at laying down solid theology and yet being practical too. He does a great job of illustrations and examples to clarify his points. I would highly recommend this book to all!

Dave Harvey powerfully shows us that the gospel is not not for unbelievers but also for believers. In the context of the book, he show us how to apply the truths of the gospel to our marriages. Anyone who understands how to do this and does indeed apply it will be witness to the power of the gospel in transforming lives -- even those of believers.

I have been using this in marriage counseling and it is extremely helpful to couples in crisis, not the mention those of us who just want to take our understanding of marriage to the next level.

My husband and I studied this book along with four other couples and all agreed we wished we had had it years ago. The Biblical principles for marriage in this book are so practical. They definitely corrected our thinking in many ways, and through that God has been able to drastically improve our marriage, our relationship with each other, and our relationship with Him.

I would recommend this book for engaged couples and married couples. It describes the Gospel and our need for it our marriages. I've read many marriage books, attended conferences and counseling but this is clearly written and Gospel centered. Thank you.

Harvey's book, dealing with marriage from a biblical perspective, is applicable to anyone who is in a relationship, romantic or platonic, with another human being. Dealing with the central issue that marriage is a relationship between two sinful beings, Harvey explains why marriage is so difficult, and why problems come up. And although his principles are designed to be applied in marriage, they can be easily applied to any friendship. For anyone who struggles with relationships, this book will alter your viewpoint.

This is a great book. Everyone should read it. Great explanation of the depravity of man and the battle between the flesh and the spirit. I've been married 30 years and I am thoroughly enjoying and convicted by this book.

This book puts things in perspective. While you want to get cought up in the glamor of the moment, this book is refreshing and helpful to remember that marriage is still 2 sinners coming together trying to start a life together. Good read.

it was discouraging to me that my spouse wouldnt participate. but i am learning that i must let God change me in our marriage. just as my husband cant be a christian for me, he cant change my reactions in marriage. this book is excellent, even doing it solo
