Beautifully written story, with twists and turns and emotional roller coasters, only Pam would create.
I devoured the book and I’m so anxious for the others now. Unforgettable characters, so well defined. Great book!

It was a great story! It was definitely holding my attention..emotions up and down..a stand alone ,which is what i watch for..hate when we are left hanging and have to buy the next book to see whats going on..but that's not the case here..

Wow! This dark romance kept me riveted to it until I finished. Unique characters with a story that contains lots of twists and turns. Yes, it contains triggers, so be forewarned. Anxious for the next book.

This story was not what I expected; it turned out to be much more than I bargained for. It’s definitely a love story, but takes the reader through a gamut of emotions on the way to redemption and forever love. Not every reader will agree with everything that happens, but you will remember it for a long time. Fantastic!

Pam Godwin again did not disappoint. This book centers around four young adults living on their parents huge cattle farm in Oklahoma. This is a dark book, but with Pam Godwin, I would expect no less. The story line is superb and it kept me up reading almost the whole night. This book comes highly recommended and anyone who likes dark romance will fall in love with it from page one.

Painful... heartrending... for some there may even be triggers... but through the worst pain and darkness born from our worst fears there is a love so profound, so achingly beautiful that it touches your very soul. I need a moment to breath and recover then.... Buckled, Jerret and Maybe's story.
Pam Godwin's books are simply epic

This story grabbed me from the beginning. There was so much emotion between these four teenagers. The bond they had was so strong. The love story between Jake and Conor was beautifully written. They grew so much closer as they dealt with the emotion trauma of her being raped. I loved the twist and turns and how they matured and grew as young adults.

This was the sexiest western I have ever read. Pam’s descriptions of the characters, all the way down to the scent of their bodies was hot. The plot twists were great and the writing was emotional. I couldn’t put it down.

This book held my attention from the beginning. The story pulls you in and makes you feel what the characters feel without it being creepy. The best is two-fold; the love between Jake and Conor and then the relationship between the brothers and Conor. It is palpable. I can’t wait to read the other two books.,

I enjoyed reading this book. I suggest you read in order as others have mentioned. I loved how Jake loves Conor! This book had some romance, suspense, and humor. I have read all 3 books but this one was my favorite.

Another exquisite book by Pam Godwin. Jake and Conor's story hurts and it's pretty dark. It starts with two young teenagers who are so in love, soul mates is what I'd call them, it's light and fun and really cute. Honestly the beginning of this book is the perfect start to a good romance, and then it takes an insidious turn and nothing is the same and everyone is changed.

After what Jake, Conor, Jarret and Lorne go through it's no wonder the story takes a much darker turn. There is now a mystery to be solved and a relationship that needs some serious work. Jake and Conor love each other so much but they lose it somewhere along the way and have to find their way back to each other, and the method that Jake uses is not the most conventional, but then again nothing about this story is conventional.

This book is pushes the limits of what is right and ok and what is not. I'm not really sure how to explain it because it's not the darkest book I've ever read, but there is something about the main characters that makes you question right and wrong. Jake, Conor and co are the good guys but they are not your traditional, morally upright, follow-all-the-rules good guys, they do questionable things, things that we don't typically see the heroes that we love doing. Their childhood is ripped out from under them and they grow into adults willing to do what it takes to protect their own and get revenge. And I loved it, I love to see characters that aren't perfect and that don't do what you'd expect them to do. Characters that push the envelope and make you question your own morals and suspend them.

Another amazing book by Pam Godwin, I can't wait to read Jarret and Lorne's books!

3.75 "dark and kinky in Oklahoma" stars

This starts out sweet and YA and then bam, it's intense and dark, and I'm thinking to myself "I forgot how dark Pam's books can be...and I love it!"

This book revolves around a tragic event that happens on Conor's (the heroine) 16th birthday and how that event not only changes all the characters involved but sets certain other events into motion. I felt so sorry for Conor throughout the book because her life is practically destroyed and she's left alone to deal with the aftermath of what's been done to her and she has no support system. She's a very strong character. I understand Jake's actions but I didn't like Jake/connect with him as much as Conor.

Pam's writing is always so good, her word choice, dialogue, I just always enjoy reading her books. I had a little issue with pacing of the story, it seemed like we would jump months and years and I get why in order to move the story to a certain place but it didn't flow for me as well as I would like. The other issue I had was with the mild BDSM storyline and Jake's management of Conor's trauma with his brand of therapy. I just didn't buy it, but this is fiction so, lol.

I look forward to reading the next installment with these wild cowboys!

'Knotted' is the first standalone in Pam Godwin's new Trails of Sin Series, and I was absolutely blown away with her writing!

I loved Jake and Conor's characters. They each had incredible strength, and my heart really broke for them and what they had endured as childhood sweethearts and throughout the years. Jake and Conor had a sizzling chemistry between them, but they shared a tenderness, passion, and loyalty that would never break between them as well. Their story was very emotional and a bit darker, dealing with heartbreaking issues of rape, but at the same time was also heartfelt with Jake and Conor's journey of recovery and finding their second-chance. This is my first read by Godwin, and she did an amazing job with this storyline, and the added suspenseful twists made for a completely consuming read!

If you're looking for a book to keep your heart racing, this is definitely one for you!

4.5 Stars for Me!

WOW!!! Pam Godwin... three days later and I'm still floating. I normally seek Happy Romance, I stay away from the dark.. but when it comes to Pam, I'm one to be the first on line. I was left shattered by the end of chapter one. By the end of chapter two I was screaming and full out snot crying, I literally felt pain... I was broken.

Pam takes you to the left then to the right in seconds.. I went through the wheel of emotions, I started off with fear then anger and disgust. I spent most of the time reading feeling ENRAGED! You will feel connected to the characters. Every time I felt my heart coming back to life from sadness, shock from surprises that you never would have thought of will knock you off balance. I definitely EARNED my HAPPINESS.

This is one of my most anticipated series of 2018. I can't wait for Bucked, Book Two of the Trains of Sins series.

Pam has stepped onto the cowboy scene with her usual hard-hitting writing, flair for words & she nailed it! I need my own Jake!! Holy smokes, he’s got me all sorts of knotted up! Conor is a tough as nails survivor who isn’t afraid to go it on her own & carve her own path with or without the support of others.

Jake & Conor are high school sweethearts who have a terrible, violent act forced upon them, along with Jake’s brother Jarrett & Conor’s brother Lorne. They have a long road to recovery and secrets to discover as well as recover from. Jake’s brand of therapy & help leads to hot, intimate sessions & encounters, even if you want to kick him.

I’m excited for this summer trilogy!! Each book features a different couple, and of course the other main Julep ranch cowboys, Jarrett & Lorne, get their own book.

Terrible. the store wouldn't let me post my first review because I guess I was a little too biased and although I blocked out words about the hero, they still wanted it PG. God knows why, the book itself isn't PG. So here is a more polliticly correct terms. And FYI because they wouldnt post my first review and I was actually being nice giving it two stars, I've decided not to be nice this time with the stars since I have to moderate what I say. I gave it 1 star and I would give it zero stars if I could. The hero is a big fat jerk and the heroine is an idiot. Plot goes completely downhill after first few chapters and skips several years without you learning anything of real substance. Love scenes are abundant but all focus on heroines previous assault which puts a big damper on them. I read the book because I payed for it, and I do not give reviews on books I haven't read.

My stomach solidifies with ice-cold dread. I twist my neck and come face to face with a scene so sickening I struggle to come to terms with it.

The heroine in this story has such a tragic start. I mean horrible, from the incident that happens follows by the way her father treats her.
He slaps me hard enough to ring my ears. “Go to your room!”

I burn beneath waves of abject pain, my tongue wrapped in slimy, poisonous truths. “You got my email and knew I was coming today. You wanted me to find you with her.” << This part is absurd. What happen with the heroine, and the hero sleeps around. I can not finish reading this. That is not love. I am to angry to finish this book.
I didn't not make it far in to the book. Do not let my opinion ruin it for you. I just can not read this. Not after the heroine went through something so tragic, and the hero sleeps around with other females.
I’m not that girl.

Nor am I the girl he wants.

I want to be her.

Sara Gilly.

I want to wear her skin and feel his touch.

The hero watched the tragic incident that took place, How could he do this to her? I can not read it to find out.

This review is hard to write. I’m conflicted, so here it goes.
The basis of this story revolves around a fateful, tragic, brutal, devastating night. The characters, twins(Jake and Jarret) and brother and sister(Lorne and Conor) , were just 16, 17, and 18 years old. Conor and Jake were childhood sweethearts. Always knowing that they were the one for each other. Even though they were young, the connection was intense and forever knowing. They grew up together and were all inseparable. Then the tragic night occurs.....it’s gut wrenching and nauseating. Conor, the only girl in the group of 4, is violently assaulted. Their lives would never be the same. But once the night ends, the four make a blood oath that will bind them forever. And this story, spans 5 years.

First and foremost, I don’t believe that someone that young can just go on with her life after being so traumatized. I felt that the author swept the aftermath under the rug so that the story could continue. And the story continues with the separation of the kids and Conor leaving Oklahoma. Of course there is a lot happening that leads to the separation........and then there is a lot of pain and mystery after.

Second, I did enjoy the premise of the story. The love between Conor and Jake, the mystery surrounding their separation, and their subsequent reuniting is full of love, trust and healing.

Finally, while I know this is a work of fiction, parts worked for me and parts didn’t. Knotted has many wonderful reviews and I just seem to fall in between. The author writes extremely well and I look forward to continuing with the series.
