This was a cute, though unrealistic and predictable. The characters were fun, but the setting was sort of bland. As someone who lived in Sacramento for a decade, I hoped for more recognizable places and I was disappointed.

A good, clean romance. Kaitlin agrees to go on five date in exchange for her friends painting her house. The relationship she has between her friends and the "new" Paul were fun to read. This was well written, held my attention and read in an evening.

I'm a sucker for the short & sweet stories... luckily it wasn't so short that there wasn't any character development. The characters were a bit predictable though. Had some nice laugh out loud parts which I always enjoy. A nice vacation or beach read, but I'd include others since you will be blowing through this story fairly quickly.

Absolutely, love this book. Not only was it cute but it had meat on the bones too. It had everything women fear being cheated on. This one was even worse Kaitlin Murray got cheated on by and with her step-sister. To her sister Melanie’s defense she had no idea that he was also dating her sister at the time. Her only mistake is when she found out it was at her sister's bachelorette party. At least it was before the wedding that she was able to worn her sister.
The funny thing was Paul kept calling asking for forgiveness for a few weeks. Going as far as saying, he admitted to the cheating but that it had been early on in their relationship. That if he would have known Mel was her sister he wouldn’t have dated her. As if that made it any better or win her back or her trust back. She overestimated his I.Q.
She didn’t let it get her down or show on the outside. Behind her closed doors she cried for two months straight. Now she was past that and had bought herself a nice ranch style home on the Sacramento River. It’s an ‘80’s throwback so it needs TLC. Her friends Kristen and Ginger are over working in her kitchen stripping wall paper when they come up with this crazy idea that Kaitlin just hates. While they are there they decide it’s time to push her dating buttons back to “on.” Of which Kaitlin’s not ready so it’s pissing her off.
They put it in the form of a challenge. They know she couldn’t refuse. Five days, five dates, and the both of them would help paint her whole house. All 2000 sq. ft. of it. She is obsessed with decorating it. It keeps her mind off of what has transpired over the last several months. It’s a good way to save her heart from being hurt again so this painting thing is a big deal. In her mind go on five one hour mindless dates. You know the mindless ones, zero interest with the other person, Monday through Friday, and the girls could be here Saturday to paint. Since this whole discussion started because her realtor asked her out she would call him as date number one. Date number two could be this guy Brian her mom wanted her to date. Then, date number three her friend from work wanted to fix her up with a friend of her husband’s. She knew she could do this so she agreed.
Then something she didn’t expect while waiting for her late first date, Chase, she chatted up “New Paul” the bartender. His eyes were a killer blue you could just dive into. When he spoke forget about it. His touch had caused tingles and electricity to zig-zag through her. She could talk so easily to him. It was as if she was the only person there. He really listened as if he cared.
For all of her dates they met at the hotel Geoffries. She gave all these excuses why but deep down she knew she just had to see him. He was all she could think of “New Paul.” She knew her mother would never approve. She didn’t care she really enjoyed his company. So, when she asked him to be date #4 he turned her down. She didn’t let him see but it hurt her a lot.
Can these two birds from different backgrounds make it more that just friendship or is it just what it is a friendship? You will have to read and find out. A lot of very funny moments. I give this: 5 stars. Provided by Net Galley.

This story was super cute, clean, and fun! The story wasn't overly complicated, and the heroine's friends really got on my nervesfrom the get-go, but the chemistry between Kaitlin and Paul?? Yummmmmm! He was kinda waaaay too good to be true, but WOW! I'd take him!!! :)

This was such an entertaining read that I couldn't put it down until the last page. For those who may have had some less than ideal dating experiences, this will give you hope for a better future! Of course, there are some frustrating moments between the bad and good, but certainly never a dull moment, which is why the reader should plan on putting aside the whole evening for a fun night with this great book!

I really liked this story. It was fun and flirty. I read in less than a day. I had an idea how it would end, but there were a few surprises. It made you want to keep turning the pages. It was also made you laugh. This was my first by Susan Halter.I would definitely read more of her books.

I loved this book because it was pure romance and not hot and heavy erotica, there are so many books out there that claim to be 'romance' but they are all SEX, SEX and more SEX with no plot, well this was just perfect. Some light kissing and A Lot of humor, and a cute plot

Susan wrote a cute story . . . very entertaining and enjoyable. It was a nice read and I enjoyed it so much I recommended it to two friends who also enjoy the same type books that I like.
I look forward to more books by Susan Hatler.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this story. It was really a lot of fun and had a very romantic ending. I personally appreciated that the language was clean and there were no overly steamy scenes. Thumbs up from me!

This was a pretty fun read and the characters were likeable. It was really predictable and gave way too many clues in advance, so there was not much to wonder about while reading, though there was little to offend. Good beach reading.

this book was amazing!! I could not put my kindle down. the author did a good job with not making it the usual sappy love stories they have out there.... she made it interesting! this was the first book I read by the author and I totally recommend it to readers who don't want that average love story but the type of love story that's over the top and page turning with a sexy twist to it.I will certainly look into reading more from this author!!

I could not finish this book. The heroine was not likeable. I tried to buy the premise that she, in an attempt to get over the betrayal of a cheating ex, would extort her best girlfriends into doing free work on her home remodeling projects in exchange for dating a bunch of strange men. It was a plot device that got old real fast, as the heroine tried to justify leading these men on while also leading on her friends in regards to the hero.
