These concise booklets help families understand what their loved one is going through as their bodies begin to shut down. They are so helpful while considering various religious backgrounds of those involved.

Good general info; as the material says, every experience has unique aspects and may follow a deferent sequence. Still made me more confident that I can interact with hospice workers and caregivers better.

These are excellent booklets to read and reread if you are concerned about being informed as to what you might be facing in the future. It is fairly heavy reading and thus some may find it too realistic? I believe a great read for those of us that are getting on in years in particular.
After She's Gone (West Coast Series Book 3) :: A Novel (Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro Series) :: Gone Too Far (Troubleshooters Book 6) :: The Gone Trilogy :: Rockstar Romance (Sixth Street Bands Series Book 1)

The author must have been dealt with those with terminal patients for a long time. The detail this woman gives is extremely informative. My stepfather is dying of lung cancer and a Hospice nurse gave my Mom "Not Far From My Sight". She was stunned. Sad at first and eerie but when it comes down to it, having this information has been vital to her. I am buying the whole set of books because the author has just confirmed what God has been telling me about helping the elderly. Each person is different and God will take someone in His time, not ours. These books will REALLY help you understand what your loved one is going through. All I can say is WOW! The only thing I wish it mentioned was God. I am very thankful to have these books!!!! God bless you Barbara Karnes.I will be praying for you.

An informative explanation of the death process that can guide the living through what we have been taught to fear. It's nothing like what you see on TV. It provides understanding and guidance in the process of healing. What a wonderful gift

Information you NEED TO KNOW when someone is dying. Not sure how I got to be this old and wasn't aware that dying is a process, just like birth. Ms. Karnes explained a lot of what we we're going through with Mom in plain terms, even I could understand.

I read these books while my elderly father was dying - a long and very painful process for everyone involved. They provided a good understanding of what stages he was going through, which was particularly helpful when dad started to withdraw from those around him, and lose interest in food. This really helped me support my mum to understand this was part of the process, and not her doing something wrong.

It also introduced us to the "On Dying" poem which gave us a totally different framework to view dad's declining health... to the point that we put it on his funeral mass booklet.

I went back to this book so many times during the months of dad's decline, and it helped an awful situation be at least understandable.

These small concise booklets were exactly as advertised. They provided us with exactly the information that was promised and that we needed when recently facing this situation. Have recommended them to a pastor friend who plans to provide them to families in her church facing similar decisions.

I have found so much relief from Barbara Karnes series of books about death. Before and after. I especially like the way it's written. It's as if she is present and actually speaking to you. I was also touched by the compassion and emotion I felt from her words. Thank you for following your calling!

I recently lost my father to pancreatic cancer. I had no idea how to handle my fears. This series of hospice books was very very helpful! It made the transition easier for me and some family members. I highly recommend these books.

Loved this series...love Barabra Karnes. Wonderful explanation of our exit from this terrible world the natural way, as God intended it. I recently experienced the loss of my mother and watching Barbara's video and reading her books really helped prepare me and my family for her death. Highly recommend these books for anyone with a terminal illness or elderly family members.
