This book is extremely well written. The chapters fly by, and you are given numerous examples of situations to illustrate the author’s point. I wish I had read this book when my oldest daughter was a teenager. It is definitely helping me understand my youngest daughter now.

A great book for parents with daughters who want to understand the stages they go though in a clear, well thought out way. The author gives real life examples that help illustrate each stage and helped me feel like I was not going through this alone.

Excellent book! Wish I had bought the hard copy vs the kindle. This is a book that you will want to reference back to time and again which is extremely difficult in my kindle version. Unfortunately I started it after the 7 day return policy and realized very quickly my mistake. Hard to plunk out another $19 right now, so will wait to see if some pop up as used.

As the parent of two teenage girls, this book highlights the importance of communication over criticism. I highly recommend this if for no other reason than to understand where your teen is coming from.

I grew up in a different culture and without much technology on hands except for TV and computer for learning purposes only. This book I feel has shown me a path to raise my daughter and help her in the teen years especially growing up here in USA. It's well laid out with so many stories, real problems and suggestions. I will recommend this book to moms of pre teens and teens.

Excellent book!! I highlighted many things in this book that I will want to return to as my daughters go through their teen years. The author does a great job at giving non-judgemental advise and practical solutions to many teen issues. I highly recommend this book to anyone with teen girls.

For anyone who struggles with the highs and lows of your daughter, this book nails it on the whys, how to respond and react and when you should worry about her behavior. I would recommend this book to all middle school parents - both mom and dad. It made me understand better what our daughter is going through.

Wonderfully written, insightful, real life advice for those of us raising teen age daughters! Wish I had had it a few years earlier when mine was more like 12. But it is so good I shared it my therapist, who has a large practice and was not aware of it. I read a few particularly helpful lines to her and she was grateful and said she would obtain a copy asap!

Great book- easy read, immediately useful! Lifesaver just to start to help my daughter - and the whole family get through these years. Love the examples of what to say, how to say it. Made so much sense.

A wonderful read for parents of preteen and teenagers. I have two daughters so all of the information in this book fits like a glove, would love to share it with friends that have sons though, so maybe there should be a boys version in the future.

If you have daughters, you need this book. If you know someone with daughters, gift them this book. As the Mom of 2 daughters and 2 stepdaughters, I know from experience the examples in this book are realistic and I read many of these chapters shaking my head in agreement. I also had several light bulb moments reading through this book. For example, the hot potato example and the swimming pool example. Very, very helpful and I highly recommend taking a weekend to read this book. I am a better Mom for having read this book.

Excellent. Haven't finished it yet, but it is very well written and not at all condescending. As a "new" mom of a pre-teen this book has already helped me. Highly recommend to any parents of girls.

Excellent handbook - Particularly like the swimming pool metaphor, but very helpful in understanding the developmental strands and in giving you sensible approaches for playing chess in the seven-dimensional space we lovingly call our daughter.
