Although there are a few minor differences from the original novel this graphic novel provides an excellent and satisfying adaptation. If you didn't get enough of the world and story after reading the trilogy this is a beautifully illustrated version that will leave you hoping for a release of Shift: The Graphic Novel and Dust: The Graphic Novel.

If you haven't read the novel, this graphic novel will be very hard to follow. And the illustrations were just ok, and not nearly the quality that I had expected. I may update my review after subsequent deliveries, but for now, I'm a bit disappointed.

Pretty anticlimactic. I have been waiting for this since September. I love the silo books, love them. This graphic novel has fallen far short of the original work. The art reminds me of the ridiculous moving comic things marvel and dc seem to be fond of, just not as well drawn. Give me a new artist and crisper drawings and then I might appreciate it more. Since this is the first issue I will wait to see if it gets any better. As it stands I have buyer's remorse...

Raised my rating one star, but still a little apprehensive. It is beginning to look up! Episode three the artwork is getting better. The detail its good and the page set up isn't so mashed together. The cells flow nice and the dialogue flows better allowing the reader to understand the story as it was in the novel. Here's to hope that things will continue this way.

I've been waiting for this graphic novel. I loved the Wool series, it grabbed you and kept you until you were finished. This graphic novel is meh at best. It's basically a quick summary of the book, with okay pictures. if you haven't read the series you will be lost. The graphics aren't even close to the visuals described in the book. Here's to hoping the rest of the series gets better.

I was really hoping for something better here. The story is intact, but the art just doesn't work for me.
Too much copy/paste between cels. Just feels like they are trying to fill space.
Maybe it is just a matter of their impression not matching mine, but the environment of the silos feels wrong to me. E.g., these are underground buildings made with near future technology. Soaring ceilings in the farming level, for example, do not make sense.
I recall the stairs being carefully described in the books and the ones drawn don't really make sense.
I also don't feel like the characters are drawn in a compelling way. The mayor looks like she is in her twenties in a couple of scenes.

I read this whole also reading Howey's Wool omnibus. Was near to see read the story and then go back and see if play out through the comic.
The comic story line is similar to Wool, but there are some differences. The comic explains a couple details with more clarity, but then will also change the sequence of events or even how an event happens.
The ending is different. I think I preferred how the novel played out better, but I do like the differences the graphic novel has and the change in the the 5th part.

I loved the Wool series. I thought that the original Wool presented such an intriguing new type of world. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed considering the silo, like a skyscraper built into the ground. I was excited at the prospect of seeing the silo saga reimagined with pictures. I was not disappointed.
I really love the artistry so far. The illustrators have done a great job capturing the subtleties of given characters and breathing life to the unique backdrop of the silo. Looking forward to more!

An incredible sci-fi novel dissected, distorted, and reconfigured into a poor representation that is the graphic novel version. Roughly 80% of the book is omitted leaving a rushed, detailed lacking gutting of the original. The pace never falters, always moving at an uncomfortable steady rhythm, removing any sense of build up and suspense. The characters from the book are left feeling flat and forgettable. The most interesting details are glossed over or completely forgotten. And to add further frustration, the ending is unnecessarily changed. Very disappointing.

I must have missed and misunderstood the promotion for this awful sequel to the prior novels from this author. Never, never, never did I think I would get a comic. To think that I waited and waited through all the delays for nearly a year .. only to receive this rubbish. I wish had cancelled my order when the store first offered the option after the first delay.
