The title of this book is "Conversations With God", not "Conversations With Some Words Some Guys Wrote Down a Few Thousand Years Ago That Passes Itself Off as the Word Of God" or "Conversations with Man-Made Religions" We may believe the Bible is the inspired word of God but we don't know that it is. We may believe we know the will of God but we don't. All this book does is to give teenagers pause to think about what is good for them and what is bad. The same way that I believe a real diety would react, not with the writings in a book as vague as the Bible. A real diety does not need to be worshiped the way the Bible portrays but One to be served in the interests of mankind.

This is an outright attempt to "create your own god" for "whatever makes you feel good." The author is completely out in left field and is attempting to drag others there with him. This is a road that isn't even worth consideration.

All you have to look at is how many fundamentalists have giveN this book a negative review. This will make you want to pick up the book. If you believe in a loving God and want answers to the hard questions this is for you. Yes Mr Walsch says you are OK, Especially if you are a gay teen. PLease read all the negative reviews and then see what all the fuss is about, but this book.

My son picked out "Conversations With God For Teens" because he was intrigued by the title. I'm not a holy roller bible thumper but I must say this book is full of it. Do not buy this book! It is written by a guy that thinks he talks to God. I'm sorry but this book completely contradicts the bible. According to this book there is no right and wrong. Bad things are only bad because that is how your perceive them. If you kids read this book and listen to what this guy is saying you will be very unhappy parents with very disrespectful kids! My son can read this book if he would like. I'm sure that he is smart enough to realize that it is complete BS.

This book and the author's viewpoints are what are wrong with world today. I hope that all of you will take this to heart before purchasing this book!

I paid $1.00 for this book and it wasn't worth it!

I had read this great book several months ago when it first came out. While I loved the book I didn't really feel it neccessary to write a review....until I happened to read several other reviews for this book. I am of course referring to the horrible bashing it receives from the logicless, brainwashed, ultra-conservative right-wing Bible Bangers. Being a Bible Banger is a little like being a heroine addict; your detached from reality, can't hear anything anyone else is saying, and are absolutely in denial that you are an addict. In either case, I am "flat out disgusted." If you fit into this category then check out An Encounter with a Prophet. First off, there is absolutely no reason to post two reviews for the same book that say the exact same thing. No one's opinion of any book is worth being said twice. Generally people get the idea. Also, a review is simply to state your opinion of a book and the reasons you either like/or don't like the book. I do NOT need anyone to suggest the exact passages of the Bible for me to read.
Conversations with God is a fantastic book of truth for teens and adults alike. It talks frankly about all topics of life: love, death, society, and sex. I have interpreted the book to be very comforting, calming, and reassuring about the world we live in. It is from my experience that most teens are extremely turned off by ideas like judgement, fire and brimstone, hell, Satan, and discipline. This book presents visions of a God that is loving, caring, calming, concerned, and intimately connected with every human being. If that bothers you greatly than so be it.

This is a horrible book to give to ANYONE, especially someone still forming his/her values. I would not want to be the author who has answer for this content someday, or someone who has given this book to a teen.

Conversations with God? No, more like converstations with Mr. Walsch who thinks he is God, but doesn't know any thing about the Biblical God. If you want a book for your teens on life matters, open up the bible and sit down with 'em, read it together. The book of Proverbs is a great place to start and there is one for every day of the month.

A "true Christian" says:

"do not presume that you can convey the voice of God to me. Do not type on a page His words, unless you have a Bible verse to back it up."

This reads: do not record the words of God on a page without being able to reference the words of God on a page!

I would suggest, for your own information and interest, researching the origins of the Bible, and specifically the interesting fact that much of the Bible was only selected - indeed, written, 3 centuries after the time of Jesus.

The Bible has no more intrinsic authority than Neale Donald Welsch. That's not to say that either are correct, but you should think on it rather than just lashing out because something doesn't fit your totalitarian world-view.

Thanks for your time.

Just a few minutes ago I was flipping through the pages of this book and I could not believe the answers to the questions in this book. My assumption was this was a Biblically based book. Let it be known that this book is based on a miriad of theologies none of which have derived from Christian Biblical principles. Beware to parents who allow their kids to gain perspective or principles from this book.

You have got to be kidding!! This man knows nothing about God (big G) nor the truth! This book will NEVER be on my library shelf, nor will I recommend it for reading by anyone I know. Blasphemous and totally in error. God's Word certainly does not agree with this poorly written book of lies.

It is clear to me that Mr. Walsch's conversations were not with the holy God.

No one should read this book with the idea that Mr. Walsch has some "inside connection" to the sovereign God. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." NIV

This book promotes false advertising. The book should be called Conversations with Walsch. The ideas in this book are from his mind, worldview, and philosophy. It most definitely is not from God the creator of the universe. Walsch has made himself a god - that's scary, but he will be held accountable by the One True God.

This book is no good. Definitely doesn't lead teens in the way they should go. And thats fine if it doesn't claim to be a "Christian" book. No book should be titled in reference to "God" as this one is. Obviously the author was TRYING to attract Christians out there. Seriously if I wasn't a Christian I wouldn't of looked twice at this book.

This is completely ridiculous. Full of lies and inaccuracies. Do not put this book into the hands of your child. The dialogue is absolutely not Bible-based. Who in their right mind would tell a teenager that there "is no right or wrong"??!

What God is Walsch talking to? I have never seen any religion with such a liberal carefree god. If you are getting this book for a teenager to help them with their spirtual growth in every day problems this is by far one of the worst books I've seen.

This God basically says do what ever you want as long as you are okay with it... it doesn't matter to me. This seems to be a better book for rapist and murderer's because it lets everyone off the hook.

This book goes AGAINST Christian teachings. The author is an atheist wanker. Do NOT buy this book and support this attempt to poison our Christian youth. There should be an option to give a ZERO rating!

Educators, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles,
please pay special attention not only to the what
your kids watch on TV and in movie theaters and the
music they listen to ... but we must also be alert regarding the books they read.

Two particular books, Conversations with God and
Conversations with God for Teens, written by Neale
Donald Walsch sound harmless enough by their titles
alone. These books have been on the New York Times
best seller
list for a number of weeks. These publications makes
truth of the statement "Don't judge a book by its cover/title".
The author purports to answer various questions from
kids using the "voice of God." However, the "answers"
that he gives are not biblically-based a and in fact go against the very infallible Word of God.

For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks
the question "why am I a lesbian?" his answer is
that she was born that way because of genetics just
as you were born right-handed, with blue eyes, etc.
Then he tells her to go out and "celebrate" her
differences. Another girl poses the question "I am
living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I
should marry him because I am living in sin. Should
I marry him?" His reply is "Who are you sinning
against? Not me, because you have done nothing
wrong.

Another question asks about God's forgiveness of
sin. His reply - "I do not forgive anyone because
there is nothing to forgive.
There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is
what I have been trying to tell everyone. I do not
judge people. People have chosen to judge one
another and this is wrong because the rule is 'Judge
not lest ye be judged'." And the list goes on. Not
only are these books the false doctrine of devils
but in some instances even quote (in error) the Word
of God. These books (and others like it) are being
sold to school children (The Scholastic Book Club)
and we need to be aware of what is being fed to our
children. Our children are under attack so I pray
that you be sober and vigilant about teaching your
kids the true Word of God and guarding their
exposure to worldly media because our adversary, the
devil, "roams about as a roaring lion seeking whom
he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). And how many of us
know that lions usually hunt for the slowest,
weakest and YOUNGEST of its prey.
Pass this on to every believer you know.
God bless.

James Dobson, Ph.D.

Perhaps this book should be better titled Converstions with god (small "g") for Teens as the Holy Jehovah God would not reveal answers to questions in the way it is written here. This book is based on liberal man's interpretation and not what our youth need to hear. They hear that enough from television and society. I would NOT let my teen read this book. It is not Bible based and certainly not of GOD!!!
