Mayhem #1
By: Jamie Shaw
3/5 stars

Rowan aka Peach is a freshman at college and currently living with her boyfriend of 3 years. She goes to a rock show at a local club, she catches her boyfriend cheating on her. While trying to escape so she can cry, she meets Adam, the lead singer of the popular band that her and her friend came to see. He helps her out and makes her feel better. He wants to see more of her, but she doesn’t give him her real name or her phone number. He only knows her as Peach.

When Rowan starts college and goes to French class, low and behold, Adam is also in her class. Though, he’s not a very good student. He rarely goes to class on time, never comes with his book, pencil or notebook, comes in with a throng of groupies and eventually misses class as well. When is becomes apparent that he won’t pass the class or graduate, Rowan steps in to become his tutor. She refuses to let him know they’ve previously met and that she’s also Peach.

During a weekend of concerts and tutoring, Rowan sees the sweet, kind man beneath the rock star, man-whore persona. But she’s afraid to put herself out there again after dealing with her ex. She also knows that Adam isn’t a girlfriend type of guy and that she couldn’t stand to just be a one-night stand and then have to watch him with countless other groupies.

They become friends and Rowan makes sure to keep things on a mostly “friends-only” level which is a first for Adam. As they spend more and more time with each other, Rowan realizes that her feelings run deeper, but she is scared to death of his rejection.

I really would have liked to have Adam’s POV throughout the book, instead of just in the Epilogue. The Epilogue did run over a couple of highlights from the book, but I wanted more of his POV from the whole book. The book was well written, though it wasn’t unique, as is hard for most of the books in this genre to do. But it didn’t hold my attention well. I got to the point that I was hoping the end was coming soon.

**SPOILERS**
I thought this book was a lot like Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. Adam was like Travis in that he had groupies and could have anyone but chose “Peach” like Travis chose “Pigeon.” They were “friends” who slept in the same bed without doing anything other than him holding her, plus a few shared kisses. Both Peach & Pigeon either heard or witnessed Adam & Travis with other girls. (Though at one point Travis did have sex with other girls while Pigeon knew it and Adam only made out with other girls in front of Peach.) Peach moved in with Adam & slept in his bed with him, even though he had never let any other girl do that, just like Travis did with Pigeon. Adam helped out Peach when she was in a rough spot & literally no one else could help, just like Travis & Pigeon. Just a lot of similarities & I felt like I had already read this book.

The writing was good, and Jamie Shaw's debut novel had a lot of positives. However, all of those positives fell flat when compared to the amount of teenaged drinking and drunkenness that takes place! It sends a very irresponsible and downright dangerous message to the teens and young women who might read this book. Date rape is a very real issue that isn't even addressed here. Adam and "Peach" (sorry, Rowan) first meet, she's reeling from seeing her boyfriend kissing another girl at the same club when he's supposedly on a business trip. A few minutes (and a drink) later, and they're making out in his bed on the tour bus. What if he wasn't so nice? What if he hadn't taken no for an answer? There was never an issue with her and her friend's fake I.D.s, and in fact, I don't know if Rowan ever told Adam that she wasn't actually 21 years old.

What I liked: Rowan respects herself enough not to join the legions of groupies who draped themselves all over Adam at the slightest opportunity, and when they meet up again later after a French class and he doesn't quite recognize her, they become friends when she helps tutor him as the band is on tour for a few days. I also enjoyed the description of college classes, and how life looks when you're only 18.

This book had a lot of potential, but the underage drinking was too much. I couldn't get past that. I realize that I'm not the intended audience since I'm over 50 years old, but authors need to rethink the message they're sending.

Hot rocker, nice girl, hot first kiss, then friend zone. I love romances where the main characters become good friends before they ever have sex. Would love a sequel to see their relationship grow...hint to author!

My Thoughts:

I love rockstar romances. There is something so special about letting your imagination run away and take you to a place where you can live out a fantasy. That's what Mayhem did for me. I saw through the eyes of the main character Rowan "Ro," and felt like I was living this fantasy through her. I cannot believe that this is Ms. Shaw's debut novel! The way her characters and the plot completely drew me in, usually only happens for me with more experienced authors. I am suffering from a M-A-J-O-R book hangover right now! I wish I had Riot, the second book in the series, in my hand right now. I read Mayhem in one sitting, with only small necessary breaks in between. It completely blew me away!

In Mayhem, we get Ro's story. Ro is the quiet, intelligent, and studious person who is a loyal friend and a casual dresser. Her best friend, Deandra "Dee," is the wild one. One night when, Ro and Dee are going out to club, Mayhem, Dee convinces Ro to dress out of her comfort zone. Ro wears high heels, a tight short spandex skirt, and revealing sexy top. She feels naked, but decides to live a little, and have a great time with her best friend. Ro is a little disappointed that her long term boyfriend couldn't make it out with them, because he had to work. So, imagine Ro's shock, when she see's her boyfriend Brady kissing another girl at the bar. She is devastated, and goes to sob outside, where none other than hot playboy and lead rock singer, Adam Everest is smoking a cigarette. One thing leads to another and these two exchange a few drinks and kisses in the back of his tour bus. He is about to go on stage with his band, but asks her to meet him after their set. She never does...

A few days later, Ro begins her freshman year of college, and is shocked when she see's that he is in her level two French course. Unfortunately, Adam doesn't recognize her. For one, he's distracted by his entourage of groupies, and for another, Ro looks way different then the night that they met. She is wearing eyeglasses, no make-up, a messy bun, and homely clothes. After a month passes, and Adam is about to get kicked out of French by the professor, Ro, steps in and says that she is his tutor, and rescues him. This begins an adventure in where, Ro, travels with the band for the weekend, so that she can tutor Adam. The more time she spends with him, the harder she begins to fall, but Adam isn't the relationship type, or is he...

I loved all of the characters in this story. Adam was dreamy, sexy, sweet, and misunderstood. I fell for him hard! Ro, was the girl next door and extremely likable and relatable. Dee kept things interesting with her antics and commentary, as did their good friend, Leti. The members of the band where each good looking, swoon-worthy, and had unique personalities. It was hard to chose just one favorite! Adam, Shawn, Joel, and Mike, make for a great group of guys and I am hoping to get each and every one of their stories!

The plot in this story kept my attention from start to finish. What a page-turner! The chemistry and sexual tension between Ro and Adam was deliciously intense! When they finally got together, it was everything I had hoped for.

My Rating:

I give, Mayhem, by Jamie Shaw, 4.5 Super Sexy Book Boyfriend, Fantasy Come True, Friendship and Fun Filled Stars! If you are looking for a sensual and dreamy rockstar romance, read Mayhem!

I had pretty high expectations for this book after listening to a couple of my friends rave about it. Unfortunately it fell a bit short for me.

I had a tough time connecting with Rowan. I felt bad that her boyfriend cheated on her. I liked that she was finding solace with the rock star Adam. I loved how she interacted with her friends. But, she was just too wishy-washy for me. I wanted her to stand up for herself more. I hated the way she slut-shamed every female that wasn’t her or her best friend. If Adam was with a girl, she was automatically a skank or whore or some other unflattering name. I get it, you’re crushing on Adam and he’s hooking up with someone else, but point that anger towards him. I mean, after all, you hooked up with him the first night you met him. Pot… kettle.

There’s no denying Adam was sexy as sin. But he was also quite a jackass. As Rowan went on tour with him and his band and the two of them grew closer to each other, I hoped he would calm down and be better. He liked Rowan. There’s no doubt about that. But when she turned him down, he hooked up with other girls. And you wonder why she can’t take you seriously? I know this isn’t exactly uncommon in books, but it raises my hackles every single time. I just don’t buy it. If you feel as strongly for someone as you claim, you don’t hook up with other people. You especially don’t do it in close quarters with the person you’re supposedly falling for. Now, Adam didn’t take it to the extreme that I’ve read in some books, but it was still a total turn off for me. All that said, I have to admit that Adam’s growth throughout the book was great. I respected the changes in his character.

I wanted to love Rowan and Adam. I wanted to look past the disappointing things and focus on them together, but I couldn’t. She couldn’t seem to make up her mind and he just wasn’t trying hard enough for me. I found myself questioning how he really felt for her. It felt more like he only wanted her because she was unattainable, like he might enjoy the chase more than the real thing. It made me sad, too, because I really liked their chemistry and the pace at which the connection between them evolved, despite their unconventional first meeting. There was a ton of sexual tension that took far too long, in my opinion, to explode.

There was one thing I loved about this book – the secondary characters. They were fantastic. I actually liked them a lot more than I liked Rowan and Adam, if I’m being completely honest. I loved Ro’s friend Leti. He was hilarious; someone I’d definitely be friends with in real life. Rowan’s friend Dee was great in her own right. Adam’s band members were an interesting bunch of guys and I loved the dynamic between them. I might not have fallen in love with Rowan and Adam, but I definitely crushed hard on some of the secondary characters. I plan to continue the series just to see where life takes them. The secondary characters are pretty much the only reason this book gets three stars from me.

One of the things that turned me off to this book so much was the similarity to another (very popular) NA book I read a few years ago. There were just too many coincidences for me. The characters were similar in actions (even though Adam wasn’t nearly as … intense … as the main character in the book I’m referring to). The situations they faced, down to her moving in with him, were familiar. Now, I’m not saying this work was copied. I just felt, at times, like I’d read parts of this story before.

I know my opinion is in the minority, so maybe it’s just me. Despite its flaws, Mayhem was an entertaining read. It started strong, and while it lost some momentum for me somewhere in the middle, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pretty well wrapped up in Rowan and Adam's story. As I said above, I do plan to read Riot because I’m really interested in Joel and Dee’s story. I liked them in this book and I want to see what happens next.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.

We first meet Rowan "Ro" and Deandra "Dee" while they were waiting in line to see a concert at Mayhem. Ro kept pulling her dress down but unless she wanted to show the tops of her panties instead of the skin to her thighs, she couldn't do anything about it. Dee and Ro have been standing in line too long to have someone cut in front of them. So Ro says something to the person who turned out to be Adam Everest. While they are at the concert Ro texts her boyfriend Brady and he doesn't answer her. She sees him and text him again and he looks at it and doesn't answer and she saw him kiss another woman. So she goes to get some air and Adam came out to smoke. What happens next? You will have to read the book to find out.
Rowan is eighteen years old. She is a very self concious person. goes by Ro and gets called peach by Adam. Deandra "Dee" has been Ro's friend since preschool, she is a very outgoing person. She is also very protective of Ro. Brady is a cheater, Ro's ex boyfriend. Adam Everest is the lead singer of the band. He doesn't do relationships. He is in Ro's French 201 class. Leti is gay, he is in Ro's French 201 class. Ro's Friend. Shawn is a guartist for the band, Adam's friend. Mike is the drumer for the band, he is happy that he found Ro because she is good at Call of Duty. Cory is another Guartist in the band.
This is my first book by Jamie Shaw and it most definitely will not be my last. This is the first book in the Mayhem series. Her writing style drew me into the story and made it really hard for me to put down. I truly loved how well the characters were developed and I can't wait for book 2 to come out. If I could give this book more than five stars I would.

Five stars for Mayhem by Jamie Shaw. One glance at the Mayhem cover containing an endorsement quote from one of my favorite new adult authors, Jay Crownover and I knew this was going to be a rocking book.

I loved the way Adam and Rowan have a sexual attraction/connection at their first meeting, when Adam knows her as "Peach. Then when Adam re-meets her and doesn't recognize her as Rowan, they instantly start connecting on a more personal level. Their relationship develops at a perfect pace with the perfect amount of building sexual tension.

The banter and interaction between the band mates and Rowan's friends is fun, and makes me look forward to more stories from this cast of characters. Mayhem is a fun, sexy read that I found hard to put down. I look forward to reading more books by this debut author.

Note: I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions listed here are my own.

4 “Adam freaking EVEREST, I Heart You” Stars!

The Review:
I absolutely adored this read. This is Jamie Shaw’s debut novel and It. Was. Wonderful!

The story wasn’t to terribly original, as we’ve seen this scenario many times before, but the author’s clever writing, witty dialogue and wonderful character creating overshadow any rehash in storyline.

I couldn’t get enough of her characters. Adam is the quintessential bad-boy/man whore and Rowan is the innocent nerd girl with a sex-kitten hidden behind the glasses. The author does a terrific job towing the line between bad-boy rocker with a sweet side and player.

Adam lives his life on his own terms, not doing anything he doesn't want to do and he’s predictably against any type of commitment. The moment he meets “Peach” crying on the stoop outside Mayhem, she takes him by surprise because she’s not like all the other girls. And that night lives in infamy as Peach disappears into the night.

Rowen is devastated the night she meets Adam but his saucy charm helps her past the most devastating thing that’s ever happened to her. But even as he’s inviting her to his bed, she knows that’s not the answer and disappears into the night, only to see him again in the most unexpected place. Quiet obsession ensues, until she finds the opportunity to help him like he helped her that night.

Their connection is sweet and definitely on the friends side but you can certainly see the spark. I loved the slow built and Ro’s innocent wasn’t overly obnoxious. In fact, it fit her circumstances perfectly. She was spunky and vibrant and her character stood out. I loved her no-nonsense style and I enjoyed her frankness. When she once again meets up with Adam after that night, she hides who she is and hides her heart from more heartbreak. I get why she did the things she did and I was cheering her on to get the happiness she deserved.

Adam and Rowan were a lot of fun. Their banter back and forth was playful and made me laugh more than once.

The Wrap Up:
This story was great. I stayed up all night reading and simply couldn't put it down. There was just enough angst to keep me happy, the writing was amazing, the characters were fascinating and I totally got butterflies in a few places! I especially loved the BFF’s and the little side stories going on. The entire band won me over and I can’t wait for their stories.

And that ending... it left me with a HUGE grin on my face and couldn’t have been more perfect. This might have been my first book by this author, but it’s certainly not my last! Well done Jamie Shaw!

I really liked this book because he contained a lot of back and forth comedy and of course a lot of flirting. Adam was the guy that every girl wanted because he was in a band but the one girl that he wanted didn't want him. Rowan just encountered something shocking in her life and in walks Adam and completely throws her off. He is the one guy that she wants but knows that she should not have. I love the other characters in this story because they show you what friends are really like and they keep the story interesting and makes you want to know more about them. I look forward to reading the other books in this series and see what will happen with the other characters and of course Adam ad Rowan

A totally enjoyable new adult romance from start to finish. It was like a rich chocolate dessert that got better as the story and relationship between Rowan and Adam got more intense and enjoyable. Rowan and Adam are so enjoyable to read and characters that are just so different or so they think.

I really love how this book starts, at a rock concert where Adam is the lead singer. Rowan deciders to go to the concert with her best friend Dee, but she is dressed very sexily. When she bumps into Adam, he calls her Peach. Adam is very attracted to Peach. Yet Rowan spots her boyfriend at the concert with some other girls. She is too concentrated on her ex to really get into Adam. Yet, this leads to some interesting things happening. Rowan really breaks up with her boyfriend and then moves out of the apartment she shares with her now ex-boyfriend and moves in with Dee. Rowan with the help of Dee decides to start take some control of her life.

Things get much more interesting when Adam shows up in her French class one day. I thought that this was interesting. Adam doesn’t see Peach, but rather Rowan. He thinks of her as an ordinary person but doesn’t realize she’s the girl/woman he has been fantasizing about. During French Class, she overhears the teacher and Adam getting into an argument and says that she has been tutoring him. After she tells the professor the lie, the professor decides to give Adam one chance. This allows for something to happen that she doesn’t expect.

What she doesn’t expect is for her to actually be tutoring Adam for real or spending time on the bus with Adam and his band. I thought this was a great way for Adam and Rowan to be together and spend time in a way that was different and unique. Plus they really get to know one another. Their chemistry was just great. Also the way that Adam starts to realize that Rowan is perfect for him once he discovers that she is Peach. It changes a whole lot of things about the relationship. Plus Rowan fears that she might not fit Adam’s lifestyle. This is a big issue for her. Adam helps Rowan overcome that fear when he does this big romantic gesture towards the end of the book. I felt that they were just so perfect.

Plus their were some moments of great comedic dialogue through out the book. I also like how the author weaved in some of what we can expect in the next book of the series, with it being focused on Dee. Dee is Rowan’s best friend and one of the best things about it I thought. She helped Rowan a lot in this book.

I totally loved this book and can’t wait to read the next few books in this series.

OMG! LOVED IT! This story has it all. There is some drama between Rowan and her ex. There is humor. There are great friendships being built. There is uncertainty. There are bitchy groupies. And there is steamy love. I loved the group dynamic when Rowan meets the band. I really liked the way the main characters relationship progressed. This story had everything I look for in a rocker romance. I wish all the best for this up and coming author and can't wait to see where this series will go

A super cute debut novel about an innocent and sweet young woman and the relationship weary rocker she falls for. Jamie Shaw delivers characters that are easy to like. "Mayhem" delivers a story with subtle sexual tension, not a ton of steam but a lot of swoony kind of love!

Rowan aka "Peaches" is an eighteen year old college freshman who goes through a significant heartbreak at the beginning of the book. After three years with the love of her life, she discovers that he has been cheating. Now all the plans, decisions and thoughts she has made and thought would happen in the future will never happen.

Adam Everest is the hot and amazing lead singer in a band. Not too flashy or douchy, he knows how to win a crowd. He's a kind of tell it like it is, I don't do anything I don't want to do guy. Not the most diligent of students, Adam shows up just at the right moment to briefly take Peaches' mind off her cheating boyfriend but just when things start to get heated, Peaches disappears.

Fast forward to the first days of class and Rowan and Adam have French together but he doesn't recognize her due to the lack of makeup and attire she was wearing at the club. Now, when Adam needs some help in order to pass the class, Rowan agrees to help, must to her surprise.

When tutoring turns into a weekend tour, Rowan and Adam find themselves in some precarious positions that threaten to ruin the "friendship" she is so desperate to maintain. Rowan can't believe that Adam would ever want more and she is just not the one-night stand type.

Feelings and emotions can get really messy when you add a tour bus, groupies, alcohol and some sultry music. Rowan has serious self doubt when it comes to whether a man like Adam could ever want her for more. Will Adam be willing to give up the groupies when it's clear that he's never done a relationship before?

It was nice and refreshing to get a rocker romance that didn't rely heavy on the drama but rather the budding relationship of two genuinely nice people. I loved all the band mates and can't wait to read their stories as I follow the "Mayhem" series!

Adam comes across as your typical cocky rock star, but with Rowan, he is the sweetest guy. I love the story line, I couldn't put the book down. I only wished that the book was done in alternating point of view. I would have loved to know what Adam was thinking the first time he met Rowan, etc. This is a must read. I'm definitely going to buy the second book of this series.

If you read only one rock star romance this year, make it Mayhem!

College freshman, Rowan Michaels, is at a local concert with her best friend when she see's her live-in boyfriend of three years with another woman. Distraught and heart-broken, Rowan seeks some quiet and fresh air just to let it all go when she is interrupted by the lead singer of the band she is there to see, Adam freaking Everest. He comforts Rowan in a way that she'll never forget. But when she arrives on her first day of french class she is shocked to see Adam in class as well, only she obviously wasn't as unforgettable as he was because he doesn't even notice her. Not until she saves his butt by covering for him with their professor and agreeing to tutor him. When one weekend of french tutoring turns into a weekend of concerts, after parties, strawberry pancakes and too many groupies though Rowan knows that she must keep up her just-friends facade if she has any hope of not having her heart broken a second time.

Mayhem took me by surprise in the best possible way. I really had no idea what I was getting into starting this book since I only took a cursory glance over the synopsis and there weren't many reviews available at the time. What I received when opening this book was a captivating story with intriguing characters and an enchanting dialogue that kept me up until four in the morning reading non-stop. And I wasn't even upset over the three measly hours of sleep I managed to get because of it.

Rowan was a refreshingly real eighteen year old woman whose life was turned upside down when she found her boyfriend in the arms of another woman. Confused, angry, and afraid to have her heart trampled on again she insists on a friends only policy with sexy rocker Adam even though she desires him with every fiber of her being. Adam in turn was a perfectly imperfect hero to the story who grew with every page from a self involved womanizer to a caring friend and loving partner who would do anything to make Rowan happy. It's a slow, but burning, build to the sex between Rowan and Adam and there was no denying the chemistry that sizzled between these two from the start. However, the gradual shift from friends to lovers worked well for these characters and didn't drag down the plot one bit. In fact, the plot itself was fast-paced and intense. I honestly could not put this book down. The book set up the series well also with little glimpses into the secondary characters, each who I loved. Especially band mates Mike and Shawn. I do so hope it isn't a long wait before their stories. The book is told completely from Rowan's perpective until the very end were we get a peek into Adam's head in the epilogue which I thoroughly enjoyed!

The only reason that I am dropping my rating down to 4.5 instead of 5 is because the story has been done before and while reading I couldn't help but think I've read this same story-line somewhere else. Despite that though, Shaw somehow delivers a captivating story I couldn't get enough of. Putting her stamp on the well-loved bad boy rock star and nerdy girl romance trope.

A stellar new voice in the new adult romance genre, Jamie Shaw is an author to keep your eyes on! Mayhem is definitely going on my favorite books of 2015 list. I cannot wait for the next book in the series, Riot, and I look forward to more delicious tales centering around these heartthrob rock stars.

Mayhem, unlike so many romances these days, is written entirely from the POV of Rowan our virginal college freshman who's striving terribly hard not to fall for rocker Adam Everest. She knows he's a player, he doesn't even bother denying it, and after getting her heart broken in the first chapter by her long term high school sweetheart, she's just that little bit too smart to go diving into something that has "trainwreck" written all over it.

So while she has a very special encounter with Adam straight after catching out her boyfriend, she's determined to leave it at that. Her resolve isn't helped any by him turning up in her French class on a regular basis, but that's at least mitigated by him not recognizing her.

Then of course comes the point where the rubber hits the road (and so does the band). Overhearing that Adam is about to be failed, she brazenly jumps in to save his bacon, telling their professor that she's already started tutoring him and will be doing more over the weekend before the big test coming up.

After the professor is placated, Adam points out the hitch in her plan. The band is touring all weekend, so the only way for her to tutor him is to come with.

A really nice story about a guy learning to be friends with a girl while the girl learns to let go with the guy.

I absolutely love this book. The only reason I put it down at all was for this pesky little thing called sleep, but if not for my eyes closing on me, I definitely would have stayed up all night to finish this.

I think the best thing about Mayhem is how real it feels. I loved the characters, the relationships between them, the humor - which had me grinning like an idiot a lot- and just about everything, actually.

I love Rowan's relationship with Dee, Leti, the rest of the band, and (obviously) with Adam. She's such a strong character, and I love how their relationship grows. Like I said before, everything feels so real. Even the simple conversations between characters is real. I didn't feel like I was reading a book - I felt like I was experiencing everything Rowan was, and that just makes me love Mayhem even more.

I'm excited to start Dee and Joel's story in Riot and the rest of the series, but I don't know if they can beat my love of Rowan and Adam. I hope we get to read more about them in future books! They absolutely perfect for each other <3

*Any book that can make me grin this much is going to be remembered for a long, long time. You're on my radar now, Jamie Shaw ;)

Rowan is definitely not looking or feeling like herself in the short skirt and killer heels her best friend Dee made her wear to this concert. When she stops a guy trying to but in line it is her first contact with the very hot lead singer, Adam Everest. After she tries to get past her embarrassment she settles in to enjoy the concert when she sees her boyfriend with another woman. Rowan runs out of the club to try to put herself back together. Soon a very sexy lead singer is sitting next to her trying to comfort her. Before she knows what she's doing she is in his tour bus making out with him. Soon this wild diversion from her normal life ends all too soon and Rowan is back to her normal life. But that doesn't last long. Adam Everest re-enters her life in her french class. He doesn't recognize her and she hides behind that. Not long she volunteers to tutor the failing rock star and its that one crazy weekend with him on a tour bus that changes everything. But can she let herself fall for a known heart breaker or will she wall up her heart so she won't get hurt again?

I fell for this story. I was so taken in that I stayed up way past my bedtime because I just couldn't stop at the next chapter. I am a big fan of rock star romances. This one definitely ranks up there with some of may faves. Rowan and Adam's love affair is one that is very enviable. It wasn't just Rowan and Adam, the rest of Adam's band and Rowan's friends make for such a comical addition. I did laugh out loud may times throughout the entire book. The story and dialogue is so relatable and fun. If you are looking for memorable characters, a hot rock star, romance, comedy and so much more than you need to grab this book. I guarantee you won't want to put it down til you finish ever last word.

Adam is the bad boy rocker that loves the ladies, for one night! Rowan is a good girl who has been burned. This is a cute and romantic story about the bad boy and the good girl. A little makeup and a short skirt turn Rowan into Peach for a night and Adam is hooked! Only problem is when "Peach" is Rowan, Adam is clueless, mostly.

This was a great audio book. I couldn't stop listening to this book. I immediately liked Rowan. She thought she had life all figured out. College freshman, long-term boyfriend, amazing best friend. And then it shatters. The boyfriend part that is. So what does any self-respecting college student with a good head on her shoulders do? She goes on a long weekend tour with a rock band, to tutor a guy she doesn't even know, except for the fact that he is an amazing kisser. Seems rational to me.

I loved the dynamic between Rowan and the band mates. She was such a good fit for the lead singer Adam, that the relationship that formed throughout the book were fun to read. The was the perfect length and I everything happened so smoothly.

I enjoyed the narrator(s) too. The epilogue was told from Adam's point of view, which just complimented to book so well. What a great idea. I can't believe I waited so long to read this book. But doesn't that always happen?

Sweet, sassy, soulful! I absolutely loved it, hated for it to end! For a hot rocker story, Mayhem was surprisingly tame. The characters were laugh-out-loud funny, even the trouble-making ones. The heat from good girl Rowan set hot rocker Adam on fire. And when Adam punched out Rowan's slimy, cheating ex-boyfriend, well there are just no words. Awesome story!

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I'm not really into cheesy romance novels, BUT THIS BOOK WAS SO GREAT!! I am SO happy I read it! As a reader who normally reads high fantasy and science fiction, I was a bit iffy on reading this genre... but I am glad I did. I would recommend this book to anyone and EVERYONE.
