The Grecian times were amazing and horrific simultaneously. The intellectual advances were astounding and yet, the internal warring was destructive and detrimental. This tale captures the destructive and detrimental with style and energy. A captivating read...no pun intended!

A story of childhood and love lost,the dreamer becoming fighter and the training his own couldn't get him to accept now his means to survive.
Narcel must endure his life as it has become and then take the chance when he can to try to regain all that he's lost in this first book in a trilogy by an amazing writer.

An excellent start if a series. Sword and sorcery at its finest, with a touch of romance and sex thrown in for good measure. It will keep you engrossed from start to finish. I am eagerly waiting to read part two.

Great story of youth, brothers, love and loss set in a world of gods, wars, kings and servants. This story takes so many twists and turns you don't want to put it down in case you miss something. You will want to read the second book as soon as you finish the first. I can't wait to read the third!

Overall I really liked the story. The characters behaved in a way that I could visualize for a sword and spear civilization. The Mawtu are as ruthless as any people I could visualize in our times. This story was presented in such a vivid and natural way anyone would enjoy it.
