This book is terrible. First, it wasn't published by a publishing company...? Which makes sense considering there are excessive grammatical errors. Second, the author literally references the KU KLUX KLAN as an example of a group that concerns itself highly with the "value stage" of friendship. He says, "they are built upon a specific set of beliefs that bonds them together. We are similarly looking for people who think like us, and who we can ultimately relate to." If the author sent this to a publishing company, they definitely would have turned it down. Waste of money... you can google psychological studies for FREE.

Pleasant book to find by chance and read. Some lessons are common sense, but most are not.
Even if they are common sense, hey it's cool to see studies and evidence to help you act in the best way possible to be liked. If anything they emphasize how little we do these things, even if they are common sense. We can't be bothered, but some behaviors and signals are so small we should do them everyday... like being more endearing...
If nothing else, the science of likability is a reminder of what is possible, and what we never thought possible -- both backed by scientific studies. I love learning and I felt like I learned quite a bit about human and social psychology.
I recommend this book if you want to understand people better and what makes people tick.

"100% scientific and proven ways to ...be flat-out likable." As the author claims to have a psychology degree of some kind and applies 27 psychological studies (I didn't count), the information seems likely to be credible. Psychological phenomenon are named, so it's possible to find extra information about those which interest you. Thanks for writing something useful!
I wish that the author's credentials and the copyright date were prominently displayed on the book in a standard manner such as a blurb on the back cover and with the addition of a copyright page. Centering the text on the back cover will also give the book a greater impression of authority. The front cover is attractive. The use of "science" in the title prompted me to read the book.

I'd recommend it. Goes beyond psychology and shows a certain understanding of people and human nature that I don't think I've read about before. Granted it has been years since my high school psychology course, but this was infinitely more entertaining.
Reminds me of the The Like Switch, another great book on the topic. I liked The Science of Likability's more straightforward and direct manner, though. Big ups to the author.

Didn't like this book much. Most of the information just felt off to me. I didn't get anything from this book. Not sure if someone recommended it to me or her I thought this book might do for me but was not a book
I could recommend.
I could recommend.

Mr. King has done it again. He does a spectacular job in breaking down the scientific/psychological studies into examples and anecdotes for the everyday reader to not only easily comprehend, but actually enjoy reading. Each of the chapters consist tips and practical advice that every reader can use in their daily lives, and is relatable to almost everybody because everyone wants to be liked. Highly recommend everyone to take a read.

Right up my alley. Love nonfiction, especially psychology books. Sometimes it feels like our brains are like the oceans, in that very little of them have been truly discovered and “solved.” Great read, clear and direct and fun.
