Good grief, talk about confusion...how many versions of one book does an author need! I'm glad I did some research into which version to read. This review is for Under Mr. Nolan's Bed: TEMPTATION. It is set in the 1950's, features a college-age heroine, Leah, and Rob Nolan, her best friend's father. So there is no age taboo other than younger woman/older man. She is legal and a very consenting adult, so consenting lol. Although they have known each other for years, nothing is awkward or inappropriate. They don't think of each other "that way" until she discovers his porn when she is around 20-21years old and in college.
There really isn't too much plot here other than coming of age, fear of their affair being known, and good old fashion guilt and sex, so much sex, to the point it almost got repetitive. The trick is the setting - it's the mid 1950s so a young Catholic woman isn't supposed to feel lust let alone act on it by masturbating, brazenly flirting with an older man, watching dirty films, looking through erotic pictures, kissing and fondling her best friend, and having sex before marriage. Leah does it all and a lot of it in one night! If it had been present day, it wouldn't have been nearly as titillating.
Eventually, the affair becomes known as her best friend, Erica, discovers them and slowly comes to terms with it. Leah's mother also finds out and throws a wrench into their relationship. If there wasn't two more books I would have probably freaked out. I think - I hope - this is all a huge misunderstanding or ploy by her mother to break them up. I already know the twist that is going to be revealed in book two, it's pretty obvious even if Leah doesn't realize it.

Temptation -Under Mr. Mr. Nolan 's Bed, referred hereafter as TUMNB, is the latest incarnation of Selena's original UMNB novel. Due to it's infamous nature with the store, rewrites were required. Plaid Skirt Confessions came next, sand now this third version.
Having read all of the versions from the very first, I must say this third variation is by far the best, with the best developed story line, and the necessary changes to let Selena expand the storyline into a new trilogy.
All of Selena's books have a way of drawing you into the story as if you're a fly on the wall watching everything unfold before you. Most of the situations in her books are completely believable, and once the heat is turned up the pot always boils over. Many of her location references to Michigan just add that extra touch to the story to make it believable.
the true magic in all of the Selena's novels is that she makes you wish you were one of the characters in the novel, experiencing everything you are reading. This third iteration of Under Mr. Nolan 's Bed comes highly recommended with a five star rating. Definitely leave you wanting more which are coming in book 2 and book 3.

Blackraven's Review:
Before I start this review, I must confess that I've read the original Under Mr. Nolan's Bed and loved it. With that being said, I also love the changes that Ms. Kitt has incorporated into Temptation, the latest revision of under Mr. Nolan's Bed. While the sex was still smoking hot, the plot was so much deeper and well-developed. Selena Kitt has managed to draw the reader into the culture of the 1950s, as well as what was occurring in the Catholic church. While some may consider Temptation taboo like Under Mr. Nolan's Bed, I must disagree.
In my humble opinion, Ms. Kitt has penned a compelling story about two people who unexpectedly fall passionately in love with one another. While it may have been considered taboo in the 50s, by today's standards, it not uncommon for an older man to fall in love and marry a younger woman, or vice versa, which is what made this story so intriguing. The dialogue was rich and believable, the characters remain genuine and lovable, the setting is absolutely amazing in that it's so realistic that there's no doubt in my mind that Ms. Kitt did her homework. The secondary characters were well-developed and three-dimensional, as they increased the complexity of the plot. I couldn't help but wonder what secrets Leah's mother is hiding and how it all relates back to the church because things are definitely not what they seem in Temptation.
The sexual chemistry between Leah and Mr. Nolan simply crackled with electricity. Once these two gave into their desires, the sex scenes were passionate, raw, and uninhibited. I loved how Ms. Kitt gradually builds the sexual tension between this couple through sexy, sensual pictures and movies that leave nothing to the imagination. Moreover, it was interesting watching Erica and Leah explore their sexuality and come out of their shells and the safety bubble that has surrounded them all of their lives. Their friendship was endearing, yet plagued with trials and tribulations that I believed was handled with finesse and a level of maturity that most adults would have been unable to obtain. I loved the witty banter and innuendos throughout the book that added the mystic of the characters and how all of this would play out in the end. My only niggle with the story revolved around a few minor editing problems, but they weren't bad enough to take me out of the story.
In regards to the ending, let's just say that Ms. Kitt has one heck of an imagination and knows how to write a cliffhanger that's draw dropping - literally. I simply can't wait to see how all of this is going to play out in Confession the second book in the series and Grace the third book in this amazing trilogy. I have sat on pins and needles for a long time wondering what happened to Leah at the end of Under Mr. Nolan's Bed and the idea that my answer is within my grasp has me chomping at the bit. :) Although Selena Kitt kept the majority of the original story of Under Mr. Nolan's Bed, the changes that have been incorporated into Temptation makes this one compelling story that you don't want to miss. I was so enthralled in this riveting book that entails forbidden love that I read it in one sitting and immediately started the second book, Confession. Did I forget to mention that it was 3:00 AM in the morning? To me, that's a testament to Ms. Kitt's creative imagination and dynamic writing skills. If you haven't picked up your copy of Selena Kitt's Under Mr. Nolan's Bed trilogy, then you're definitely missing out. Bravo Ms. Kitt! You've knocked the ball out of the park with Temptation and I'll definitely be recommending it to my friends.

Book 1 – Selena did a great job introducing us to the characters and making their world come alive. I felt that I really could see the warehouse/home of the Nolan's. The discovery the Ladies made in the dark darkroom plus within themselves. The joy of discovering their own sexuality was very well described. Leah falling in love with Rob was so beautiful. I totally was able to see her becoming pregnant but did NOT see the coming shocker that her mother dropped on Rob!! Well done!

Ms. Kitt has delivered a terrific tale of innocence lost and love found. Though I know that this is a rewritten story I never read the original so I had no preconceived notions about what to expect. Regardless I was pleasantly surprised to realize that it was so much more than just the smut that I'd honestly expected. As a mother I'd expected to be horrified but this was written so well and in such a way that it's truly a coming of age tale that I could see happening in the real world.
Taking place in 1950s, when girls were kept so protected and innocent that they truly believed such things as you "couldn't get pregnant the first time" and pornography was illegal. We are shown this world through the lives of Leah, her best friend Erica and Erica's dad, Mr. Nolan. I honestly kept catching myself thinking of stories that my own Mom has told me about those times and thinking how true to life this story is. While yes, there are really hot scenes there are also many scenes that evaluate the different relationships these people had.... I'm afraid to say much more because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. So let me just say that I am looking forward to reading the other two books in this trilogy and I highly recommend this book.
I would like to acknowledge that I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I first came across Selena Kitt years ago, with her book Bluebeard's Wife. Even though it had nothing but sex, well, I was hooked! I purchased more of her works, including Under Mr. Nolan's Bed, and let's just say it's my favorite of all favorites. I purchased the revised edition, and then I recently saw that she again is doing something with Under Mr. Nolan's Bed. She made it into a trilogy. I was uber excited. I requested a copy and when I read it, I was amazed, AGAIN! To have the same story three different ways is really a treat for a reader.
With this Trilogy, well, it's basically quenching one's thirst of "what happens now?" at the end of the story. For years I've been asking that question and it's finally being answered. I really liked the setting of this book, it makes the events that happen all the more salacious. I also like the flow, although Selena has had major amounts of time to perfect it ;) Everything went down smoothly. All in all, it was a fun, hot and erotic read, and I can't wait to continue the series!

This is a revised edition of the original story Under Mr. Nolan's Bed. I've actually read all three versions of this story.
There were many changes to this book from the original. Some of the changes I liked and others I'm not sure about. I don't remember the original being set in the 1960's. This one definitely was. At first I wasn't sure how I felt about it, but after reading the entire story I realize it actually adds to the story. it makes it better.
There were many scenes added to this one. It helped add to the temptation and tension between Mr. Nolan and Leah.
The biggest change...the ending! Oh boy! What an ending we have here! I can't wait to read the next one. I have to know how this turns out! No, I'm not telling the ending! You'll have to read it to find out!
I received a copy of this from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I finished Temptation and I'm torn.
Having read the original, and then the new one, within two days of each other, I could see very well the areas where the stories joined, then the others where there was pretty well a complete rewrite.
It left me a little unsatisfied, because of the things that had to be changed, due to the era it is set in.
It is certainly erotic enough, first time readers who have not read the original will be more that pumped up by the heat. Selena Kitt certainly knows all the right buttons to push.
I am pretty sure that I will be getting the second part, for all the differences, I need to see how it will play out.
**I was supplied with a free ARC for my honest review of this product**

Well there was certainly no temptation for me to finish this book. I always read the reviews and since this book had positive reviews I decided to give it a try. Let me say 99 % of the time I will finish a book even if it is boring...I just keep thinking it has to get better, but with TEMPT. I gave up around 46%I found it distasteful. Just saying...I do read a lot of erotica yet this one was just not for me. JMO

I received Temptation as an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. I read the original Under Mr Nolan's Bed and the re-write did not fall short of my expectations. My only drawback however was the time period it was written in. With that being said I couldn't put the book down for one second and I am anxiously awaiting the rest of the series! I would highly recommend this book!

I started this story with the Plaid Skirt Confessions version and this one is much better. Selena Kitt writes not just erotica but stories that are erotic, you get caught up with the characters. If you are looking for a good read, and want something with a little heat, Selina Kitt is the author for you.

Selena never disappoints. I do not read many books, but 3/4 of what I have read are from Selena Kitt. I am a very slow reader, most books loose my attention, but the original UMNB kept me coming back for more. Not finished with this one yet, but I know I will be getting the next in the series soon.

Please RateTemptation (Under Mr. Nolan's Bed Book 1)
Temptation is one hot read. Ms. Kitt has set it in the mid to late 1950's. She has captured that era beautifully. The time period is one where good Catholic girls and boys do not think about sex and they certainly do not act upon their urges. They go to church, confess their sins, offer up their penance, and behave themselves, denying the urges and never acknowledging them. When Leah sees the photographs she can no longer deny the sexual urges, nor can she unacknowledge them to herself. She refuses to tell Erica about the ones she has for Mr. Nolan but when she discovers Mr. Nolan has the same urges towards her, she will do everything she can to get him to acknowledge and act upon those urges.
Temptation is a tale of first lust and love. Leah sets herself up for a lot of pain when she succeeds in seducing Mr. Nolan. He does everything he can to put her out of his mind and life but it is a losing battle for him. Leah is too entrenched in his life, mind, and heart. Though he knows her mother, that does not stop Mr. Nolan from accepting Leah's gift and trust. It is later that I had to wonder how much Mr. Nolan does know about Leah's mother and her past. It also makes me wonder how truthful Patty, Leah's mom, has been to Leah. I have to admit I did not like Patty. She comes across as cold and unsympathetic, never maternal, more like Leah was in her way. Leah stayed out of her mother's way most of the book and when Patty pulls the maternal instinct card, it seems more punishment than concern.
Temptation is sexually graphic but it is all behind closed doors. No one talks about sex. Leah and Erica learn about sex when they discover Mr. Nolan's photos. Erica and Leah talk about sex between themselves and explore with each other. Erica also explores with Bobby. Both learn lust before they learn about sexual love. When Leah and Mr. Nolan begin it is lust for both of them. At some point during their sexual relationship, they begin to feel more for each other. That is when the tests begin. While Erica was trying out the boyfriend/girlfriend thing with Bobby, her road is rocky with the loss of the relationship. That is when she discovers Leah and her father have been involved with each other. This is the time when Leah has to decide which relationship she must sacrifice--Erica or Mr. Nolan. Not an easy choice for an 18-year old. How easy it is to promise, how hard to keep the promises.
Ms. Kitt's characters are well developed. I knew exactly what each character would do. The story is strictly from Leah's point of view. It is how each character acts towards her, how she acts or reacts to the others that I get to know each person. The secondary characters are interesting. Like Leah and Mr. Nolan, I did not like Bobby and wish Erica would stay away from him. The priests, Father Patrick and Father Michael, make me wonder how faithful they are to their priestly vows. There are a couple of scenes that raise those questions and put me on alert but it is very subtle. Erica is well developed as is Leah. They are young women on the verge of developing and defining their sexual selves. One wrong move could cause damage to their budding sexuality. I would like to see how they and their sexual selves grow. Neither is afraid of experimenting. I also liked how they both could admit what aroused them even if Leah could not tell Erica about Mr. Nolan.
Temptation is a great first book in this trilogy. The ending is a cliffhanger and made me mad when it stopped without answering my questions. Now I have to wait for the next installment, Confession. I do not want to wait. I want to know now what happens. Is Patty telling the truth? Why did Leah accept what she overheard? What will Mr. Nolan do? Is Leah being punished as Erica said she would? Why, oh why, are these questions not answered!
