The characters were believable. The story was interesting and kept you enthralled with twists. Readers can anticipate the outcome and are intrigued to remain reading to ensure that true love whether fiction or not happened to the main characters. This story leaves you hoping in destiny and that love can conquer all.

After reading other reviews and the description, I really thought this would be a great book. It was all right, but I can't give it anything past that. The characters were good, but the story around them didn't do them justice. This could have been a really great read, but fell short in so many areas. For one, I didn't really feel the connection between them that I thought should be there once they came together. Also, their interaction was just...boring really. There was some action ('m being generous here) which if built upon could have really intensified the story. Has potential, but didn't reach expectations.

There are some historical inaccuracies in this story, but they're easy to overlook. What I can't overlook is the airline's utter enchantment with 16th century Scotland. Wearing the same dress for days on end, no bathing, an utter lack of modern feminine hygiene products, etc. would try the patience of any modern woman who had grown up in 21st century USA. Regardless, the story moves at a fast clip and really is entertaining. Nicely written and cleanly edited. Some weird formatting.

Great read! Had me from the first chapter, I enjoy time travel books, and love highland warriors especially with a little magic. Everything I love about reading all I'm one book. Can't wait to read Drust's story.

This was an awesome highland romance book! It had all of my favorite things in it; Time-travel, Old Scotland with hot warrior men in kilts, some funny moments, mystery & suspense, an evil villain, kidnapping, a romance that grows to true love, and a little bit of magic.

I think this author did a wonderful job putting this story together. She makes you feel like you are a part of this book. Like you are living what the characters are living, feeling what they feel. I admit I even shed a tear at one point in this book! I felt so many emotions reading this. I was even at the edge of my seat (er bed) holding my breath waiting to see if they finally do get their HEA. Which they do of course! It wouldn't be an awesome romance if they didn't!

I highly recommend this book for those who love a good highland romance or time travel book. It does have a couple of descriptive sex scenes in it. If you don't like that you can just skip over them. Don't give the book a lower rating just because you are a prude! I can't stand when people do that. Either don't read the book (since you've now been warned about the scenes), or skip those parts. This author doesn't deserve to have her book rated lower because someone doesn't like love scenes.

Ok, back to gushing about the book...lol
I really think all romance lovers should read this book. It's a fun adventure and there isn't any "insta-love". The couple grow to love each other throughout the book. They are fated mates but they really get to know each other before saying "I love you" and just jumping into bed. You are taken on a fun and emotional adventure with a little magic thrown in. It's definitely worth a read! I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

I came across this book while searching for another. I am so glad I decided to read it and will now be reading the other two in the series. Bren and Faith's story is one that touches your heart. The perfect amount of paranormal, suspense, and drama. The sex scenes were nice and not too explicit, but boy these two couldn't keep their hands off each other. I recommend this book if these are the kind of things you look for in a good read. I read half the book in one day and hated to put it down. Thank you Ms. McKinnon for a great book. Can't wait to read about Drust and his story.

The story of good magick verses evil magick is always a good book to read, however it usually is the women casting spells. I very much enjoyed the fact that it was the male the was welding both the sword & the magick this time around. Having been raised in a different time but being born in a different time & not knowing either I bet could have been explained in better detail as the mother could also have been explored more. Still I will be reading the other two books in the series.

Good book. Great storyline and the characters were believable. They building romance worked in the story.

I did not feel that the first sex scene was a rape scene. She gave herself willingly. He didn't ask but she didn't fight or say no which would have been the signal to me to mean rape. I have read rape scenes before and this was not it.

I will go on to read the next book.

Really good story line and lots of action. I thought Faith should have freaked out more when she realized where and what time frame she was in but I guess with her schooling maybe she would remain calmer. One thing I would point out to the author... Women can be "pleasured" more then once when having sex, that was the only part of the book I felt could have used some improvement!! LOL!!!

Rented this book thinking it was a dragon shifter romance. it is not. but I still enjoyed it! some have talked about the rape scene, if you look at it in the continents that it was written it was justified and the heron knew it. Going to read the rest of the books.

Meh. The plot was relatively predictable, and the villain was severely underdeveloped as a character. Plus, the author needs an editor to go through and fix all the places where commas were left out and words were misused or misspelled.
