I wish the characters were explained more than once. I got lost with them a few times because there are so many. The cussing also is something I didn't like, but oh well. But I really love Keary Taylor's books and I'm sticking around for the whole thing. Please don't disappoint!

Once again, I found Keary’s writing very good and enjoyable, and I think that’s one of the main reasons why I’ve read and keep reading her books! No matter what kind of story she’s trying to tell, I’ve realized that her writing is always good! Anyway, let’s move on. . .to the setting! The setting wasn’t that big or mind-blowing, but it was perfect for all the vampire secrets that lay within the city and around its people. I honestly loved the way people reacted to those secrets and how that managed to make everything about Silent Bend intriguing and dark since the very beginning of the book!
Around this story we get to meet our main character, Alivia (who I didn’t enjoy much until like. . .the end?), Ian (who I ended up liking more than I thought I would), Rath (who I loved but still have questions about), Jasmine (a powerful and enjoyable character who made things very, very interesting), and of course, many more I won’t mention in case of spoilers. I got to enjoy the characters a lot, and the main reason was because I found them very original, mysterious and very, very interesting! Someone always managed to make whatever was happening more interesting by twisting it or adding something new. . .and guess who loved that!? Yes, me!
In the end, I must admit that at least once I did consider DNF this, but thanks to the writing, the vampire twists and some of the characters, I am glad I didn’t! I may have not loved it as much as I hoped to, but I did enjoy it a lot! Oh, and after that ending I can’t wait to see everyone’s reaction about it and get to know what happens next in book 2: “House of Pawns”.
