I really like this series... I am a little stingy on handing out 5 stars for my favorite favorites, so 4 in my books is still really good! I've read all 3 books out in a matter of a few days and can't wait for the new one next week!

I very much enjoyed the ideas behind these books but the authors writing is often confusing and so vague I don't understand what's happening at times and I have to reread it and realize I still have no clue what just happened because of the lack of explenation or odd lack of detail in the writing. The time she spent being held hostage in the first book was very confusing and wasn't addressed until a book or two later. Very confusing.

There are two things I consider when writing a review, the storyline and the characters. I didn't care for either in this book.
The lead character, Ruby, was ridiculous. She and her parents were attacked in the woods, her parents were killed by the attackers....starts of interesting, right? Well, Ruby was born blind and is miraculously cured during this event. I'm still not sure what they were doing in the woods. Her parents were academics that raised her very sheltered. Were they taking their blind daughter on a hike?
Less than a year later, Ruby has adjusted so well to the death of her parents and her new found vision that she has moved to a new city, abandoned her years of study, became a self taught jewelry designer, a fashionista, a runner and a dancer (an art she started while she was blind).
The male characters are just as bad. There is Sean, who is super gorgeous, super controlling and full of secrets that you will never learn in this book. Eric, again super gorgeous, super controlling and full of secrets. Cooper, who is super gorgeous, super controlling....sensing a pattern?
Throughout the book there are events that are just skipped over. What happened that night in the woods? Later in the book she was held captive and tortured for...well, I'm not sure how long because it's skipped over, no idea how long or what was done. But despite these reoccurring events, the girl continues to leave her door unlocked and shows no signs of PTSD.
The baseline of the story does have potential, it just fell short in so many ways.

Dear Readers,
this story has some very good characteristics. the story is interesting and original, the duality of the characters is believable and the world building is good as well.
this book should not be read by anyone under the age of 16.
*spoiler alert*
there is a rape scene detailed in the story which is in no way logical or realistic. any reader with a lick of sense should be offended by the way the character thinks, reacts, and acts after her rape experience. this was poorly done on the writer's part and has resulted in the low score for me.
if this could have been dealt with better, or even realistically i would have promoted it in good conscience. as it is, i'm offended by the attempt to portray a woman's reaction to sexual abuse. the writer either has no comprehension of her own stupidity or has failed to do any research that would have averted this current problem.
any victims of sexual violence should not read this series as it may cause emotional distress and anger.

Main characters who are often too naive, and reader already sees what is going to happen next. But some cases there is so much more. At the end I liked the internal description of the feelings for the main character - like in real life, what you feel or think now might be completely different of what you think tomorrow.

Very interesting. Like the characters. I think Coop Loves Ruby as much as Sean does and then there's Matty who is very infatuated with her. And she's just oblivious to it. Her new found sight has her not seeing things as they are. There is always the bad guy trying to kill her and everyone around her so there's so much going on. There's Ronnie and Peyta and how they figure in to all of it. Really good series. Good writing, good twists and turns. Highly recommend

I think this novel had real potential but either the writing or just the characters or something about it falls really flat. I read the whole series and it gets a little better.... wouldn't recommend though.

After reading a handful of good reviews and a handful of bad reviews, I decided to give Caged a shot. What's $.99 after all?
As a very aware person, some might say I'm overly feeling, I related with the main character and I found the book intriguing enough. I found time in my ultra busy life to read it, and that says a lot. The formatting was a bit different, but not too off-putting. I'd recommend Caged to my friends, and I've already sent a copy to my mother as a gift.

Tired of reading the usual werewolf stories with similar plot lines, it was a pleasant surprise to come across a series that grabbed my attention right away and held it until the last line of the last book. This book describes exactly how I imagine it to be in the real paranormal world. Not all love, lust and happily ever after. There are rules to be followed and consequences if those rules are broken. The main character could be you, me or a neighbor next door. All the characters are worth getting to know. Waiting eagerly for the next book in the series.

This series is yet another reason why i love the store and the way they categories! This series has been one of my book addictions since finding this amazing series! each character has their own personality, each situation the characters fall into suit each of them and if you like a good banter between characters this is your book! i cannot help myself laughing out loud and saying...also out loud...that is such a Cooper answer! i no longer care that people in public look at me like im crazy!

Ok so the book was interesting although i did get tired of the "you dont know" staments, just tell us!! where my problem came in was SPOILER!!!! Ruby gets raped repeatedly in the cage with shackles on that wont let her change but when Conner comes in for his turn she is her normal sarcastic self really?? You were raped how many times?? and there is just no mention of it or her state of mind. The only other mention of it is at the end of the book when her period comes and she is relieved cause she is not pregnant from the rapes. I am still very much interested in Sean and what happens when he comes back so I will give the book another go and see what happens.

When Ruby learns some harrowing details about her past, she goes on the run to escape from a legendary assassin. But this newfound knowledge leads to more questions than answers. Who really killed her parents? Why does she have such frequent and debilitating panic attacks? And most importantly, who can she trust? With her life on the line, Ruby must make a decision to follow one of two men, who each obviously know much more than they are telling her.
Wonderful snarky humor, flawed characters that you love to love (and love to hate), fast pace, original plot. I can't wait to read the next book!
Sookie, Bella, Katniss...you'd better move over, girls. It's time to meet RUBY!

Wow. I LOVED reading this book. I downloaded the sample to my kindle fire and honestly didn't know what the book was about. When I first started reading it, I thought it was about something completely different. When the "secret" came out I couldn't believe it! I couldn't put the book down and finished the same day and then purchased the second book in the series, Haunted. Others have reviewed they don't like Ruby, the main character. I actually love Ruby. I love her sarcasm! Besides, that's the beauty of writing - you can make the characters how you want. Not everyone has to love them, but I think the way Ruby is written is exactly what makes this book great! I am patiently waiting for the third book (Framed) to be released in April.

I am currently re-reading this series, and I honestly can't remember if I've left a review for this one, as of yet. First off, while I contacted the author AFTER reading this book, I had no idea of who she was when I did read it. I'm just noting that so you know my review is not biased. I see some of the comments that talk about lack of romance. What I loved about this series (and it's a fantastic series!!!) is that I didn't have to fast forward through a ten page love scene EVERY chapter! To me, that's an author who has to pad a storyline. The worl of paranormal romance/fiction is so full of that crap that it's expected, so, when a story isn't padded with that crap, it seems un-romantic. I thought the plot was great! I had no problems following it at all, although it seems some were just confused or unable to follow. I have nothing to say about that. The series is brilliant! I read this book in one night, and I'm on my second read of it now. That says a lot for me!

Great story/plot and character development. This book was fast paced and thought provoking with wonderful dialog. I could not put this book down and once I was done I promptly purchased the following book in the Caged Series. The second book was even better. Then of course I had to have the third book and was equally entertained by it as I was the first two. I read the three books in 1-1/2 days. Now I can't wait for the next book in this series!

This the first book in a thrilling new UF series, that is both very engaging and sometimes very hard to take. A well written and edited book, which has an equally gripping beginning that does't quite let up, until the very end. The content also seemed quite fresh for an already overwritten genre. I also couldn't have predicted what ends up occurring, based off the first quarter of the book. Overall, a very good start to promising new UF series.
Written in first person POV. After the death of her parents, Ruby awakens from a lifetime of shadows and finds herself alone, thrust into a world of lies, deceit, betrayal and the supernatural.
As her quest for truth continues to come up short, she realizes that maybe some questions really are best left unanswered. When her true identity is finally unveiled, she is forced to choose between two of the mysterious men who continually seem to crop up in her life. She chooses poorly.
I just had a couple of issues with this book, specifically at the beginning. One being a abrupt and poorly transitioned flashback (one specifically). There were also a few too many song and music references, in relation to real life. The author obviously loves music, and believes that books should have their own soundtracks. Another issue I had was the less than realistic reactions by the post traumatic protagonist.
Overall this book is definitely worth a notice for anyone interested in a fresh new UF read and isn't too sensitive to serious content. The references are there, but it is mostly treated in a YA manner.
Warning: Violence, Abuse, Assault, Reference to Gang Rape, Rape (However nothing is described in detail), Some Mature Content.

While Ruby's amazing shoe collection brought my love of her on instantly, her sass and whit kept me captivated. I adored that she kept her sense of humor in tact throughout the book.
This was my first Urban Fantasy novel, and I loved it. I never thought this particular style of novel would be something I would enjoy, but the author sucked me in and proved me wrong. I was enthralled from beginning to end, and then found myself wanting more. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.

I bought this book based on the positive reviews. Although the author makes an interesting concept for a story it was not well established. I kept getting side tracked every time a character changed clothes as their was an overly detailed and boring description about what they wore. I was annoyed by Ruby the main character who was blind but after a tragic accident she could see. Ruby lost her parents but you felt that her emotions were brief and she had very little sorrow. I just never felt any connection to Ruby. She was very sarcastic and never felt any sense of depth to her. I believe the author was attempting to build suspense by drawing out information as to what Ruby really is but by the time I got to that part of the novel I was done with the whole plot. After that it was just jumping forward to see if there was anything that was interesting. I was a little disappointed as I think the author wrote the suspense scenes very well. I just think poor character development and getting lost in clothing descriptions really ruined the read.

You're standing on him.""
And that is one of the best lines I've read in any book.
Great read for a rainy day and great start for a new paranormal series. As with all series I hope these books aren't dragged out ala Sookie Stackhouse.
Ruby is a work in process, most of the book she is confused in practically everything about herself, yet there's something very likeable about her. Cant wait to find the mystery behind Sean and Sophie and what sort of supe they are, if indeed thats what they are.
Coop is a wonderful character and want to find out his story as well.
And the evil doers are really well done.
Easy enjoyable read. Higly recommended.
