Oh wow! What a rollercoaster ride! Holy pancakes, that was intense. A fitting finale with twists and turns I didn't see coming, with nailbitingly thrilling scenes and hot potatoes dropped on you without warning and woven through it all this special humor we got to expect from the two authors who work so seemlessly together it is unbelievably fun to read their stories. Fitting end to a great trilogy!

Ryn & Tyrrik have mated and found the rightful queen of the Phaetyn. Now they must get all of the kingdoms to join together against the emperor. Only He has other plans for his heir-daughter Ryn.

This was so epic!! I had so many different emotions while reading this! Excitement, betrayal, love, despair, and sometimes even anger. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, heck this series!!

I got tired of reading this book. I honestly just stopped reading after ******spoiler****** Tyrric "died" but didn't. I got about two pages into that chapter and just couldn't take it anymore. I didn't actually finish the book. It took me about a week to read this final book which is very abnormal for me. The story itself was a bit confusing and contradictory from book one. At the end my mind was starting to itch with annoyance each page turned.

What a series. Loved everything about this world. building on the characters, and making the villain totally unliked. The Emperor ruled by fear and his iron will. How was his daughter going to beat him, when he could break into her mind and make her do something she would never do. Read the series, join the rebellion and totally enjoy a great read. Highly recommend.

Wow that was an amazing read though realizing midway through the first book Blood Oath that it was written for a young adult I had already committed to finishing it — and I am happy I had stuck to my conviction. Not only was the heroine Ryn strong-willed but so was her mate and hero Tyrrik. The trilogy is a must read. Wonderfully written!

This was a little disappointing after the first two. It was well written and had some funny moments and an interesting plot.
However there was a little too much focus on things that should have been skimmed over, and not enough focus on more interesting aspects. There were also some plot holes. **SPOILER** Why did her blood not kill the head honcho, but did kill her mom?**END SPOILER** I liked the progression of her relationship with Tyrrick, but I wish we would have been able to see his lair and hoard. I missed the funny shiny things obsession.
Also, for someone who has the fate of the realm resting on their shoulders, Run seemed too easily distracted and it felt like she never really grew up.

Content: A lot more sexual content than the other books.
No swearing.
A lot more violence than the other books.

What a great end to this series. Their were numerous challenges the main characters faced and I enjoyed the fact that their outcomes were not guaranteed to be rosy. Ryn and Tyrrick make such a great couple. I am going to look into another series by this author since I enjoyed her writing style so much.

Raye and Kelly, unsurprisingly, did not fail to deliver here. I am notoriously dissatisfied with endings to series (especially when I reeeally don't want to see them go) but this was fantastically done. There were the usual laugh-out-loud moments and a few cry-out-loud ones, too. All in all, I loved it.

The conclusion of this series leaves us with nothing to be desired. There is so much love, family, heartbreak, happiness. I loved going on this journey with these characters and I couldn’t be happier to see their ending.

I was given an ARC, so I am writing my honest voluntary review.

This is the final showdown between Ryn and Tyrrik and the Emperor. Great series what lots of love, drama and quirky humor. I love the personalities of the main characters. I also enjoyed how their love for Ryn brings them all together and makes them better people.

This whole series kept me captivate. You two are amazing writers and this final book had me laughing, sitting on the edge of my seat, crying, and over joyed. I will definitely be rereading this one. Would love to have a Tyrrick point of view would be awesome or even there future. So much more story there.

Well done!! Seriously one of my new favorites! The whole series was very well written. This book picks up shortly after the events of the last one and we find our heroine stuck in a gigantic pumpkin. War is coming and the allies are finally getting together. Ryn and Tyrrick’s relationship grows stronger and they give playing cards a while new meaning. They are so perfect together! I think everyone wants their own Tyrrick after reading this series! Ryn does not disappoint and keeps up her witty jokes throughout the book. The ending was absolutely perfect!

I enjoyed this conclusion very much. Who would have ever expected this kind of character arc for Tyrrik. I loved it. Ryn also had a lot of growth through the series and it was nice to read about a lady who is tough and fierce but also not a master of all. Raye and Kelly make a great team. Recommended this series so much.

Great read! This has been one of my favorite series! The first book was amazing! The rest kept you hooked. Be careful of the ending though...it was very confusing and if I hadn’t read it a second time, I would have thought it ended totally different than it did.

Mistress Moons and Giant Pumpkins! This book is phenomenal. The authors do a great job of mixing Dark Fantasy with humor, romance, adventure, and a superb plot that had me reading this book in one four-hour sitting without breaks. This series, which I have been following since Blood Oath was first released, has come such a long way, and it is clear that the characters have developed and have never stopped learning and changing since their story began. Ryn and Tyrrik have a wonderful, fun, comical, and sexy dynamic that only intensifies as the books progress. The authors have done a great job showing the journey the characters have taken and the risks and rewards they had to face because of their decisions. All in all, this is a must-read series that put me on the edge of my seat and kept me there until the story was over, and even then, the tale occupied my mind for days. I just couldn't--and still can't--get over how amazing this series turned out from start to finish and how well the authors worked together to accomplish this. Not only is this a five-star book/read, but this entire series goes above and beyond what a five-star rating means. It is easily one of my favorite series I've read to date and can't wait to see what other stories these authors will release in the future.

Incredible! I am blown away with all the humor, adventure, action and romance all packed into one epic series! When reading the first book I didn't know where this series would go, but I believe Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Clare couldn't have done a better job with this book. There were many moments that made me laugh out loud, and others that made me cringe with fear for the heroes, but overall I couldn't have been happier with Black Crown. I am only sad to see this series end as I am absolutely hooked on the characters and interesting story line. I highly recommend this book, series, and the authors.

I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own.

This was such an amazing book. You would think that in this book Ryn and Tyrrik would get a breather after all that they have gone through in the previous books but you know that's never going to happen. I love how as they are facing the challenges thrown at them by the emperor, Tyrrik and Ryn relationships grows closer and Ryn at last admits that she loves Tyrrik. I love the Ryn's comments about various things happening around her and the situations she gets into as they made me laugh even as the story set my nerve on edges trying to find out what was going to happen next. I wish this series didn't have to end.

This book was the perfect finish to this series! I really enjoyed this entire series, but this may have been my favorite book in the series. I felt like the relationships developed so much during this book. I absolutely love both Ryn and Tyrrick (who doesn't want their own Tyrrick?). He even has to save her from a giant pumpkin - which made me laugh out loud. Absolutely fabulous, and although I didn't want the series to end, this book definitely gave the series justice. 5 stars.

Loved the first books in this series. This book seemed rushed and not quite focused and juvenile at times. However, despite it’s shortcomings was good to see this series end on a high point. Loved the humor.

I was turned this way and that way, constantly trying to predict the next step, and kept on the edge of my seat this entire book. Heck the whole series! Good god, if you crave dragons (excuse me, Drae) this is your series. Read these. Its beautifully written and just lovely. The cultures are well thought out and different. And I loved the ending. Haha boy oh boy. I loved the ending! It made it worth it.

This was such a satisfying end. My heart stuttered a bit at the end, but relief in the last few pages.

I’m going to miss Ryn and her antics. She was a delightful character, and she’ll stay with me forever.

The Queen of soap and potatoes. ❤️

This was the perfect ending to the Darkest Drae series. We follow Ryn and Tyrrik as they finally face the evil emperor to win the freedom of not only the human but those they didn't even know existed. There is wielding of power, pain and punishment, deceit and treachery afoot, and the two of them have to wade through it all to find the truth and save the kingdom. It's frightening, heartbreaking and filled with humor to help soothe the sting. We watch Ryn and Tyrrik's relationship mature and take on another dimension that will prove important for the work ahead. And we meet the evil behind the devastation that has been plaguing the kingdom. Will they survive, and if they do, what will be the consequences of the actions they must take?

These two authors made their amazing imaginations come to life, and helped me appreciate the moments I sat on the verge of tears or laughed out loud. The characters and the details are colorful and vivid. The twists were surprising and had me catching my breath. I hope they take on more projects together because this was a wonderful melding of the minds.

Great series but boy wasIi dissapointed that all bed scenes (including the first time we all have been waiting for) are skipped. And that I one can read how the lay in each other arms. Not what I have been waiting for, after reading page after page.

Book 1 of a series should come with a warning label. ‘How amazing this book is. You never going to read how the main couple will be romantic together.’ ?! #dissapointed

But of course if you are between 14-18. Or mayor fan of the author or romanceless urban fantasy this is the book for you. Characters, writing, story and world building are flawless!

I love me some fantasy reading. While enjoying the traditional fantasy read complete with requisite knights, dragons and mages, this series puts a fresh spin on the storyline with contemporary references. Language and nuance are modern and covey the flavor of the time period without alienating the reader in archaic terms. The pace is fast, the context rich and colorful and characters well developed. I will continue to explore this author and the other forays into alternate universes.
