Novels where the human realm collides with the paranormal realm are favorites of mine. In the Entwined Realms series, vampires are not your friends, zombies and orcs are definitely bad news, and that fearsome gargoyle may just be the love of your life. I think my favorite part of this novel was that everyone wasn't what they seemed to be. Friends and family with secret lives, allies with hidden agendas, an Oracle with matchmaking tendencies and, of course, gargoyle warriors with a soft side. I am definitely reading more of this series.

This book was a pleasant surprise - the background information provided around this 'new realm world' was not to much nor to little, just the right amount without it getting bogged down in detail (which sometimes authors can drown you in).

A lot of people like their female characters to be super kick a**/alpha (which I quite enjoy from time to time), it made a nice change that the main female character was fairly 'normal' in that she had no super fighting skills and was realistic in knowing her limitations.

All in all I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next one - 2014 is too far away !

If there was the option of 1/2 stars I would have given this 4/1/2 rather than 5 mainly due to the fact that I was not to keen with one of the main characters 'Fallon' (who I found a bit off putting - but there's always one!)

Somehow two worlds collide and now there is magic on Earth, along with Mages Vampires and Lycan but to name a few. Discover this new Earth and how humans are adjusting to myths and legends come to life! This author has spun a tale that enthralled and captivated me so I purchased the rest of this series. So come meet the newest arrivals and the Guild and its members who police the Magics in New Realm. Enjoy!

Danielle Monsch might be new to the writing scene, but she most surely is one to look out for and keep track of.
Stone Guardian was a pleasure to read and the concept of two worlds colliding was very good. The story is well written and I enjoyed the characters.
The gargoyles were a pleasant surprise and the various magical creatures in this book working together or plotting something dangerous opens doors to some very pleasurable hours of reading in the future. Terak and Larissa's story was very sweet and I hope that the author will not ignore them in future books.

A refreshing change from vamp and were focused paranormal romance. The background and inner workings of the gargoyle community were well explained. The book was very well written, I was able to visualize the characters, was drawn in to the story and didn't want to put the book down, and am left eagerly anticipating the next book in this series. Also, the concept of how the paranormal and norm realms came together and the effect on both communities was interesting. Great story line, enjoyable characters (some of which had personalities that had me smiling and laughing), and lets face it - the author made gargoyles hot!

This was very well written. The characters were believable and had a strength of their own even if they were supporting cast. I was very happy that, even though the heroine was not a warrior type, she was not mousy and whinny. I do hope we get to see more backstory on Larissas family in future books.

I love the paranormal! I loved the twist with Necromancers, zombies, vampires and Gargoyles!

It was refreshing to read about the H being a gargoyle. Terak fell in love with a human. All sorts of factions of the magic realm want Larissa. For what, they don't know.

Tarek wants Larissa. His clan wants to be kept secret from the other factions. The clan will reject Larissa as Terak's mate. There was all sorts of 'political intrigue'.

This was a great book. I can't wait to read the next instalment of the series!

I purchased this book thinking what the heck, sounds promising. Boy was it!! I couldn't put it down, all the characters were so alive you felt like you could see them. Sometimes fantasy or sci-fi gets too far out for me, but not Stone Guardian. Yes two worlds collided and even though you have new species coming into play you still feel like you are right there. Some of the characters are so strong that I hope that there are SEVERAL more books in this series. I can't wait to find out what happens with Fallon and Reign...its gona be a doozie!!

I liked this book! I thought gargoyles?? But Ms. Monsch pulled it off beautifully. It was nice to have a new main character other than vamps or werewolves. The story was catching and definitely engaging. The characters were very interesting and the background story was fun. They were also "real" characters. One of the main characters was a teacher with a teacher's woes...grading papers. ;) In a way it reminded me of Kate Daniels' world but with different supes. And it was a fun world to visit! I can't wait to see what happens next. Enjoy!

I loved the start to this new series. Gargoyles have long been one of my favorite paranormal denizens; the mythology of gargoyle as protector lends itself so well to fantasy/romance adventures. This book had an engaging primary couple, particularly the gargoyle; he was utterly charming, as well as strong and loyal and sexy. Interesting secondary characters, which makes looking forward to the upcoming books fun...although Fallon was almost a bit too abrasive at times. Wulver was very hot and intriguing and I hope we learn more about Shadow!

I like the supernatural that ties into the present day! The mythical creatures mixed with modern day. More action less romance. I would read more of your writing. Recommend to others that enjoy this type of books.

I really liked this and thought it was thrilling. Larissa was naive and it kind of made me mad because she was so sheltered. Terak was cool and I liked how he handled her. This was definitely a good start to the world.

The characters are multi dimensional and demonstrate our bias based on limited knowledge and fear of the unknown. Much like real life out side of this story. But the book reaffirms love and knowledge and basic trust van make many beautiful relationships work therefore helping to break stereotypes and preconceived out dated mistrust. A great read! I'm looking forward to further books in this series.

Loved this book. Lots of interesting characters and though I could do without the graphic sex I just skipped over that, I did like that Larissa did not seem as stupid as most of the females are in these kind of books and only had the one episode of doubt in her gargoyle mate. I really liked the Fallon and Laire combo, I hope they get more play in future books.

Stone Guardian is a very entertaining start to a series that will suck you in and not let you go. The intriguing characters, plot twists and turns, and fascinating world of magic make this a wonderful read. My only advice is to start reading early in the day, not late, or you'll be caught in the magic til the wee hours. Could not put it down!

This is a great angle on paranormal romance. The plot and back story are well thought out. The writer draws you in with rich details and a well defined hero. Larissa's development could have been better and a few spots cleaned up a bit but overall this is quite enjoyable. Most series I don't bother past the first book but I can't wait to read the rest of this one.

This book was the most engrossing book I have read in years. It is full of amazing characters. The plot was well thought of and imaginative. I can not wait to read all of the other books this author has published. Some intense parts not suitable for younger readers. But boy are they well written.

What to add to the already positive reviews here, except to say that I agree with them all. This is such a great take on how two realms came together with Vampires, Mages, Gargoyles & Humans plus a host of other badies in the mix it's just pulls you in... love it! Doesn't solely focus on the sex and bedroom though it does have that of course, but the characters and the story itself is what keeps you reading to the very end. Just a real treat love it and I am so looking forward to the next instalment.

It was smooth and satisfyingly imaginative with a dash of wry humor. I like this story's reasonably intelligent characters and plot without a lot of trite 'genre' phrases, over-described sexual action, focus on gore, or pointless dialog. I will be looking for more work by this author.

This story is full of engaging characters set in a very interesting world. Larissa has lived all of her 26 years in the humans only city. Her life is safe, non-magical and protected until the night she is attacked by zombies and then rescued by a gargoyle. What follows is a delightful romance and pretty darn good story. The many secondary characters are as intriguing as the hero and heroine and the bad guys are terrifically menacing. The world building is subtle but carefully done and I look forward to more stories in this series.

I really liked this story! This author brought some great characters to life and introduced us to them with the good and bad of story. A human who didn't know much about "other" beings and a gargoyle who wasn't sure what to think. The story line is really good and keeps you interested to the end. Definitely I would recommend this!

This is only my second gargoyles romance book I have ever read. I must say I really enjoyed it. Larissa was a strong female lead and Terak stole my heart. The characters that made up the Guild distracted me even though I know they played an important part of the story. I would have loved to see how Larissa ended up fitting into the gargoyles clan or how Tweak integrated his people with the NewRealm. Well I guess that is for the future books. Overall great story with a lot of character development. Will definitely recommend to other readers.

Great read. Love the gargoyles and the human twist. Everything was balanced. Mystery, action intrigue, romance and love sessions. I really am glad that the storyline wasn't just sex with a few chapters of story thrown in as a plus. Toomey authors rely on sex as the story. Leave us to our imagination for our perfect.scene.with the hero. Great book. Thank you so much Danielle, I am ready for th next read, can't wait.

I always wanted to read a gargoyle romance novel and this book delivered. I rated it 3 stars because I wish the plot and setting were more complicated. I'm also not a big fan of naive main characters.

Loved the overall premiss of the two world colliding. It allows for endless imaginative stories like this one. Having a gargoyle as lead romantic male is genius. Larissa is sweet and not too innocent but I did find her lack of knowledge of the magical creatures a bit weak. She is a history teacher and should know more than she does. I liked that there just enough interaction with her over protective family and not more. Good call there . The love story is very well done ,some time for tension to build but not too much and no standing around "will i wont i" hand ringing. One or two obvious outcomes of certain scenes but they were needed. The three guild characters were a a great addition for both added depth and comic relief. I would highly recommend it and look forward to the instalment.

What a wonderful story!! I absolutely loved it, it's right up there with all my favorites. This novel has the perfect blend of fantasy, mystical creatures, dark, love and romance, and we can't forget the action! I was finished with this book way before I wanted to be and am very eagerly awaiting the sequel. The countdown begins now...
I recommend this book to all adult scifi/fantasy readers. Thanks Danielle for such a fantastic world to escape to.

I like urban fantasy, regular fantasy, science fiction and paranormal romance as long as the characters and relationships are interesting. I was surprised by how thoroughly I enjoyed the female lead in this story, she is not kick-ass (all that tough lady stuff can get cartoonish with some writers); what she is, though, is an adult. That is refreshing. I am excited about this new series, the premise is interesting and the writing is solid. I believe this writer is going to turn into a regular read.

The concept of the entwined realms is an innovative way to create a world that other urban fantasy writers have not explored. Enjoyed the plot and characters. If you are looking for an Atlas Shrugged type of novel, you won't find it here. Instead, you'll find a light read with the depth to keep readers of deeper, longer novels engaged; while allowing those who want a lighter touch happy as well. Great job...I look forward to the next book in the series.

Gargoyles, hunh! From one Pgh gal to another...good story!! I am pleased there are more in the series as I still need more to read! This is not a NEW theme (but there really aren't many of those), but it is a VERY nice twist. I particularly liked the bits of humor and snark as well as the good character development...no cardboard characters. Keep writing please!

Really good story, but due to the surprising amount of editing errors, not worth a $5.99 sticker price (dropped quotes, incorrect conjunctions, words and commas missing. A darn shame, as the story was fresh and original; nicely paced with great characters. If the prices drop, or a better proofread is done, I would be able to recommend (although, I still feel book is overpriced).

I've read other reviews saying that this book held inconsistencies but I found that these were summed up quite nicely for the most part. The heroine was a bit all over the map but not outside the realm of believe ability. The hero was also believe able and some of the side characters were a riot. I can't wait to read more of this series for Fallon and Laithe. The word built by the author is full of promise and potential and I look forward to more.

This book has everything I enjoy, world building, romance and a mystery that keeps you guessing while at the same time giving you hints that make sense at the end. It leaves you wanting to know what comes next because you care about the characters. So yes, I want the next book.

I loved this book. I haven't really found anything to read till now. I believe that Danielle Monsch is a very good author and this book was amazing and everything I hoped it would be. Refreshing spin on paranormal romance. I really enjoyed reading about the story of a gargoyle who was assigned to watch over a woman by the Oracle after the Great Collision. For unknown reasons this human has an important role in their world of mystical creatures from other realms and needs to be guarded well. Look forward to more of this series and anxious to see where and how the series evolves.

I like this author. She managed to create a romantic story about a human and a gargoyle. Who would believe a gargoyle romance? But it was very enjoyable. The hero is sensitive and sweet, true blue (no pun intended) and a ++++++SPOILER ALERT++++++ virgin. It sure made for a very romantic story. But it could have been stronger if two virgins had not fallen into bed so easily .... The story was also packed with action adventure and interesting side characters. I enjoyed being in Danielle Monsch's imagination.

On the day that Larissa Miller was born, two realms collided. One is the realm that we know, the realm of humans and the "real world." The other is the realm of the supernatural, and it's filled with all the creatures of fairy tales and nightmares. In the years since the collision, the two realms have coexisted tensely. Larissa has successfully evaded contact with the supernatural for most of her life, thanks to her residence in the humans-only city and her extremely protective father and brothers. But then, Larissa is the victim of an attack by zombies and she finds herself with an unsolicited protector, one who she never dreamed existed - and who she can't help but feel drawn to.

For starters, one thing that I really liked about this book was the fact that Monsch chose a completely unexpected creature for her hero. I have never read a book that featured a gargoyle as the love interest, and in a world where we're inundated by the presence of vampires, werewolves, and zombies as supernatural love interests, I think that it's really refreshing that Monsch decided to go with something so different. The nice thing about choosing to write about something like a gargoyle is that it allowed Monsch to create something entirely new - she didn't have to draw from centuries of convention and tradition because there are so few books written about gargoyles - unlike vampires, which we've been fascinated by since Bram Stoker's Dracula. So I really like that Monsch took advantage of the opportunity to use a lot of artistic license.

I also liked that this book didn't center solely on gargoyles, but it includes a TON of other supernatural creatures. The problem with this is that at times, it was difficult to keep track of what each character was, especially since Monsch did use so much artistic license in creating this world. Even when I could remember what each character was, I couldn't remember what their species were capable of. And on top of that, there are a TON of characters. I couldn't even begin to keep track of those outside of the primary characters, because there were so many secondary characters. And there were even more characters who were just mentioned by name but never really introduced. So that was a bit frustrating.

One thing I was particularly disappointed by was how static Larissa and Terak were. Well, to be honest, pretty much all of the characters were static, but I was especially disappointed by Larissa and Terak because they were the main love interest. Don't get me wrong, they were completely likeable. But they didn't really go through any changes and there wasn't really any depth to either of them. One thing that Monsch is really good at is writing a steamy love scene (oh my, are they steamy!), but as great as they were, I still felt disconnected to the characters and their romance as a whole. Another character thing that disappointed me was the fact that Larissa was CONSTANTLY being rescued. Like, I get it - she's a weak human, she doesn't really get how things work in the supernatural world, blah blah blah. But I don't know about all of you, but personally, I think the whole "damsel in distress" thing is better left in the 1950s. Larissa's smart - after a while, she should have started using common sense and stopped getting herself into situations where she needed to be rescued. But she didn't, and I found that to be infuriating. She did redeem herself in this respect a bit at the end, but for me, it was too little, too late.

One thing that annoyed me - not a big deal, just a pet peeve - was the fact that there was a lot of profanity in this book, right from the beginning. And I'm not talking the little ones either - right in the first chapter, there were at least 3-4 f-bombs. For the most part, these words were used in the context of heated conversations or intense action, but I personally find excessive profanity to be a huge turn-off, especially in literature. I find it incredibly difficult to believe that authors, who are supposed to be masters of language, can't find more tasteful and eloquent ways for their characters to express themselves, even in negative moments. To me, excessive profanity is a cop-out and a sign of weak writing, and I wish that it had been left out of this book.

The last thing that I want to draw on isn't so much a comment on the book, but a comment on Danielle Monsch herself. As you can probably tell, this was not the best book that I've read - I liked it in general, but there were parts of it that made me cringe. That being said, I read this book not because I thought that I would particularly like it, but because at the time that I bought it, Monsch was donating a portion of the proceeds to Toys for Tots. I think that it is awesome that Monsch uses her writing to benefit people who are in need and even though this book wasn't my favorite, I would absolutely buy it again, purely to support its author and her work. To me, it doesn't matter if I personally liked or disliked this book. Danielle is an author who should be supported - she's using her work to help people and I think that is truly admirable.

Overall, this book had potential, and there were things that I liked about it. But honestly, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe if you're really into the supernatural romance genre you'll have better luck with this than I did, but for me, this just wasn't my favorite. And, like I said - if you read this, you're supporting a good cause! :)

Honestly I bought this because of the cover, and it turned out to be a great book. The cast of characters is entertaining and believable. The love story is sweet which isn't always the case in the genre but it works...nice to know there are strong and sweet loves.
This book was good but I really liked some of the supporting characters better and I'm hoping the next book is about one of them (Fallon).

I loved this book! I read only paranormal romance books and this is definitely in my favorites. Danielle did an amazing job of developing her background story of the collision of the magic and human realms, had enough side stories to make it interesting without going so far off the main couple as to get boring and absolutely developed the love story so that it was beautiful and believable. Personally, my books need to have amazing sex scenes and anyone who reads Lora Leigh knows what I'm talking about and her's were stellar. Excellent job Danielle! I would recommend this book highly for all readers who love a great romance mixed up with a highly developed paranormal story! It's also fun to have a great writer who gives you a little intrigue about her other characters. What's up with Fallon anyway? Do not want to wait for the next one next year. Get on it girl! Wendy

I enjoyed reading about the guardian. I didn't think that I would. It's hard to think of a stone cold gargoyle as a living breathing warm being. Well, you did it. and I fell in love with Terak's character. Thank you for something new and different.

Bought this book because I had mistaken it as being a part of another series I am reading. Have to say, this is one mistake I am glad I made.

The characters are fun, and the book drops you in the middle of a global storyline that leaves you curious about the supporting characters as well as thoroughly entertained by the main ones.

I look forward to reading more in this series.

Sigh, this book was dreamy for me. I found myself in tears several times and feeling what the characters were feeling. The inner conflict of the hero is just as amazing as the external conflict. I loved the chemistry between the heroine and hero and how their love cam to be. I also enjoyed many of the secondary characters and look forward to picking up another novel by this author
