1. I love how Penny Reid writes. Her characters and dialogue never disappoint.
2. I was hooked from scene one - very clever and entertaining.
3. I should have waited for all the books in the series to have been released before reading. I knew this!!
4. My weakness for Penny has left me annoyed with an incomplete story.
5. I'm going to re-review after I've finished all three books. I can't give higher rating now based on 1/3 of a story.
6. Penny's books are at the top of my list in the past year with regard to putting me in a good mood. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading any of her books, I highly recommend you start with the Knitting in the City series. Smart and funny books with characters worth caring about.

My initial reaction after reading this one, "GAH!". Another winner from Penny Reid, even if I want to hate her for the cliffie with this one. A cliffie she warned us about. Repeatedly. I though I could handle it, but I apparently can't because I want the next two books NOW! I love that she never assumes that her readers are stupid and isn't afraid to use words with more than two syllables. I love how develops her characters and how you really get to know them. I am loving the heroine, Katy, and I am reserving judgment on the hero, Martin, until after I read the next books. I love how she seems to answer questions I might have in the narrative. For example, during one scene the heroine is going to a party to warn the hero of a dastardly plan against him. I wondered why she just didn't just call. Sure enough, a side character asks the same thing and there is a reasonable explanation is given. Love it! I will always have Penny Reid on my OneClickAlways list and have yet to be disappointed. Can't wait for the next two books!!! Awesome read!

A word of caution--clear your calendar before starting this book. Because once you start, all you will want to do is read. Late into the night, early in the morning. Eschewing all responsibilities and letting your children starve. Or at least have cold cereal for dinner three nights in a row.

Yup, it's that good. I've read Penny Reid before, and ELEMENTS OF CHEMISTRY, does not disappoint. I'm sure plenty of other reviewers have gone into the plot, so I'm not going to re-hash that. What I love most about Ms. Reid is that she writes smart women. And funny. Her characters are the kind you wish you could be like and want to be friends with. This book was a little more steamy than I had anticipated going in. As in, it's hot. But again, Ms. Reid is smart about it. It's hot without being gratuitous, overboard, or unrealistic.

I could go on and on, but you just need to get this book. Make sure to get parts 1-3, 'cause just part one is going to leave you frustrated.

Yikes! That was a rollercoaster ride and a half so far. All good...good...riding. But my goodness now onto the waiting for the next books. I'm just gonna say it...Katilyn's awesome...she's self conscious but beautiful...smart and knows it....and hilarious,(I think I laughed more in this short story then I've laughed all week) she's also totally out of touch with things at times that makes me the reader love her even more. I'm rooting for her...or more importantly this developing relationship with Mr. Stroke(aka Martin-super-godlike-bod) The story made me toss myself into their lives hook line and sinker. Now to just try and be patient... I'm ready for more! Bring on Heat!!

Pramaticism, intelligence, and decency are sexy. If you don't believe me believe this book. For every woman who thought, "nah, I'm not his type," or "he doesn't see me that way" this book is your fantasy. It is smart, funny, and has a lovable heroine that is above all extremely smart. Which is fantastic but so rare in this genre. That is something you will notice about Penny Reid's novels, they are full of fantastic but rarely seen things that this genre desperately needs. This one leaves you wanting MoRe (in a good way) but for being one third of a three-part story it doesn't leave you at a harsh cliffhanger, just very curious as to the rest of the story.

Kaitlyn and Martin are very believable characters, I would like to know more. I understand the premise of a cliff hanger, but this book stops short of making me want to spend money on the next book. 147 pages, I should have known this book would not develop sufficiently to make me want to read the next book, and probably another to get to a conclusion.

I am so not into college romances/new adult books, but Penny Reid is one of my favorite authors so I took the chance and bought the book. And wow, do I love this! Kaitlyn reminds me of Janie in Neanderthal seeks human and I was totallly sucked into the story. I even tried to read on my way to and in the cinema today on my Iphone. There is a cliffhanger at the end but fortunately also a sneak preview of the next installment so it turned out OK. Immediately ordered the other two. Don't like these installments, want to read one book. But Penny explained we are getting a more than the normal word count so I think I will get over it. Highly recommend!!!

Martin & Kaitlyn’s story is quite entertaining. Martin is used to getting what he wants and Kaitlin just doesn’t give in to societal norms. Their exchanges are witty and highly entertaining. Penny Reid never disappoints. I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Really well written. Penny Reid never disappoints. But the Alpha-male-spoiled-rich-jerk thing in Romance books is kinda making me crazy. Leave it to Penny to make it fresh. I love the well adjusted, smart girl thing. Very refreshing. She may be shy but she's also not afraid to lay it out.

I thought the book was great.....but I'm totally irked at the cliff-hanger 3 part thing....I'll forgive you after part three.

Kaitlyn and Martin are just something else.. quirky couple, out there conversations, and undeniable chemistry.. Their insecurities are relatable and the story was kind of..captivating. I actually enjoyed this bit, even if I wasn't thrilled with the cliffhanger, but I do like the occasional tongue in cheek humor that pops up. I'm not a big New Adult fan but I'm discovering I am a Penny Reid fan!

Another great story by Penny Reid. I've waited for this story since I read a teaser at the end of her last book. My only complaint now is that I have to wait until the end of this month for installment 2 of the story. Why do authors, or is it publishers, do that? I prefer reading a story from beginning to end. I don't like waiting to finish a story... Especially if I LIKE it! Now, I waited (impatiently) for this book since I read the teaser only to discover the book has 3 parts! This is incredibly frustrating! Yet, all that frustration aside, I will wait...because I want to finish the story!

I loved the characters! Martin the uber rich guy who gets anything he wants, and Kaitlyn the smart girl who will give it to you straight whether you like it or not. She's my favorite. So far, it's been pretty typical, guy wants girl, guy gets girl, guy messes up (unintentionally) and maybe loses girl...and I say so far since this isn't a whole book. It's free, which is great! but I'd have paid for a whole book. I love the authors writing style and Kaitlyn is a breath of fresh air in a world filled with too many insecure, wishy-washy, easily led female mc's. Can't wait to read the rest!

Kaitlyn and Martin are two of the most awesome characters I have come across in a long time! Penny Reid's sense of humor, witty writing, and delectable characters make this book an absolute must read! I cannot wait to read the next installment. This is a series book, but it's no shrinking violet all on its own! I laughed, giggled, and snorted my way through huge parts. I commiserated with both heroine and hero in other parts. This is the kind of book a reader prays for when they're hunting down new authors to read! If I could double the stars, I'd give it all 10!

Really enjoyed this and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. I will say that it does end a bit abruptly but I'm hooked. This is my first book from Penny Reid and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be purchasing more from her. Love her voice and writing style. I like that this book was funny, sexy and smart. Love that the heroine is so painfully awkward with the hero. Can't wait to see how this series progresses.

I liked this one, which was a little different from Penny's other books. A little more risqué, but just as endearing as her past characters. I don't like books with sequels, and I probably won't read the sequels unless I can get them on lendle. This one was a bit shorter than what I prefer, which I is why I'm not buying the others, which I beliee are just as short. Yes, I recommend, but no, I'm most likely not going to read the rest of the series. But I do love alllllll of her other books! So maybe I'll read the sequels eventually.....

Previously reviewed on GR 4/15.

4.5 stars!!! Gahhhhhh that ending. Wtff. I loved this book. I loved Parker and her inner voice and her nerdy quirks and Martin was just pure deliciousness. But ummm. that ending. WTF. I can't wait for the next one.

All in all P Reid is a fantastic writer and I cannot waittttt for more Martin and Parker!

This whole series is definitely my favorite new adult series. I'm not a big fan of series, but this one was just fantastic. The relationship between the two characters is fantastic and I just love what she's done with them, letting them grow and follow their dreams and really figure out who they are in life. Just so well written and sweet. (if you can't tell this review basically goes for all of the novels in this series)

Most people look at a calendar and think, only five days until pay day. Or 3 days until the weekend. I for the last couple weeks have been tracking my time by how many days until the next Penny Reid book comes out. Now that I've read Attraction, I'm counting the days down to when the 2nd book comes out.

I loved it! I want nothing more than to delve into Martins past and figure out why he is the way he is. I want to know if and how Katy is the one to do it. I mostly want to know if he meets her parents. Now that's a scene I'd like to read about! Penny Reid is my BBFF....book best friend forever!

Great start to a series. I love Kaitlyn's sarcasm and how she deals with everything. She kind of reminds me of myself. How she's awkward, but tries to be rational and think the situation through. But in the end, she just comes out overthinking it all. I was very entertained throughout the story and can't wait to read the next!

Got to say that Penny Reid usually strives to please her readers with her awesome writing style, however I have to admit I'm very sad that she decided to separate this book into three novels. I think we would of preferred to read all 600 or 700 pages than wait an eternity for the rest of the books. Sigh.... Disappointed only about having to wait. Book content is unequivocally combustible material, you will very much enjoy the read but be warned if you are not a patient person I'd suggest you wait until all three parts are available.

Penny Reid has delivered the goods. Her heroines sell her books to me. They are not governesses or poor relations or in circumstances requiring rescue from the gorgeous, rich hero. They are extremely bright, unassuming and unpretentious. And while their Bunsen burners may flame over the droolworthy hero, he's got his work cut out for him. I found the dialogue snappy and smart, and the heat between our pair sizzling. Can't wait to see how they get past the bad guy (and girl) and how Martin will prove to Kaitlyn that he's not a total jerk-face. Will definitely buy book two!

This author makes my brain zing and my emotions sing. She's funny and entirely cognizant of flawed Mental Health. When I'm reading one of her books I want to stay in the story forever and simultaneously rush forward to find out what happens next.

Penny Reid's unique voice comes through in this new adult book. I read it in almost one sitting and so glad the second one is out because it has quite the unexpected/abrupt ending. The h(Kaitlyn) comes across quirky but her quips are endearing and you'll find yourself connecting with her. Martin is the H and quite the alpha but Kaitlyn, I found, was not a pushover for him. This book is the beginning of their story and if you like Penny Reid then you'll find this to be one of her best to date.

And reminds me of her other book from the Knitting series. The heroine is very smart and nerdy, and apparently beautiful but she isn't aware of it. She's only 19, so this is so far a YA book. I'm not turned off by her youth, but I hope she soon develops more self confidence so that she isn't constantly doubting her ability to have genuine attraction from Martin, aka "jerk face."
Part 1 ends with a cliffhanger, and I'm hooked so I'm definitely going to buy part 2.

A great read! Just the right balance of humor, feels, sass and sexytimes. I admire Penny's female characters - when being faced with a broken heart, they aren't reduced to blubbering messes; rather they bloom into strength and character. A trait my younger self really could have learned from. Parker is an oddball, and I love her quirkiness - it's refreshing to read female characters that wholly accept their own gifts and who have women friends who love and accept them dearly. Thank you, Penny. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

What a book! Thank you Penny Reid for concocting such a colorful female character (Parker) full of idiosyncrasies and weirdness to make me feel like had this character existed, I would totally be closet friends with her :) I could not put the book down and finished the three parts in a matter of days. Now I'm sad that I rushed through it and I wish I could read more of Katelyn's antics... I also learned lots of new words and enriched my vocabulary along the way so a plus there!

3.5 Stars | Hot Steam

Though brief and ending on a wicked cliffhanger, I enjoyed this cute and, at times, steamy New Adult escape. Told from a brainy but socially bewildered college girl’s POV, ATTRACTION is an entertaining and sexy start to a promising trilogy. I’m excited to see what happens next! (Martin has a lot of explaining and making up to do!!)

This is funny, interesting and different. The lead guy is hot and confident but he has to convince our heroine that she doesn't have to be so shy around him so he takes her to a private island. By the way this is a book about college students and is amazing, everything felt real and I enjoyed it. Penny Reid always writes such good characters, I really related to Kaitlyn.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr cliffhangers!! We love to hate them! There is a big one in this taste of elements of chemistry: Attraction, ... attraction... attraction, hell yes I'm attracted to this series! I love Penny"s comedic timing and her quirky characters. I know that every time i read one of her books I AM GOING TO LAUGH OUT LOUD, and this was no exception, i am so excited to read the next book! I am so thankful for her talent, bravo Penny, bravo....

I loved Parker, she is intelligent, funny, warm and beautiful. I liked her rants, naming synonyms under duress, her unexpected jokes, and how practical she is. There is also a hot boy who is a prick to any girl he sleeps with. He is a boy to stay away from, yet their chemistry is pulling them together and making her "Bunson burner" burn. Can't wait for the second book.

I loved the start of this series! Kaitlyn Parker is kind of a nerd. She's smart and socially awkward. Martin Sandeke is her lab partner. He comes from a super rich family, he's the captain of his rowing team and is Mr. Popularity. I loved how we were introduced to these characters. I can't wait to see where this story goes and to get more Martin and Katy!

Omg, I absolutely devoured this series. I read it in a day it was so good!
Martin, the hero, was so hot but flawed. You couldn't help but root for him.
Kaitlyn is the true star though. She's smart, strong and good. She's aspirational. I love how she sticks to her guns and won't back down.
I really enjoyed the character development throughout.

4 stars overall -- this series started off really strong for me in the first book, but while it maintained some of the greatness, it also added elements that frustrated me in the final 2 books. In the end I was satisfied with the conclusion though.

ATTRACTION:
4.5 stars -- Sucked in right from the beginning of this book, mostly because of our delightfully hilarious heroine Kaitlyn (or Parker as I remember her more often). I mean seriously, how can I not love someone who hides in closets and doesn't know how to interact with people? She's so honest and blunt and just plain adorable. She's everything I love in a heroine.

Martin, on the other hand, I'm still reserving judgement on. He has some great moments, and I see the things that Kaitlyn sees in him, but just like her, he frustrates me. But I kind of like that he doesn't have this abrupt turn around into good guy...he's still Martin, just showing his three dimensions more. And it's not like Kaitlyn is without her own faults. It will be interesting to see how their relationship plays out! Can't wait to move on to the next installment....

HEAT:
3.5 stars -- OK, major problem with writing this review -- I was so sucked into the story that instead of following my modus operandi and writing the review immediately after finishing the book, I instead kept right on reading into book 3. So this review is going to be sorely lacking, b/c I'm terrible at remembering my thoughts and feelings once I've moved on to the next.

The steam factor turned up to 11 in this installment, but so did the angst. And I'm not sure how big a fan I am of angst....something I'm learning about myself. The relationship between Kaitlyn and Martin went into overdrive, and passed through so many levels of feelings. So with all the good stuff, we get some fighting too. I appreciated how much more we were learning about the characters as they were learning about each other, but occasionally I was confused by their actions....but that could have been just me. I was not always a fan of how Kaitlyn described Martin -- how he looked at her with malice, etc -- so it made it harder to always follow what she was falling in love with. It's not that he didn't have 3 dimensions, but his faults could be kind of alarming (at least the way she described them). So that would be where my half star loss came from....

I still really enjoyed the uniqueness that is Kaitlyn...she mostly made me laugh with her quirky habits and ways of seeing the world. I also enjoyed the banter between her and Martin. Don't let my other comments fool you, the good stuff was GOOD.

Obviously I'm super happy that I had all 3 books in the bundle, otherwise the ending probably would have torn me apart more than it did. Needless to say, I motored right on into the next installment...

CAPTURE:
3.5 stars -- Interesting conclusion to the series. I simultaneously enjoyed the way this one played out, and grew frustrated with the obvious plot ploys...I knew exactly what was going on, and so it was frustrating to watch my hero and heroine fumbling around missing each other. Made me spend a lot of time wondering if *this* would finally be the moment where they would get it. So that took me out of the moment a little while reading. But like I said, I also kind of enjoyed the way their relationship played out. So basically I confuse even myself. :P

So what exactly did I enjoy? I enjoyed seeing them both grow over the time that they were apart. I enjoyed the way Martin was trying to reconnect with Kaitlyn, even if Kaitlyn was too oblivious to see it. I liked their interactions with each other. Their friendship did make me smile. They still had their volatile moments, but at least Martin was less "evil" sounding from her perspective. And when things finally started moving in the direction I wanted it to, I really enjoyed the way it ended and the bit of HEA we got to see.

I love the characters in this book because they are not perfect. Each has wonderful qualities but also issues that they need to improve, pasts that they need to ever come. The constant is their love for each other . The plot has scenes that are fun sometimes and very sexy others. You forget that the character are very young people maybe because they are both so smart.

This first part ends on a cliffhanger so make sure you have all three in the series and can access them easily. I could not stop reading this series. I'm just glad I was late to the game on this one so I could read them all at once!

Totally stoked to see where this goes... I'm liking that major cliffhanger ending-- I really like a good hard drop into the next book in a series. Especially now that we know Katy is not some swooning victim. I love that she's not taking any crap off of Martin. I also love that she's set up to really grow and develop into her own person for Book 3... now where will Ms. Reid take us??

I stopped reading this book 1/2 way through... It started irritating me and I found the characters boring! I hate when I pay for something that I don't end up finishing. I made the mistake of buying the whole series.
