This book was over too soon! I absolutely love the Winston brothers series. Actually, I love all of the books written by Penny Reid! I love that her characters are funny, quirky and flawed, with real life problems and issues. Cannot wait for the next in the series!

I love this book. Penny Reid captures a family of characters that is so real you can hardly wait to visit all of them again. I hope the "WINSTON" family continues to grow so there will be many more books to come. These are such heart warming, funny, steamy and endearing stories. I hope Penny Reid never runs out of stories for me to enjoy.

Remarkable book. Every time Penny Reid hits it out of the park. It seems like each book in this series gets better and better. Shelly and Duane are one couple I hope we see a lot more of. Really spectacular.

This series has everything. Loyal siblings, love in all the right places, talent without the ego, small town, mc club (not the main story) and did I mention tear jerking sweet loves? I have loved each of the beard books. More, please, more.

5 stars. Just... wow.
I could wax poetically about my love for everything Penny Reid for hours- but I shall spare you all and just say that one of the reasons that I admire her writing so much is because of her ability to defy all tropes. Each and every one of her books is different from one another- she does not follow a "formula"- if you read one you have not "read them all"... and this book is no different. I can confidently say that you have not ever read a love story like Shelley and Beau's. AND YOU MUST. TRUST ME. This is something you need to read. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll swoon (right along with Shelley), then Penny will drop a MAJOR truth bomb you didn't see coming (BOOM!), then you'll want to hug both characters, then you'll laugh again... and so on and so on... It's like the best sort of rollercoaster. Penny has a penchant for hitting me right in the feels- but I love every second of it. Suffice it to say that I loved this one, and I guarantee you will too.

Penny Reid is literally one of my FAVORITE authors to read. Every book, in ever series, is hysterical and loving all wrapped up in one! The red-headed Winston Brothers' series is no exception! I just adored this book!

Penny Reid has written another fantastic story with Beau and Shelley. Her characters are so well written, you feel as though these are real people you know. I have enjoyed all the books in this series and am a little bummed I have to wait until next year for the next Winston brother story.

As much as I enjoy reading romance, sometimes it's a little "been there, done that," in that all the stories are the same. Great surprise with Beard in Mind. Shelly is wonderfully written, as is Beau. Also loved the continuation of the Winston brothers' story.

Another stellar Beard installment by Penny Reid. She never fails to write humorous but deeply touching, relatable stories. Without giving too much away, I have a deep appreciation for this particular leading lady and her "quirks," as well as Beau's depth of character.

I have no words adequate enough to describe how much I loved this book. Beau and Shelly are relationship goals. They come together so organically and in such a believable way. Shelly is such a complicated and honest character. Her disorder and her journey to help herself are inspiring. Beau is such a dynamic stand up man. These two powerful, different people coming together is pure magic. Their story is heartbreaking and joyful and uplifting. I can't recommend it enough.

Another great Winston brother! The humor makes for a fun read, but the heart -- the love of these family members for each other as well as the romance -- really lifts the book to another level. And the choice of a heroine with real challenges makes it more than just formula.

Beau is my favorite Winston. Sexy and funny and in this book learns to express his own feelings and what he wants. Shelly is amazing. She faces her own issues but at the core of it she and Beau are very much alike. Beautiful!!

Another slam dunk read from this series with some new twists and turns to keep you guessing about what's gonna happen. A great depiction of OCD and how it effects those who struggle with it, but, give hope that there is always someone who will love you no matter what. Can't wait to continue reading thus series.

I love this whole series they are all awesome but this one had me crying from beginning to end. Sad tears, happy tears and everything in between. I love books that bring on the feels and this one is jam packed. Thank you for it. I read alot but I have a feeling this book will stay with me for awhile.

I can hardly wait for the next installment connecting all the characters, the Beards and the Knitters. I also like how she's given some of her characters mental health issues, explaining the problems, and showing how people accept and love them and their quirks. A very positive message.

This story was really awesome, at first I thought it was strange since all the other books the female characters have such dynamic personalities, but I think Shelley was the perfect female for Beau. Love this book!

When I first picked out Neanderthal Seeks Human: A smart romance, a couple of years ago, I had no idea of all the stories that would come to follow. After a year or so, it dawned on me that every character had a highly memorable tale to tell, and that every story introduced new characters who could well be stars just waiting to come out and shine. Although Penny Reid writes more than one series, they seem to become interconnected after a while, but at the same time, each book is easily read as a stand-alone. You could try to read the books in order, but the books are so interwoven, you could really step in anytime, then go back to fill in details. I would still recommend beginning at the start with Neanderthal Seeks Human.
Beard in Mind is Beau Winston's turn to come to life. Beau is one of six brothers, one of whom, Duane, is his twin. Beau gets along with everyone he meets. He is charming, nice, helpful, flirtatious and an all-around good guy. Then he meets Shelly Sullivan, the new mechanic in the auto repair shop he co-owns with his brothers. Shelly is Beau’s polar opposite. She is beautiful but cold and reserved. She has issues with OCD and touching people. She is the first person Beau is unable to win over with sweet talk and a smile. I love how their story plays out. And I learned something too, for instance, how to fix your own refrigerator, and not trying to fix someone else's for them.
More surprises are revealed in Beard in Mind, and anticipation is set for upcoming books in the series, although this is not a cliffhanger by any means; it is a complete stand-alone novel. Just saying, I can’t wait for the next book!!!

Penny Reid is one of the kindest, funniest and lovely authors... She found a way to write a book on a very serious subject in a very light and romantic way. I won't spoil the book but will just say it is as amazing as all the others and more.

Penny Reid writes fun, romantic stories that are a joy to read. I can plow through one in a weekend. I have yet to be disappointed, and I have enjoyed getting to know the Winston brothers (and their sister Ashley!).

Penny has done it again. Heartfelt genuine relationships. Dealing with real, meaningful issues. All the while with romance and suspense and humour thrown in.

I have truly enjoyed this series. I love the humor woven in without trying too hard. I feel like I know this family and I really like them. This one was a great mix of quirk, love and emotion. Highly recommend this whole series.
